Nfl season 2017-2018 (2 Viewers)

Gooddell's newest counter proposal for his 2018 contract renewal...
is for $50 million per year...
yes...that's right...
$50 million per year...
life time use of a private jet...
yes lifetime...
and life time enrollment for him in his family in a health insurance program...
again...yes...lifetime...

that would make him the highest paid person/player/coach...etc... in the NFL...
over all players in the NFL...
and even making more than some NFL owners make a year...

his contract is considered by 6 NFL owners and the other 26 have no say so in it...

Jones is asking for transparency in making all the details of the contract known...
and is asking for a vote from all 32 owners instead of the 6 on the committee...

Jeb Bush...
the governor of Florida...
cited considering this well paid...
job when he dropped out of last years election...

even if Gooddell was doing a fantastic job...
don't his terms sound a little too lucrative?

Mike,
Thanks for posting this; just when I thought my opinion of him couldn't sink any lower............................unbelievable gall.....................wasn't aware that only 6 owner had to sign off and the other 26 have no say, there's something wrong about that process.

I think the owners could overlook Goodell’s mistakes when the league was consistently making money but when economic growth has stalled, his mistakes in other areas are magnified and starting to contribute to the league’s economic malaise. I think that is why Jones is unhappy, not the Elliott thing. Goodell has severely mishandled the anthem mess and this has contributed to their economic problems.

Couldn't agree more; as long as the owners are making money, everything is swell, but viewership is down, attendance at games is down, they are feeling it in their collective wallets....................

I may be wrong on this...listen to this video and see how you interpret it...

http://www.espn.com/video/clip?id=21386441

I know there is a 6 man committee that accepts or arbitrates the terms...
perhaps they just agree to present the terms to the vote of all the owners...

I think all Jones is asking for is to be able to view all the details of the deal on the table...

but back to the original point...that's a lot of money...

watch the guys facial expressions when they disclose the terms...

He wants more than some owners make off of their teams and more than the highest paid player in the league; wow.....................

McAdoo should be left on the tarmac, he's more like McAdon't................or McAdone................that team has officially quit on their coach and when asked about it after the game, he said "Ah........................................................................................................................................................................................"...............what a terrible hire.

I don’t think anyone could have predicted a loss like this. The Giants made the Niners look like world beaters.

I assume they’ll let him finish out the season but I’d fire him now. I know in season firings don’t normally happen in the NFL but I don’t see the point of keeping him around.

Brad:

Agreed. That is not the Niners I have seen all season. I'll take the win but it is clear that the Giants are a mess.

Bill Parcels said that he trusts the Maras will do the right thing, all but calling for Reese’s and McAdoo’s jobs. They should both be fired immediately. What a disgrace this season has been.

I am not taking away anything from the Patriot's defense, but the Broncos' offense is anemic.

I am just happy the Steelers survived to fight another day. God can they sure look amateur. I don't understand why they are not blowing teams like the Colts out, it is horrid the way they played. Bright spot of the day was Martavius Bryant, great 2pt catch and great key 3rd down catch on the winning drive. He looks like a different guy.

It may be a tie...

"The Next Man UP"...Player of the Year Award goes to...

either Dallas Cowboy Chaz Green...or Byron Bell...his replacement when Green was pulled in the 3rd quarter...

Green...was put in as next man up..
and started for injured 4 time Pro Bowler OT Tyron Smith...
against Atlanta's Adrian Clayborn...

Green did an outstanding job Sunday...

giving up 4 sacks and 8 hits while protecting Dak Prescott...

he was pulled in the 3rd quarter and replaced with Byron Bell...

who promptly gave up 4 sacks of his own to Prescott...

Prescott was sacked eight times, six by defensive end Adrian Clayborn...

Green and Bell...two future superstars...{eek3}

It is laughable that Goodell would receive anything other than a boot in his backside on the way out the door much less $50 million/yr. He has taken one of the most successful sports leagues in history and watched it burn to the ground. He is an incompetent fraud.

There are some great football minds on this thread so I am hoping someone can explain the Miami Dolphins to me?

In the past three weeks in a row (including tonight) they have played in each of the prime time games. Two weeks ago they played on Thursday Night Football, last week they played on Sunday Night Football and tonight they play on Monday Night Football?

That game proves the old adage that it's better to be lucky than good; how that team is 7-2 is beyond my comprehension, I watched most of that game and they played like crap for three quarters and were down 17-3, yet somehow stole that game.

And man is your coach brain dead; challenging a fumble when momentum was stopped and the whistle blew?

My friends 12 year old knows you can't challenge a play once it's blown dead/ruled that forward progress is stopped; the kicker was him arguing the point regardless.

They've played the march of the tomato cans this year, I can see them finishing 13-3 with at worst the #2 seed.

The mind reels.

I am not taking away anything from the Patriot's defense, but the Broncos' offense is anemic.

The highlight of that game last night was when Collinsworth was babbling late in the game about how great Ostelburgermystermysterburger looked and right om cue he tried to jam a pass into triple coverage that got picked off.

He's God awful.

Good job Elway throwing away two years of a SB caliber defense on a bunch of stiffs at QB; this fan base should count their blessings that they won a SB two years ago when Elway pulled a boneheaded move and replaced Ostelburgermystermysterburger with the corpse of Manning and it worked out.......................

The frustrating thing for me is that they have I think one of the most talented teams in the league, but the way they are playing is just awful at times, yet when it matters, they seem to pull it out. I just don't think that carries the day when it gets late in the season! One thing I liked was the play of Bryant, he seemed into the game for the most part which is an improvement. Ju Ju is going to be really good I think over time. Maybe Ben is just winding down, he is not as consistent in his throws. His mind still looks good, but execution not so much. It was nice to get Tuitt back on D line, he is a Hoss!

The challenge I agree you can't in those situations, but bad call on ref's part, the guy was still moving and he fumbled. That was infuriating, but yes you can't challenge those. Kind of dumb when the replay shows it exactly!

Speaking of Tomato Cans, is there any team in the NFL that is not one this year? Seems like an awful lot of mediocrity, more so than usual. I mean crap, we lost to Jacksonville and Chicago and we looked like the can in those games!

The call on the fumble was total BS; his forward progress was not stopped, he was twisting his body when he fumbled, just a bad call.

Speaking of bad calls, not that it mattered as the Patriots curb stomped Denver, but Gronk caught that pass for a TD; both hands under the ball, no bobble, no movement, no nothing, but the call on the field stood.

The whole review process is a farce; the majority of the time, the ruling on the field stands even when it is clearly the wrong call; what's the problem, they don't want to hurt the blind 105 year old part time ref's feelings? If the call is wrong on the field, then do the right thing and reverse it.

And yes, this league is beyond mediocre, no great teams anymore, they all are flawed in one way or another..............
