Terry Strom, better known to you as Phantom Warrior, has passed away. Terry was very knowledgeable about WWII and was a prodigious researcher.

Over the years Terry and I talked from time to time, mostly by email but sometimes by telephone. Terry unfortunately suffered from Parkinson’s and he and I would discuss our respective aches and pains. I was fortunate to meet him once in person at the Chicago Show.

Back in February or early March I emailed him and received no response which was unlike him. I followed up later with a call but he didn’t answer the phone. I thought perhaps he had stopped collecting since he wasn’t purchasing a lot anymore.

I did an internet search from time to time and even checked his LinkedIn profile but there was no activity until I found a notice that he had unfortunately passed away on or about March 1. Those are the only details I have and if I learn anymore I will pass them on.

Terry, prior to retiring, had a long career in real estate financing in the Toronto area.

Terry will be missed.

Farewell and RIP.

Sad news! I wondered why he hadn't been around in a while. May he rest in peace, prayers for him and for his family's peace.

Thanks for posting this Brad, wondered what had happened to him.

I too met him at Chicago, he'd call me from time to time and we'd chat about the hobby and the current state of affairs.

Nice guy, what a shame.

RIP Terry......................

Thank you for letting us know about Terry's passing, Brad. Terry was a great guy, and will be missed. Rest in peace, Phantom Warrior!

This is very sad. I always enjoyed Terry. He helped me research the reworking of a tank a few years ago. He had a great combination of wisodom and inquisitiveness. I really enjoyed his sense of humor too.
I wondered where the Phantom Warrior had gone. Thank you Brad for letting us know. RIP Terry Strom

Sorry to hear of Terry's passing. I worry when members don't post for awhile. I'm always reminded when one passes, that we must live life the best we can. One day death will get all of us.

He's was on here when I joined.A real fixture.RIP .

I have contacted a person who was trying to get information about whether Terry had a will but so far have not received any replies (email or Instagram).
