Whoever wins the LA, St Louis series will be to beatup to continue!
It is a pure war on ice in this matchup.

Old school hockey for sure. Brutal hitting. The Kings have 3 goals in 3 games. The Blues have taken away Kopitar and Carter. Those guys are going to have to find some offense to win this series. Quick has been outstanding.

The folks in Vancouver cannot be happy. They take their hockey very seriously. The Kings swept them last year and they are down 0-3 to the Sharks in a series where most thought they would win. The goalie for Vancouver wanted out this year. Not a great sign.

Islanders are giving Pittsburgh a fight that's for sure. It's going to be a struggle. Penguins will probably win in the end but a seven game series wouldn't surprise me.

I guess they do take their hockey seriously, witness them almost burning down the city the game 7 loss vs the Bruins in the finals a couple of years ago.................

Rangers make it a series. Let's see what happens Wednesday.

Nice impression of a sieve tonight by Smotlzy, I'm sure he'll stand on his head in game 4 because that's what Smoltzy does in the playoffs.

The Kings, Red Wings and Rangers all got must win games last night at home. The biggest surprise so far is San Jose taking it to Vancouver and the Islanders giving the Pens a run. I'm not surprised though that Minnesota is holding its own with the Blackhawks. Chicago peaked early and is not a very physical team. The Wild are playing hard.

I'm very impressed with all you Americans discussing hockey in such an intelligent fashion. I thought only us Canucks loved the game. As far as the playoffs go my first and last words will forever be GO LEAFS GO! ^&grin

Fleury looks like a ball in tall grass, totally lost at this point between the pipes, 15 goals in the last three games, not good at all and the series is tied 2-2.

The Islanders are a good, young team; there's still time for you to climb on the Islanders bandwagon there Louis, plenty of room on there for you........

And the Senators tie up game 4 2-2 with less than a minute left.

Poor Habs, if they lose tonight, they're toast.

Isles game was exciting. Not sure how that last goal got in.

The Pens fans on this Forum must be chewing their nails down to a nub.

I'll say it again, there really is nothing quite like NHL playoff hockey, it's a different animal than any other sport.

Fleury looks lost out there, a cardboard cut out could have stopped that shot; big difference between playoff hockey and playing the Columbus Blue Jackets on a Tuesday night in February...............

Fleury wasn't exactly inspiring confidence beating himself in the head on the bench. Losing Crosby and changing the lineup when they were red hot hasn't helped. They are still the front runners in the East. I think the Caps have a chance to knock them off though. So much for Vancouver. Swept in the first round for the second year. The suicide hotlines up there must be busy today.

He did a terrible job in stopping that goal. Maybe he was a little ansty to get off the ice.

What a shock it would be if the Isles could steal game 5 in Pittsburgh and come home to close it out.

Too bad for the fans that they won't be on LI much longer. The owner tried to get a new place to pay but the voters kept turning it down so it's onto Brooklyn in a couple of years.

The only thing I have to say about the results of all four games last night is .....^&grin^&grin^&grin^&grin

Have a nice summer Luongo ..... hope your golf cart is all charged-up.

one defeat hardly constitutes being out of the play-offs , we just wanted to seal the deal on our own ice :)

sidney back to his best and neal skating again - bring the cup home.

I assume he and Tom are blowing gaskets!

Absolutely shocked quite honestly. Just unbelievable, but it seems Pburgh sports have been quite "contrary" this year, so nothing I guess surprises me. I still feel like the Pens are the real deal, just need to execute and not allow an upset. Who knows?

Brad,
So the stadium where the Brooklyn Nets currently play is also suited for hockey?

So are they changing their name to the Brooklyn Islanders for the next couple of years?

Why aren't they staying in Brooklyn for good and where are they rumored to be heading?

And your right; they finally get good after years of being a doormat and now they are leaving, that stinks.

George,

I believe the Barclay Center is suitable for hockey. However, it doesn't hold as many for hockey as other arenas, such as MSG.

I don't think they'll be changing their name.

They currently play and have played for years at the Nassau County Coliseum which is in Uniondale or East Meadow, not that far from Freeport. It's nicknamed the Mausoleum. It's old and I guess it's time has come. Attendance has been down. However, the possible max attendance at the Barclay Center (14,500) is not much higher than this year's attendance (approximately 13,000).

The owner Charles Wang has been trying to get a new arena with public support for years to no avail. The last effort came about two years ago when the voters of Nassau County turned down a tax that would have been imposed on all households. Before the vote, Wang announced that if the voters turned him down, he was going to move the team and he was true to his word. However, he wanted to keep it in the NY area and with the Barclay Center he can.
