Yes, he's pretty bad. That wasn't a good decision. However, I'm willing to wait see how the next two games play out.

Truth be told, I blame the coaches and management for this.

In all seriousness, he took them to back to back AFCCG's, that's no fluke, he is a good QB, but they messed with him, then they brought Tebow in and really messed with him, then drafted Smith and really, really messed with him.

He'd be better off somewhere else with a fresh start on a new team.

Steelers..................oh boy, Landry Jones should never be allowed to QB in a game. I know he is a rookie but my god, he not only telegraphs, but telephones, sends a cable, a tweet, a facebook post, etc. before he throws the ball. If the Redskins back up corners had more than stone for hands, that preseason game could have been 49 to 13.

I hope the Steelers figure something out before start of the season. Very sad to see Plax Burress go down as well as Spaeth. Probably the end of Plax and Spaeth will be back, but terrible start. On a note about Plax, yes he is a dummy and did some stupid things over his career, but I always considered him a "wannabe thug" and it seemed like the new start in Pittsburgh was helping him (getting his personal side in order) as well as allowing him to finish the game on a high note. Now, I guess Kharma caught up with him in some ways. AGain, sad to see any player end a career on a preseason injury.

I'm hoping my Raven offensive starters can do better in tommorow nites game, yea, I know it's only pre-season yada, yada, but Flacco hasn't looked that good, Rice hasn't had any holes to run in either of the 2 games and still trying to figure out if Jacoby Jones is still doing Dancing with the stars as he has 1 catch in 2 games^&confuse..hope to see D. Clark, Stokley get into some action as well...Sammy

I think it is still too tough to tell how they will be even after last nite's game. How did they look during last year's pre-season?

The Patriots got curb stomped by the Lions last night, an utter @#$%show from start to finish.

Only bright spot was the first string defense held the Lions to 16 points, not bad considering all the turnovers and excellent field position the Lions had to work with.

The offensive line looked brutal, Suh and his band of Visigoths put pressure up the middle on Brady, who's not very mobile and he did not look good. No running game to speak of either as again, no push at all up the middle. Why this team refuses to throw screen passes on teams that bull rush up the middle is beyond me, they just leave Brady out to dry as he stands back there looking to throw middle and deep routes all the time.

The second string defense got shredded by screens and tight end seam routes in the second half.

This team continues to get mauled by strong front fours; ever since the 2008 Super Bowl debacle to the 10-6 world champion Giants, this team gets pushed around by strong front fours; 2010 back to back trips to the AFCCG Jets, 2011 9-7 world champion Giants and the 2013 got hot for four games world champion Ravens are two more examples.

They looked just awful last night.

Ravens were up and down last pre-season, just like this year, overall the offense moved the ball decent last nite, but when you give up 4 tds on turnovers/special teams well exspect to lose!! Raven starting defense played great, and kept the game close (as it could be) still thinking they will have to go out and find another wide reciever vet, one pre-season game left to get through then onto Denver!!...Sammy

Gino Smith started the all important third game tonight vs the four time Super Bowl Champion New York Football Giants.

So far through the first half, he's 11/25 for 134 yards and a touchdown.

And, three INT's.

Two of which were positively Sanchezian.

Looks like the Smith error is off to a flying start.

And the icing on the cake; Rex, the brilliant coach that he is, decides to throw Sanchez into the game behind a second/third string line made up of guys that in a week or so will be wearing paper hats asking you if you want fries with that and Sanchize gets sacked and hurts his shoulder.

You can't make this stuff up, what a trainwreck.

I'm going miss Rex when he's gone "I'm not here to kiss Belichick's rings"........no Rex, you sure aren't.

Ryan should have been fired as he walked off the field. The Jets are a complete mess.

I didn't see the game as I was up in Connecticut, not that I would have watched it anyway as it's only pre-season -- yawn -- but after the game he apparently got defensive, said it was important to win the game and at one point turned his back on the media.

He should have been let go last year when they brought in a new GM. He will be let go anyway at the end of the season.

That's unusual behavior for Rex, he loves talking to the media and being an entertainer up there, it's like he's on the stage for their amusement; in the old days, if he turned his back on the media, they could show movies on it, he's lost a ton of weight, I barely recognized him on the sidelines.

And you are 100% correct; you never keep a coach when you bring a new GM in, you always let the GM bring a hand picked guy in to run the team, keeping Rex was idiotic.

I give you Gino Smith ladies and gentlemen;

It's a safety either way as there wasn't a receiver within 5 miles of that throw; that said, an NFL QB has to know where the end zone line is there.

In his defense, I saw this happen recently in a game, only thing is, it was a pop warner game and the QB was seven.

Eli was no world beater last night either; that said, it's going to be glorious when the 6-10 Giants win the AFC East and win the Super Bowl in February in what will amount to a home game for them, giving them a combined 25-23 regular season record in their last three super bowl winning seasons.

How truly awesome is that, right Louis?

Imagine Tom @#$%ing Coughlin with more Super Bowl wins than HOF coach Bill Parcells??

TOM COUGHLIN.

I just want to know who tabbed Gino Smith as a franchise savior? It seems as though people are in shock at how poorly he has played.

Yes, Tom Coughlin. He only has two rings but maybe a third will be a possibility. Maybe Bill will have to kiss Tom's rings :wink2:

George,

All I have to say in response is what is the mighty Patriots' record against the NFC East? If your team played in the NFC East you would post 9-7 and 10-6 records too, and if the Giants played in the pathetic AFC East like the Patriots, you could pencil the Giants in for 12 wins every year too. Your Pats have 6 pretty much guaranteed wins every year against the pathetic Jets, Bills and Dolphins, while the Giants are grinding it out against the almost always tough Eagles, Red Skins and Cowboys. That's why the Giants are able to beat all those teams from easy divisions with better records in the playoffs, like, oh yeah, the Patriots - twice.{sm4}

You're kidding me right Louis? The always tough Eagles, Redskins and Cowboys? How many playoff games have the Cowboys won in the past ten years? How about none. The Iggles? How many playoff games have they won since their last trip to the Super Bowl? The Redskins have stunk on ice to quote you until RGIII showed up last year.

The Jets were a very good team in 2009 and 2010, back to back trips to the AFCCG, the Dolphins are an up and coming team that always plays the Patriots hard. The Bills, granted, are terrible.

The last time two times the Patriots played the NFC East, they went 7-1, the only loss was a last minute miracle win by the Giants (is there any other way they manage to beat the Patriots?) and if they played in the NFC East, they'd go 4-2, 5-1 without breaking a sweat.

Nice try.

Really . . .

How many times have NFC East Teams won the Super Bowl . . . lets see, the Cowboys have 6, the Giants have 4, the Red Skins have 3, only the Eagles have been shut out. Meanwhile the mighty AFC East have 7, if you count the Jets "win" in 1969. And if you look at the last 30 years its even more stark: The Giants have 4, the Red Skins have 3 and the Cowboys have 3. The Patriots have 3, and the rest of the division . . . goose eggs.

Miami has stunk on ice since about 5 years before Dan Marino retired, the Bills, with the exception of the 4 year super bowl losing streak, have pretty much stunk my entire life, and the Jets are flat out terrible 9 years out of every 10. Pre-Brady, the Patriots were also bad most of the time (a couple of good seasons in the 70's, the 1985 Super Bowl loss to the Bears and a couple of seasons under Bill Parcells being the only non-Brady good years I can remember).

The Red Skins had a down period, but even when they were bad they played tough against division rivals. The Eagles always lose the big one, but you could pencil them in for 10-12 wins every year. The Cowboys are also post-season choke artists since Romo came around, but generally play tough in the division until December. And as far as the Patriots being 7-1 against the NFC East, I guess Super Bowls don't count in your world? Because the Giants have won 3 out of the last 4 against the Pats, and the only loss, in the last game of the 16-0 regular season, was by less than a touchdown.

I know that the Giants, with the exception of the one loss to the Patriots, have feasted on the AFC East, going 3-1 and 4-0 in the regular season meetings in their 10-6 and 9-7 Super Bowl seasons (plus the 2 Super Bowl wins) . . . so that leaves them 7-5 and 5-7 against the rest of the league those years. I guess the AFC East just doesn't stack up. But then you know that, George, you watch those pathetic Jets, Bills and Dolphins teams get knocked around by your Patriots every year (and by pretty much everyone else). The Jets made it to the AFC Championship because (1) Peyton Manning took a half off, and (2) your team decided to mail it in the next year. They were what, 8-8 the first run to the AFC Championship? Miami has made the playoffs what, once in the last decade? And for the Bills its even worse.

I know if they offered the Giants the chance to change places with the Patriots, with the Giants going to the AFC East and the Pats going to the NFC East, it would be a no-brainer from the Giants perspective to make the switch. Ask yourself George, would the Patriots be willing to make that move?:wink2:
