Papa Zulu...RIP... (1 Viewer)

A real class act, sorry to hear this. he will be missed is an understatement. Was always entertaining to listen to.

Sincerest condolences to his family, this sort of thing is never easy this time of year.

RIP Joe . . . . You were one of the greatest contributors to the forum and the best promoter of the Anglo-Zulu War history through toy soldiers that I have ever met. I will miss our telephone conversations, our emails, and your ever so popular monthly calendars (Joe always privately sent me a monthly ACW calendar using one of my shared forum ACW photos, whenever he publicly shared his Zulu calendars). But most of all I will miss your ever so popular contributions to the Zulu thread you started so many years ago. Your leaving us will certainly leave a void in all of our lives. Good bye my friend . . .
Mike

Such sad news, rest in peace my friend. Joe was the one that got me started collecting the Zulu range with his wonderful use of the figures in his dioramas. He would send me emails and always offer advice about the AZW. To say he was enthusiastic would be and understatement. We have lost such a great guy and he will be missed.

My condolences to his family.

Terrible news to read that the The Lt has passed away.

We had many email chats but I never had the honour to meet and talk to him face to face, I truly believe Joe was one of my best friends on the Forum

His knowledge of the Anglo Zulu War was unsurpassed

Marie and I send our condolences to his family

R.I.P. Joe

This is terrible news. He was a very generous and warm person. I will miss him dearly.

My thoughts are with his family, Andreas

Wow, I can,t believe this! The last I heard he was doing better and was going to be coming home??? I tried calling his house a few times thinking he would be home already and thought he was doing well and would be home any day.
Joe was a Great guy and I got to spend some time with him at the show in Dedham every year and we would also meet up from time to time at the hobby bunker or one of our houses and spend the day talking about the hobby and it was always a great time. I can,t believe he is gone, you couldn,t meet a nicer guy then Joe! He will be missed by many and I,m sure the Little capt his dog will miss the most. The forum and the shows will not be the same without him, I,ll miss our get togethers we use to have! R.I.P. Joe!
Sorry to the family.
