Things that annoy me (7 Viewers)

Amy Schumer was a co-hostess, reason enough for me to not watch the Oscars, again. She lives in a $12M apartment, thus being the first comedian in history to earn a million bucks for every person on earth who thinks she's funny. Chris

That's awesome................I'm stealing it, but I'll give you 5.00 every time I use it..........:wink2:

I can't stand her.

I read a good one about her; one stolen joke is plagiarism. Twenty stolen jokes is an Amy Schumer comedy special.

People today expressing outrage over the insensitivity of the joke and praising Will Smith's actions murder me, talk about ****ing clueless.

Will Smith thought the joke was funny too.

Until his wife didn't.

Get a clue people.

I was waiting for Chris Rock to say: "CODA? Never heard of it." He probably wouldn't have escaped with his life.

Not original to me George. :redface2: Chris

Yes he had a good laugh prior to over-responding to his wife's indignation, laughing is a very strange initial reaction if she really has that illness, and no wonder they have 'relationship issues'. But that's Hollywood folks, they all suck ^&grin

Yes, I saw a surprising number of media types taking Smith's side in this. Saying that if someone insulted their wife that they would belt them etc. When my daughter was 13, she was diagnosed with leukemia. They told her that her hair was going to fall out in clumps once they started chemo. So she decided to have it all cut off. I remember watching them shave her head in the hospital. She was bald as a cucumber for a couple years. I would take her to hockey games and some folks would stare. I assume most could tell that she was a cancer kid. Not once did she get upset or angry at someone because she had lost her hair and they looked at her funny. Sometimes the smaller kids would ask her about it and she would explain it to them. She never belted anyone. So I have little sympathy for some thin skinned Hollywood types bemoaning the fact that they are going bald and belting some comedian for making a remark.

What an amazing little girl....................man, I need to tell my girlfriend to stop chopping onions when I'm reading TFT posts......either that or my eyes are sweating.

PA drivers. This is drone footage from yesterday's disaster following a snow squall. Like something from Ukraine.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogdBy6sQeqM

I saw footage of that in real time from a guy who was in the middle of it...............he was filming from an embankment along the side of the road........watching each vehicle come flying into the frame and smash into vehicles was unreal...one guy was standing next to his vehicle, it got clipped and did about 10 360 spins, how he did not get clipped was a miracle......saw dash cam footage from an 18 wheeler as it approached the crash............he was whipping along at a good clip, no way, no how he was going to stop.........some guy standing in the middle of the road literally dove across the camera shot, barely missing getting pancaked.

Unbelievable.

Some posts go beyond a “like” and sometimes a simple response is not enough.

This is one of those.

Not only is this post inspiring but it also puts so many of the things that “annoy” me in perspective.

All I can write is thank you for sharing this.

Its impact is immeasurable.

Referring to Disneyworld employees as "cast members." Imagine the marketing execs who came up with that to fool employees who pick up garbage and deal with screaming kids all day into believing that their jobs are special to their large corporate overseers.

Uptalking. That's where a person? uses inflection? that goes up? like he's asking a question?

It's one thing for kids to talk like that, but today, there are thirty-somethings who haven't outgrown it, and they sound like kids. I know a CEO who talks like that. They do not inspire confidence that they know what they're talking about or that they are competent.

My 9th grade English teacher took specific steps to break us of that habit. When someone used question inflection in a declarative statement, he'd reply, "Are you telling me or are you asking me." He also strove to break us of the habits of "uh" and "you know".

Today, the parents would probably sue. But it meant that we came out of that class sounding a little less like idiot kids and more like grown-ups.

Prost!

"This one time, at band camp"................

Oh yeah it definitely went up at band camp.

Her voice had that same ? with each sentence like Brad referenced..........my cousin's daughter does that too.............."We went to the park? and I rode on a ride? and it was really fun? and then we saw the animals in the zoo? it was a nice time?...................alright already..............

Yeah, it must be great being a teacher hearing that all day.

Listening to celebrities. Denzel Washington is blaming the Will Smith slap on the "devil" like Mama from the Waterboy. I thought, for some reason, that he was a somewhat normal person. Wrong!
