NCAA Football 2024 (4 Viewers)

The NCAA needs to forget about the conference championships and place more importance on strength of schedule. The top four ranked teams should get the bye regardless of conference. With over 100 teams, the strength of schedule varies wildly. A 11-1 team that plays no one is not better than a 9-3 team that plays several top ranked opponents. The best four teams are 1) Oregon; 2) Texas; 3) Georgia; and 4) Ohio St. Penn St., ND, and Bama are in the next tier. After that everyone else is a pretender that would be waxed by any of those teams. SMU? Boise St.? LOL

Don't disagree on this assessment, except for one team - not sold on Bama this year. (Watch, my biggest nightmare, they will get in and win it all)!

Why Arch Manning is not the starter i don't know. Missed opportunity for Texas.

The Texas-Georgia was a hot mess of penalties and dropped passes. I would pull for Texas but for woke Sark with his Charlie Brown head. He is a fraud riding the enormous football talent in the state of Texas. It's not the worst thing in the world, however, to lose a championship game and still go to the playoff. The winner won't play again for almost a month. Not sure that is an advantage. Better to win a home playoff game and be sharp for the next round.

I like Ohio St. to win it if they can shake the post-Michigan loss. Oregon showed last night that they are a big play finesse team. When Penn St. got physical it became a close game. Ohio St. can bring that physical play to them if it comes down to it.

The sideline reporter interview with Sark was..............something................"they need to start calling holding penalties on them!!"..............."Ok, over to you on the other sideline"...........

Awkward to say the least.

Any one of Oregon, Georgia, tOSU or Texas (please God, worth with me on this) could win it, I'm getting this feeling Texas will be losing, stick Crazy Legs Manning in there, go on a run and win the whole thing, then he'll get drafted by the Jets and torture me as a Patriots fan like those other two blockhead relatives of his, the Patriots have won 6 Super Bowls, could have been 10 were it not for those two ballbags.

I'm no fan of Kirby but I thought he coached up that Georgia team in the second half. The contrast with Sark was apparent. Looking down at that Denny's menu all night while Kirby ran up and down the sidelines. Texas is a very talented team. Any high school coach could have won ten games with their schedule. Sark is a very average coach who has failed upward. I haven't seen Manning play enough to know what he is like. Ewers appears to be an average QB who makes those bubble screen and sideline throws that Sark calls so much. So he is the guy.

I saw Manning play against Mississippi State and he is for real. Much bigger arm, no tentativeness and much more mobile. I was actually smiling when he took first play of OT until Ewers came back in. Sark is stuck on Ewers. And I agree that is a poor "coaching" decision at this point. Reminds me of when Sabin finally abandoned Hurts (who arguably has done just fine in the NFL) and put Tua in. At the time, it was the right call. I feel like Texas needs to look at this.

IMO the game was lost in the first half when you accumulate 279 yards of offense but only 6 points. They had Georgia, they lost it themselves with penalties, suspect offensive 2nd half play calls and honestly a little luck. End of regulation, if they come up with the end zone catch (where PI was finally called!), then they win with a little luck, but it was not meant to be, so they go on and have to play a home game, to Doug's point, maybe that helps and they get on a roll. Who knows, this is a nutso season of wins/losses. They have the talent, but can everything else fall in place that needs too...............

On to another farce, how the hell can Clemson who wins on last minute FG get an automatic bid to the playoff. What a crock, they are NOT a good FB team and they are a train wreck to watch, that is not entertaining FB. I hope they get blown out in the playoff by 40, maybe that will finally drill it in.

the committee has to get rid of seeding teams based on winning their conference, how is Clemson 5th in a 12 team playoff with three losses, they should just line them up 1-12 and go from there.

Oregon goes undefeated and gets screwed, they have to play tOSU AND Texas to get to the championship game, that's ridiculous.

You are not kidding. I just hope Texas doesn't lay an egg against Clemson, that would just about cause a coronary on this end. I have an extreme dislike for Clemson.

The automatic byes are not fair. I honestly think the top 4 teams are probably the same 4 that played last night in the Conf Championship. (I could argue Ohio St replacing Penn St if NOT for the absolute failure against Michigan, that was god awful). I think Penn St if they play the physical second half the whole way should go to the Semis.

I watched Boise on Friday night, still don't know if they are really good. Arizona State I think may be legit, they look well coached.

Takeaways for me:
A. Ad nauseum - Ewers is just not that good since injuries, he looks off, tentative and scared at times and nonchalant at others in a bad way.
B. Sark - Last night was arguably his worst coached half (second) of football in his tenure at Texas. 1st half was offense's fault, not his. They should have had 3 to 4 scores (at least 20 plus points, they got 6).
C. Clemson will play the victim all week. Dumbo was already lobbying for a first round bye arguing his team should be top 4 in the Country, etc. etc etc. Guess he forgot about his 3 losses, 2 to SEC teams that literally dismantled him and his game plan, another loss to Louisville badly and finally after being gifted a huge first half lead, wins on a miracle FG, yeah top 4 Dumbass.
D. Alabama arguably got screwed - they beat Georgia and Tennessee.
E. Miami got what they deserved, they were bubble all year long and it finally popped
F. Notre Dame coasted in to the playoffs - are they elite or not? I would argue the USC game exposed some flaws.
G. Georgia is a legit, resilient football team and they have an x factor - LUCK. Just look at the last two weeks, they found a way to win, could argue defense is still very elite.
H. Oregon - oof. I would be making sure I am having practices that are pushing endurance and physical defense. Penn State second half exposed a host of issues. It is odd, they are ranked #1, undefeated but IMO should be the most nervous.
I. Penn State - drew a seemingly easy way in to the Semis..........................still got to play the games and to be honest, they laid a lot of eggs this year, does their bubble finally break?
J. Arizona State - sleeper team, could easily get to semis if they are taken for granted.
K. Boise - they are rooting for SMU.
L. Tennessee - match up potentially well against Ohio State - unfortunately it is at Ohio State.

Don't knock it. Texas got a good draw playing Clemson. They should be a big favorite. And then they get ASU. Skatteboo is not only a great name but he is tough as nails. Texas should still win big, though. Sark's luck of a soft schedule continues.

Question - did Penn State get a better one? I feel like Oregon as #1 with a bye got the worst.

Yes, Penn St. got lucky as well. I would actually rather be Texas or Penn St than Oregon or Georgia if I understand how the bracket works. Oregon's reward for being #1 is to get the winner of the TN/Ohio St game after not playing for three weeks? Both those teams are light years better than ASU, Boise St or SMU. Georgia likely gets ND.

Of course, Texas has to actually beat Clemson first!

Not to worry. As much as I would love to see Sark's beady eyes dancing around his Charlie Brown head as another game slips away, Texas is going to romp Clemson. My predict is Texas 50 Clemson 14. ASU will be the bigger challenge. Skattebo is an old school monster.

Belicheat to UNC is a head scratcher. I'm sure they are paying him a mint but imagine him having to deal with the NIL and today's college football players. That won't end well.

Heard on the radio he, age 72, has a 24 yr old girlfriend.

Imagine if Arch Manning leaves Texas and goes to UNC; no wonder why Belichick went on that Manning Cast MNF program.

Can you imagine if that happens?

That's the rumor of the day right now.

Oh boy.

Of course but I highly doubt it. I think Coach fails at UNC. Not enough NIL money for football there imo. Also why would you leave a talent rich offense where your skills will shine next year and solidify you as a potential number one draft pick?
