Terry Strom, better known to you as Phantom Warrior, has passed away. Terry was very knowledgeable about WWII and was a prodigious researcher.
Over the years Terry and I talked from time to time, mostly by email but sometimes by telephone. Terry unfortunately suffered from Parkinson’s and he and I would discuss our respective aches and pains. I was fortunate to meet him once in person at the Chicago Show.
Back in February or early March I emailed him and received no response which was unlike him. I followed up later with a call but he didn’t answer the phone. I thought perhaps he had stopped collecting since he wasn’t purchasing a lot anymore.
I did an internet search from time to time and even checked his LinkedIn profile but there was no activity until I found a notice that he had unfortunately passed away on or about March 1. Those are the only details I have and if I learn anymore I will pass them on.
Terry, prior to retiring, had a long career in real estate financing in the Toronto area.
Terry will be missed.
Farewell and RIP.
