Nfl season 2017-2018 (1 Viewer)

I can guarantee my son will be watching and I will keep an eye on the score.

Jason, have you been to Levi Stadium?

Brad

Brad:

I have been to 3 games.

The best I can say, and I never thought this was possible, but the new stadium actually made me miss Candlestick.

I am a football junky. I watch all games no matter the matchup.... and even I had a lot of trouble finishing Thursday's game. What a snooze fest. I thought I was watching a new show called NFL's punters on the loose! Zzzzzzzz

And the hits just keep coming :mad: the Ravens must be trying to set a world record for most players injured and put on season ending I.R...unbelievable??? lose our best o lineman today in Yanda and a rook also goes down just for good measure, just haven't seen anything like it the last few years, how can 1 team be so snake bitten?? oh well, good win today but ****ty injury report.

More good news for the NFL: The Texas/USC game outdrew the homegames of the Rams and the Chargers, combined. It appears LA doesn't love the NFL like the NFL loves the NFL. -- Al

Giant fans don't look like a happy lot, especially on that punt return.

Dear Louis,
You were right, I was wrong.

The Giants are awful football team.

George

I told you the Giants were going to stink on ice this season. You cannot win without a capable offensive line, and the Giants O-line is the worst in the NFL. Using Flowers at left tackle is going to get Eli killed. They need to offer their first round draft pick to a crappy team with a good left tackle if they want to do anything at all this season.

The NFL really blew it with the Rams. Letting them move to St. Louis and having no LA team for decades. Then suddenly moving two teams into the market at the same time. The Chargers have no business there. Just another example of why the NFL is blowing what was a sure thing just a few years ago. Once these teams have new mega stadiums it might be a different story but if you don't field a winner in LA there are always going to be empty seats.

In honor of my Dad who passed away Sunday, I plan on watching tomorrow night's game in its entirety. He was a dedicated Niner fan who never missed a broadcast of one of their games.

I'm not much of a '49 er fan, but just for your 'Pops" Jason I'm all in for San Fran on Thursday!!!!!

Sammy:

Thanks, I think they will need all the help and support they can get.

And funny you should use the name "Pops", my wife among others called him that!

Best with thanks for all of your well-wishes,

-Jason

My son, who is a big 49er fan doesn't think they have a chance. The defence has played well but they have no O line and Hoyer is terrible.

Hoyer used to belong to my golf club.... he’s better at football! 😜

While a win would certainly be nice, I think I will spend most of the game reminiscing about watching Niner games with my Dad, while I fight the sorrow of knowing I will never watch another game with him.

Checked in on the game to see the score and what I see is that Thursday Night Football has apparently been renamed as Godawful Uniform Night. :rolleyes2: Make it stop! -- Al

Researchers have examined Aaron Hernandez's and determined that he had the worst CTE they had ever seen in a player that age. His brain was the equivalent of a 67 year old player.

Sounds like his brain was terribly torn up, but you wonder how much of that damage potentially came from things outside of football like gang brawls, drugs, etc. Surely there is at least some correlation to football over many years of practice and games played, but how does one experimentally isolate potential extraneous confounding variables that may weaken (or strengthen) correlation strength between solely football related trauma vs non-football related injury?
