That Navy game was a tremendous effort by the Middies. Can't believe they dominated ND so totally in the 2nd half. In other news. The Terps did their annual choke/EL Foldo to PSU. That series sure is a tiresome bore. -- Al

i was rooting for them for sure felt like they deserved the upset.

Texas was literally 1 pass from winning their game, if anything worked in first half on offense they win. Qb was just off and I felt bad for him. The coaching game plan was pretty brilliant on offense and defense, just offense forgot how to execute.

FSU looks more Like days of old, they made Syracuse look like pee wee football.

USC is riding the wave. They get the best QB in their history from the transfer portal. Hire a competent coach. Play a soft PAC schedule and they are 9-1 and in the top ten. That's the good news. The bad news is that they have the worst defense in the top 20. Just awful. Expect them to be exposed against UCLA and ND. The UCLA game will be a shootout with the last team to touch the ball winning this weekend. The ND game will be a physical game in which ND grinds out a win running the ball and throwing to the TE.

And how about Sark! The folks in Texas must be starting the campaign to fire him after he choked away another big game. His track record is to take over a great program, and after three years turn it into a disaster. No offensive TDs against TCU? And Sark's one claim to coaching competence is as an offensive coordinator. Jimbo Fisher is coming to Austin soon.

Horrible situation at UVA with the shooting deaths of three players. Some debate about whether to continue on with the season. I think that there is sometimes a false bravado to soldier on. This is a situation where the adults need to tell everyone to take a pause to mourn their teammates.

Doug,
cmon now, not a fair analysis of what happened in that game. Texas has a QB that has all of 7 starts, he was horrid, honestly, not sure he could hit the side of a barn as they say in that game. WR's were wide open, game plan was solid, they just didn't execute. Instead they played better defense than they have all season and gave one of the best teams in the country a tough run. You can continue to rail on Sark all you want, but I hate to burst the bubble, they are going to win. He will be a winner more likely than not unless something goes screwy due to the transfer portal is about a year away. Texas football is a big money program, with a lot of focus, like most of these types of programs (USC included), they don't stay down long. If i was a gambler, I would easily take Texas every week they are at home to either win or cover, this week was a weird one , in that they were favored by 7. I don't know if that was a disrespect of TCU (who arguably is the scrappiest team in the top 5 and I think can beat any of them as they have a will to win) or if it was gambler's respect for home field advantage.

On another note, T A&M is stuck with Fisher for some time, the buy out to get rid of him is huge, so he will not be coming to Texas.

Surprisingly few big games this weekend. Bama is playing Austin Peay! Wow. Most of the action is out west. My predicts:

Baylor 30 TCU 24: This is my upset pick of the week. TCU has been on a great run but this is a possible trap game.

UCLA 50 USC 44: It pains me to pick against the Trojans but their defense is awful. This will be a shootout between two great offenses.

Oregon 37 Utah 20: The Ducks are coming off a tough home loss. They will be out for blood. Utah is never as good on the road.

I am going to go to take a huge chance and say that Georgia is going to win the championship this year.

Very entertaining games yesterday. Really enjoyed the SC-UCLA game last night. Quite a shootout. Caleb Williams is the greatest QB in SC history going back 100 plus years. He reminds me a lot of Patrick Mahomes. He can do everything. The transfer portal has changed college football in a huge way. SC was a miserable sub .500 team last season. This year they are 10-1 and in the top ten.

They are the best football team in the state of Georgia, high school, college or NFL.

They are going to blitzkrieg their way to the title, will get tomato can TCU in the first game and whoever survives the second game.

No dispute here. Dawgs rule.

Georgia and Kirby Smart have had fantastic back to back seasons whatever happens in the playoffs. In the meantime LSU won’t lay down in the SEC championship game. The Dawgs should be highly motivated after last years drubbing in it by Alabama. Next week in state rival Ga Tech will play for pride but a Yellow Jacket upset would be a stunner.

I hope there is some hype about the Michigan/Ohio St. game this week! LOL. ESPN was already running the promos before the games played last weekend. They really go over the top about any rivalry. There should be a drinking game for each time a commentator points out that the teams "don't like each other."

Actually, I hate Ohio State, and Michigan, for that matter, because I root for Penn State. But I get it.

Prost!

Michigan vs. Ohio Stare, TCU vs. Kansas State, USC vs. ND……

None of it matters much as they are all cannon fodder for Georgia.

Georgia is good but they haven't exactly been blowing out teams. A 16-6 win last week against Kentucky. Georgia has a great defense but they are not a lock.

College football fans are too hung up on the score and margin of victory.

Wins, loses and performance matter the most.

College football is a wildly unpredictable game. Particularly the bowl games when the teams haven't played in weeks or longer and some key players decide to sit it out. Georgia has the best defense in college football, but their offense is hit and miss. When your D is shutting down opponents and getting the ball back to their offense, they should be scoring more than 16 points against teams like Kentucky.

Well, maybe. Time will tell. But certainly the Dawgs are guaranteed nothing.

Regardless, a Tech fan posted this earlier today🤪😀

“At noon we can watch Georgia players beat their future employers.”

Brutal loss for Ohio St. They got blown out at home. Probably cost Stroud the Heisman as well. I'm guessing they still get to the playoff, though. Imagine Michigan and Ohio St. having to play again.

If Caleb Williams doesn't win the Heisman, it will be a shame. He is far and away the best player in college football at this point. He put on a show against UCLA and ND. His numbers are eye popping. Over 40 TDs and just 3 INTs. And he is on a team that doesn't have a lot of depth. Without him USC is probably a .500 team at best instead of the top five.

If everyone wins out, it will be Georgia, Michigan, TCU and USC, tOSU is not getting in ahead of a one loss team that wins their conference, that's not going to happen.
