Nfl season 2017-2018 (1 Viewer)

I heard a hilarious quote from an announcer this weekend about Jacksonville and their great defense:

"The Jacksonville defense has only one weakness, Blake Bortles"

He's hot garbage.

How about the Bills switching QB's for no good reason and the stooge they put in there throws 900 INT's, then Taylor gets in there and lights up the Chargers.

Just stupid, stupid, stupid.

A commentator on the NFL network made an interesting comment; he said "The Patriots are at the point where they are in everyone's head, players make stupid mistakes trying to do too much, they feel pressure and melt under it"..............witness the Raiders throwing up all over themselves yesterday in Mexico.

HFA in the AFC comes down to NE/PITT on December 17th, the winner of that game gets it.

Might as well just skip the playoffs and just have the Dec.17th winner go to the Superbowl..... No one else in the AFC seems to want to make a difference.

I still can't believe how badly the Chefs crashed and burned, they looked like a team that had a shot to go undefeated, now they will be lucky to win the division.

NFL football is a week to week rock fight.

Watching the Patriots and Raiders wasn't a complete waste of time. There was a laughable moment after one of Cook's long catches the Raiders' safety and corner literally looked at each and said I thought you had him? Seriously? What is this two hand touch at the corner lot with your friends?

George,
unfortunately, I am still not a believer in the Steelers yet. Lot of wins, but some are not exactly world class. One positive was they are starting to amp up man to man coverage. I know on Thursday got beat long on one play, but I would rather do that than let what happened to them in the AFCG last year. Brady tore the zone up and a good QB will do that if they play that **** coverage zone. Need to mix it up. I am just not sure which Steelers O shows up week to week.

The best part about the Bills QB situation is that today the head coach, Sean McDermott, said that they are still evaluating the QB position. Meaning what? This week they might start the guy who threw 5 interceptions in one half?

Brady put on a clinic yesterday, he's a surgeon out there, now he and Cooks are on the same page, two long bombs yesterday, one for an easy TD.

Put Hogan and Cooks wide, Amendola in the slot, Gronk and Bennett in a double tight end set, or take Bennett out and put White in and sorry, no defense in the NFL can cover everyone, zone or man to man.

The defense has made an incredible turnaround, even with their best player and defensive captain Hightower out; Van Noy has been all over the field this year, their secondary is shut down at this point.

December 17th can't come fast enough......................I think that regardless of the outcome, it will be a preview of the AFCCG, just a question of where it will be played.

Last sentence, I hope you are correct, I think this is Ben's last run, he looks like he is ready to walk away. I would not be surprised if you don't hear a "Ray Lewis" retirement statement should they make the playoffs.

My only bright spot is if the Ravens defense can save this season, they have 3 shutouts so far and the NFL total is 7, so they own nearly half!! one thing I know after living through Tony Banks, Trent Dilfer back in 2001 is that if you can have a solid defense going into December and a chance come January playoffs, who knows what can happen?? or if Flacco can find some magic left in that arm from 2012?? lots of hoping and dreaming here but one never knows in this sport.

Sammy:

I would take Flacco and the Ravens' defense over Bortles and the Jaguars' defense. Bortles is just awful and Flacco has a Super Bowl ring.

After the arse whipp'n the Jags gave the Ravens in London I'm not so sure I want any of that action Jason...44-7 it was pretty ugly, but you never know how it's going to play out from week to week.

Sammy:

I get it, that was an ugly loss but that was also in week 3. I hope the Ravens get the wildcard and along with it another shot at the Jags.

I'd still take Flacco over Bortles. ^&grin

Ah, week 3 :(...I find it ironic that I was talking to Tom Dubel in the Treefrog room in Chicago and he was telling me how the Steelers would lose to the Bears!! and I'm like you crazy Tom, Steelers would win easy, also told him I had a bad feeling about the Jag game, he mentioned Ravens should win.....Bears won in ot, Ravens got destroyed....I guess we both know our teams pretty good. ^&grin^&grin

I can't tell you how it would warm my heart to see the Patriots bust their ***** and get the #1 seed and in the second round have the 11-5/10-6 red hot Ravens come to Foxboro for a playoff game......................................Yeah, that would be just swell...................:rolleyes2:

well we would know one thing..it would probably be another great playoff game between the 2, if it followed the last 2-3 game trend, but my boys are along way from a #2 round, at this rate I'm just hoping we make the dance.

Meanwhile, I am just glad the Niners won a game in 2017!

One decent game today, one clunker (good Christ are the Cowboys terrible) and a nightcap that just defies description.

I read a comment on another message board as follows "Eli needs to retire now before people forget his two Super Bowl wins and remember him as a ****ty quarterback"...................

Too late for that, he is a ****ty quarterback who fell *** backwards into two Super Bowl wins, specifically two miracle game ending drives.

Unbelievable.

An abysmal second half by the Giants offense, as bad as there could be.

If the Giants are in contention for one of the top QBs in the draft, they should think about drafting one; the GM was said to be at the USC game last weekend.
