Dominating win by NE. Congratulations to them and to you, George, and any other NE fans on the forum. One thing I think I can be sure of in the SB is this, Seattle WILL NOT do to NE what they did to Denver.:salute:: -- Al

I second that! Congratulations to the Patriots and George.

I hope they bring home another title.

When GB got that interception in the last quarter they played that set of plays like it was game over they did nothing with it in quick time and gave the ball back ^&confuse^&confuse

Wayne,
That puzzled me as well, and really defined "playing not to lose". Coach McCarthy went ultra-conservative and shut it down too early, and I said so as I was watching it happen. Also, I wondered aloud why GB safety # 42 gave himself up at midfield after he corralled Wilson's fourth int. Seems to me he had a shot at navigating his way through a bunch of scattered linemen & Wilson for a potential pic 6. Again, playing not to lose. GB took it's foot off the gas, lost their edge and Seattle, to their credit, took full advantage.

Exactly mate why he didn't keep running after the interception is beyond me,if they had got with in field goal range or a TD then different game different result i reckon.
When Wilson got their 2nd TD one of the GB blokes pate him on the shoulder smiling as if to say to nice TD but to late mate.

Well Butch (Wayne) here we are, Super Bowl III, or Super Soldier III that is!!:) your pick as usual if you want in??...Sammy

Mate i can't go past New England i think Seattle played there SB today plus that Wilson crying turned me off them big time ^&grin^&grin

This probably will not be popular but a quick tip of the cap to the Colts and Andrew Luck. There will be a time when he gets to the Super Bowl.

Now go Patriots!!!!

Had a great, great time yesterday, the rain held off until about the start of the third quarter, then it came down in buckets, had my wet weather gear on, so it was all good, I was bone dry.

The crowd was crazy, nobody and I mean nobody sat down the entire game, that was pretty awesome to see everyone standing the whole game and wow, was that place loud.

Now granted, we were no 12th man as Seattle invented noise and cheering and all, but it was great.

Speaking of Seattle; we were watching the first half in the parking lot, then caught the tail end of the game in the stadium on the big screen TV;s are you ****ting me or what? The onside kick recovery was one thing, but that wounded duck/prayer two point conversion was something else; despite all nonsense, had they not converted that, GB wins on the last second 48 yard field goal.

Anyway, again the game was great; at one point when it was 31-7 and it was raining buckets, the PA system cranked "Who'll stop the rain" by CCR, the crowd went crazy. The trophy presentation was great to see live too; you see so much more of what goes on on the field when you see the game live, nothing quite like it. So happy for Revis, he finally gets to go to the Super Bowl, was hoping he'd take that INT to the house.

This is going to be hopefully a great super bowl, a war, we'll see what Belichick the defensive genius is able to do vs Wilson and if he can figure out that Seattle defense.

The Hoodie vs Pete the gum chewing Poodle.

If I can score tickets, maybe good old Sammy will let me crash on his couch............:wink2:

George...to answer your question...

Seattle is opening as a 2 1/2 point favorite...

I think I will try to get my bet in early...I think the line will go down...

I'll take Brady and anything for that game...

One thing I've concluded. Enough with the replay reviews. Those should only be used on touchdowns and turnovers. Creepiest commercial goes to those endless Rob Lowe bits where he plays himself and then his hillbilly/nerd counterpart. Of course most of the football audience is more like the latter. That Dr. Pepper guy is a real close second. He looks like some kind of deviant out on work release.

Good; let Pete the Poodle and The Legion of Boom be the favorites.

And for what it's worth, inside information for you Mike; the Patriots are going to do things on offense and defense in this game that will be totally unexpected, Pete the Poodle had better do his homework.

And if Sherman's wing is still banged up, they will attack it; look for Gronk out wide on him.

All good on this end George, got plenty of room for you and a extra fridge in the garage for some cold ones and steaks!! Just have to get your own tickets for the game :)...Sammy

The bookies are nuts. How can you make a game a 'pick 'em' when the Qb of one team is Tom Brady? All this guy does is win. Even the 2 SB's the Pats lost took miracle plays to beat Brady. As long as Brady is playing, the Pats are the favorites. -- Al

I don't have a dog in this fight, as they say but I'm not sure why this is seen as a pick 'em game.

I seem to recall that Denver was a huge favorite last year and we know what happened in the Meadowlands.

Seattle played their worst game this season in all phases of the game but still -- miraculously, and thanks in part to GB -- won the game. I don't see their playing another terrible game this time. Patriots beat a Colts team that, but for Luck, would have been a four win team. Luck hides a lot of flaws that the Colts have but against good teams they are exposed. Had Manning been healthy, the Colts would have not played in yesterday's game. At any rate, you can't tell that much about the Patriots from yesterday's game just as you can't tell that much about the Seahawks from yesterday's game.

I'm sure that both coaches will have a thing or two of their sleeves but with two weeks to prepare, I can't imagine anything that will take them by complete surprise.

I just can't see the Seahawks not repeating, sorry George. Hopefully, it's a close game. The last thing non-fans of these teams want is a game that you tune out by halftime.

"Deflategate"...

the most bizarre conspiracy allegation theory yet...

congrats George...

there may be as many NE Pat's haters as there are Dallas Cowboy's haters...^&grin

what happened to losing gracefully?

these were definitely posted by NE haters or Colt's fans...

Well day one of the super bowl hype is over.

So far, from what I'm reading and seeing, the Patriots should just stay home and not bother to make the trip. The NFL network had about two hours today dedicated to the Seattle/Green Bay game and the commentators went above and beyond the call of duty explaining all the things Seattle did right to win the game, nothing about what Green Bay did wrong to lose it.

Nothing about the bone headed personal foul call on the first INT that set Green Bay up first and goal from the 17 instead of the 2, a drive that resulted in 3 points instead of 7.

Nothing about the INT Rodgers threw in the end zone.

Nothing about the INT with 5 minutes to go where there was a wall set up on the left side of the field and instead, the defender hit the ground and Green Bay then went 3 and out and punted back to Seattle.

Nothing about the inability of the Green Bay defender to knock down that punt that Wilson threw for the two point conversion.

Nothing about the idiot back up tight end who's job was to BLOCK, not to field the ball as if he had done his job, the ball goes right to Nelson, game over.

Great, the win was all on how great Seattle is.

Good, keep thinking that way.

Green Bay laid the blue print on how you beat Seattle; attack the middle of the field with tight ends and slot receivers and on offense, shadow Wilson, keep him in the pocket and take away his outside receivers on defense.

We'll see what the Patriots come up with on defense and offense; Belichick is a defensive specialist, so we'll see what he comes up with to surprise the Seahawk defense and the Seahawk offense.

Tell you what Brad; if the Patriots lose, so be it, it wasn't meant to be. Six Super Bowls in fourteen years and nine AFCCG's is not to shabby, you only have one winner every year when the dust settles.

Not to mention as was said on ESPN today, the Patriots are already the favorites to get back to the Super Bowl again next year, the Ravens are their biggest competitor in the AFC and might have something to say about that, which I also agree with.

As far as deflategate; I don't see how deflating a ball favors New England; the fact of the matter is between spygate, deflategate and the formations the Patriots have been using on offense the past couple of weeks tells me people are looking under rocks to find out what the Patriots are doing and how are they able to be so successful for so long.

Keep looking for things that aren't there; fact is they have the best coach, quarterback and ownership in the NFL.

That's how they've been so successful; it begins and ends there.
