I liked the original post better :wink2:

Looks like Seabrook will be missing some games with that hit.

So did I, but there's no swearing here on the TFT forum, the gift that keeps on giving...................

That was a vicious hit. I'm surprised Backes got up after that. You could see the cuckoo birds flying around his head. How about those Blue Jackets? They are holding their own with the Pens and now heading home.

They are younger, faster and want it more than Pittsburg does, Sid the kid is doing his usual disappearing act in the playoffs.

And to think I wanted Columbus instead of the Red Wings; they should be up 2-0 as they blew a 3-1 lead in game one.

Right now in the East, the #7 and #8 seeds are in the drivers seat, both stole HIA in their series already.

Maybe the key to winning a cup is to be mediocre all year, lay in the weeds and turn it on in the playoffs.

What a concept.

I'm missing this game due to my wife's Easter regulations prohibiting TV or specifically the viewing of the wings. But from checking the espn website with my cell it appears Detroit is getting smoked today. I recorded the game so I'll check it out later and see what happened.

Probably wise of Smith to keep the gloves on.Chara is a big man, that would not have ended well!!!lol

Yep, same here, Mama bear is hard core Greek, no TV's during Easter Sunday dinner; Lamb, rice, green beans in marinara sauce, garlic bread, feta, greek olives, salad, then homemade apple pie for desert.

That's worth no hockey for one day.............:wink2:

Nice to see a small market team with no big names playing with the mighty Pens. They are a complete team so it's no fluke. Hope they keep it up. One thing for sure is they are pushing the Pens around and exposing some of their soft defense. Now it's time for some no dose to catch the Kings at 10 tonight. The Nhl does it's best to make sure no one watches a game out west.

Watching Montreal/Tampa right now; Bettman in his best Sterns impersonation sends a rookie ref to Montreal for a playoff game, naturally he blows a call disallowing a goal that shouldn't have been.

Prior to that, he misses an interference call where Stamkos gets hurt.

Montreal is out of time outs, so their goalie fakes an equipment problem to ice Tampa.

Montreal is insufferable.

My Kings got thrashed again. The best defensive team in hockey gives up 13 goals in the first two games of the series. They went seven games with SJ last year and gave up a total of 10 in the entire series. Not a pretty sight.

I see I didn't miss much on Easter. Horrible game for the wings. The wings didnt stand much of a chance in this one. Howards gift to the Bruins and the penalties they took early were enough to see that this was gonna be a Bruin win.

Yes, I think I read that the Bruins have not lost two games in a row all season. It would've been a tough nut to win the first two in Boston in the playoffs. Game three will be huge for Detroit. It gets interesting if they get that one and have another shot at home.

Is it just me or does Quick seem to be off his game? I do not recall him giving up so many rebounds in the past etc.

Pittsburg survives Fleury soiling himself early and a 3-1 deficit to win the game 4-3; just saw a news report that irate Blue Jackets fans stormed out of the arena and have already flipped over several covered wagons in downtown Columbus, Barney Fife and Andy Taylor did their best but could not control the angry mob...................the key to winning a game in this series is spotting the other team a 3-1 lead.

Hopefully the PENS finally woke up. Doubt it though, they just don't seem to care to win in the playoffs until last night's potential embarassment factor starting creeping in...........

Pittsburgh reminds me of Chicago. They can play horribly for most of the game and then turn it on to rip off two or three goals. I was hoping for an upset, but you can't blow those leads at home. The Jackets probably get one more win in this series. Philly-Pittsburgh would be a fun series. Those teams hate each other and Philly seems to had their number recently.

The Kings are maddening. There have been stretches this season when they were the best team in the NHL. Other times they can't buy a win. They have to play a smothering, physical style of play that keeps the score low and close. They had lots of 2-1 or 3-2 games during the regular season. I never expected that the Sharks could play a faster tempo and get the odd man rushes that they did in the first two games. Quick made a ton of saves in the first period of game 2 when the Kings were up 2-0, but that is impossible to keep up for the entire game. SJ must have had over 40 shots. The Kings typically hold teams to about half that when they are playing their game. Quick doesn't usually face that kind of pressure. I think they said the home team has won something like 23 out of the last 25 games in this matchup. So the Kings couild still do a Jekyll and Hyde act and get themselves back on track at home. But it hasn't been pretty so far. I expect the Kings to turn up the physical play tonight.

Of the 3 games so far in the Blues-Hawks series last nights game, even tho the Blues lost, was the best game the Blues played. Miller gave up a goal a beer league goalie could have stopped then he turned it around and stoned the Hawks. Unfortunetly Chicagos goalie was perfect.
The Hawks don,t worry me any more, they can be beat.

Tom:

Sorry for stating the obvious, but Malkin and Crosby have got to start scoring if Pittsburgh is going to go anywhere in these playoffs.

Nice win in Detroit tonight by the Black and Gold, they went up early 2-0 and then sat on the lead, Detroit carried the play for the last half of the second period and about 5 minutes of the third, Bruins got an empty net goal to end it.

They've outscored Detroit 7-2 and have taken back HIA, keep it going Thursday night boys.
