The Blackhawks are looking good . They will continue what they accomplished in the regular season. ie the best

This makes me sound like some small town hick. But I,ve never been to New York, so be tolerant.
With the Islanders moving it,s not like when the Dodgers & Giants relocated in the 50,s, or is there that much of a travel distance between where they play now and Brooklyn?
Also what city in New Jersey do the Devils play in?
Gotta leave now and tend to the chickens!

All these east coast guys are only talking about the Caps, Pens, Bruins, etc. Being from St Louis I hate to say this but the best team in the NHL are the Hawks.
I really can,t see anyone beating them.

Huge win for the Kings last night on the road. Mostly outplayed and they give up a crushing goal in the last forty seconds of the game, but still win in OT. The Blues had more chances, but Quick was the difference along with a few more skill players like Kopitar and Carter who make the most of fewer opportunities. Boston looks like they are moving on. Canada is in a real rut with Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto all looking at ugly first round exits. California might send three teams to the next round. San Jose has moved on and Anaheim and LA are up 3-2. I think the Pens win big tonight and then we are left with the Caps/Rangers as the best series left.

The Pens won big in game 1 but that didn't seem to bother the Islanders. Even if you are right, there's still a game 6 in Long Island.

If the Islanders can score first, I think that could change things. Yesterday, Pierre McGuire of NBC was on with one of the local radio hosts on WFAN in New York and said that in a series like this a heavily favored team, if things don't go their way, will go through three stages: concern, anxiety and fear. He thinks that after game 2 the Pens were concerned and that after game 4, especially the way it ended with the post match fights, that they were showing anxiety. He believed that if they could get ahead tonight you would see fear. On the plus side for them, their goalie has done well against the Islanders.

Disappointing loss but the match was probably over in the second period :( There's always game 6:cool:

I suppose anything is possible in hockey, but I think the Pens will finish them in the next game. It was a great effort by the NYI. They were simply outmatched. I would like to see them go seven though. At least the Pens look vulnerable now and have some doubts in their minds. It's never good to have your starting goalie flake out. If the Caps get past the Rangers, they could give the Pens fits if they are ever matched up.

I think you're right. It was a great effort and it rejuvenated the fans and maybe the franchise. Apparently, they have a lot of up and coming talent in the minors. The goalie is coming in for criticism so hope they have someone who can step in eventually.

That was a must win game for the Caps. They don't look nearly as dominant as they did earlier in the series. The ghosts of their many playoff chokes were rattling their chains. I think the Rangers take it to game seven and then it could go either way. The Kings managed to finish off the Blues. Getting a slap shot goal with .2 seconds left was a real killer in such a tight game. Two California teams have advanced and Anaheim has a game seven at home.

Well, I have to say it again, wait till next year. Problem is I,m running out of years!

Sorry to hear your boys got "ICED" and are singing the "BLUES." Hey, did you read about the French upsetting the Russians at the Worlds the other day? The U.S. squad is doing pretty well thus far too.

Till Next Year,

The Blues played hard and were in every game. Overall they may have even outplayed the Kings, but Quick was the equalizer. He is the best goalie in hockey.

Bring on the Senators .... Go Pens .

Winning hard will have done them some good , never good to have it all your own way .

I don't think it gets any easier. Let's hope Doug is right about Rangers Caps going to game 7.

The way the Knicks are going, NY might be done with winter sports in a week! {eek3} :(

I know Combat watched a lot of the LA - St Louis series and if you did I think you will agree. I watched the Isles - Pens game last night and it looked like they were playing in a no checking league.

A major choke job from the Ducks last night. Three of the top four teams in the West are out in the first round. For the first time since 1992, the Kings will have the home ice advantage in a playoff series! The bad news is that they get the red hot Sharks in another grudge match. I think the Caps and Bruins will take care of business tonight.

LETS GO PENS - onto the Senators thank goodness. That was a closer series than I wanted.

It was a bad weekend for NY teams versus Pittsburgh teams :( Pens beat Isles and Pirate swept the Mets {eek3}
