NCAA Football 2019 (2 Viewers)

Does anyone else find the sec looney for fining the tennessee volunteers 100,000 for the celebration? I think that is idiotic.

Knowing the state of football and gambling, I'm thinking some SEC bigwig had money on which goal post would come down first, and lost. Probably just trying to recoup his lost bet... -- Al

Al:

Great post. Literally had me laughing out loud.

Not as good as last weekend, but some nice games. My predicts:

Oregon 45 UCLA 30 - At home against an overperforming UCLA, Team Nike will go on the quack attack.

OK. ST. 47 Texas 44 - Steve "seven win" Sark keeps his mediocre legacy going with a road loss.

Bama 54 Miss. St. 20 - Tough to play the Tide after a loss. A beatdown.

Clemson 68 Syracuse 20
- Both are ranked but the comparison ends there.

Always great to see Steve Sarkisian choke another game away but the college refs are getting out of control. The penalties in that game were something like 14 for Texas and none for Ok. St. I've never seen a disparity like that in any college or pro game.

I know you like to beat on Sark, but he didn't choke this one. He has literally brought a Texas team out of the garbage heap and they at this point can beat anyone in the Country. They lost a close tight game and yes the penalties were god awful, but they committed them, they just seemed to receive them all in that the referees were not very IMO equitable. That said, I think Sark has UT in the right direction and am glad to have him. Ewers for all of his ability at QB has still only started about 5 games in his whole career. Pretty **** good for the short time and if his passing had been more consistent, they run away with that game.

I like UT's future chances and I think any team that has to play them, has their hands full. They are about a hair away from being a very dangerous football team. Big talent, good coaching game plan, they are almost there, no doubt about that.

Tom-
I wouldn't make any excuses for Sark. Texas is in the heart of high school football. Any failures there are purely his own fault. He has failed at every place that he has ever coached and left every program worse off than he found it. He sued USC after they fired him for coaching drunk claiming his alcoholism was a disability. He is a complete numbskull who fails upward like many in modern society. Texas will fire him in a couple of years and some other school will hire him for millions and he will fail there.

Great post.

Sarkisian might not be Bear Bryant but he has this program headed in the right direction.

Looking forward to Stanford vs. UCLA.

It is always great to see two academic/scholastic COLLEGE programs match-up.

The PAC refs are killing me. In the last USC game they allowed a TO during an INT return. They just let the clock run out before halftime while the ref was holding the ball after a first down. Unreal.

Michigan State and Texas A&M should be embarrassed by their head football coach’s salaries.

They are a combined 6-10 with a combined 2022 salary of $18 mil.

Lest anyone think I'm exaggerating or biased about the PAC refs take a look at the most recent gem. You have to see the slow motion version to fully appreciate. And why don't they consult the timekeeper instead of each other?

Biggest game of the (regular) season on Saturday. ‘Tween the hedges, Dogs vs. Vols. Both teams 8-0. Essentially #1 vs. #2. Ga favored by 8.5 pts.

Should be a heck of a game. Winner probably guaranteed a spot in College playoffs series.

My predicts:

Georgia 31 TN 27 - I've underestimated TN all season, but I can't see them going into Georgia and winning. All the big game experience is on the side of Georgia. Playing at home is a big advantage.

ASU 37 UCLA 34- My upset pick. ASU is better than advertised. UCLA not as good on the road.

Clemson 27 ND 20 - Should be close and the Irish always get the big, game changing call at home but still like the Tigers.

KSt 44 Texas 24- Sark keeps alive his ability to lose big times.

College football is a strange game. ND lost to a hapless Stanford team a couple of weeks ago but this week they blow out #4 Clemson. USC has turned the ball over only one time this entire. Caleb Williams has thrown 28 TDs and 1 INT but is hardly mentioned in the Heisman race. Instead of 8-1 and in the top ten, USC would be something more like 3-5 without him. All the more amazing in that USC has one of the worst defenses in all college football.

Texas played a pretty good game and won. TCU up next. Florida State laid a beat down on Miami. Great weekend.

Only sad thing was watching that moron at LSU find a way to beat Alabama. Bama is just off this year. I think they play that same game 100 times, Bama wins 99. Just not Saturday night.

FSU rolling

Texas sputtering, some terrible officiating at key moments, but if Texas could complete one decent pass, they would be in this game.

LSU..........................idiot survives again.

Navy - would have been nice, but no cigar as they say. Great 2nd half comeback

That Navy game was a tremendous effort by the Middies. Can't believe they dominated ND so totally in the 2nd half. In other news. The Terps did their annual choke/EL Foldo to PSU. That series sure is a tiresome bore. -- Al
