Things that annoy me (3 Viewers)

Late Night Television. Unfortunately, late night tv of Leno, Letterman and Carson used to be funny, it is now what I will coin as the crying game. Why do the elite of the US continue to think that the average Amercian cares what they think? What we care about is entertainment. I want to be able to laugh at something without the agenda attached to it. Why is this so hard? Pretty soon, these shows will disappear into oblivion, and we will be watching re-runs of network television shows ad nauseum. The ratings will continue to crate, advertisers will leave, yet the Television Executives continue to let this happen. As a business guy, just don't get it.

Yes, it is unwatchable and tiresome. These shows have become political commentary for a minority of people who want their views confirmed in an echo chamber. Colbert and Stewart are not only not funny but arrogant jackarses. I doubt they entirely go away, however. People like us are not their target audience and the people who do watch eat this up. Ironically, Trump's win likely saves their careers as they will have plenty of new material.

The "no concession" concession speech by Harris. She vows to keep fighting for what her campaign stood for (if anyone can figure out what that was). Maybe she didn't notice over half the country didn't vote for that.
Larry Elder gave his theory on why it took her so long to speak. First, her people couldn't find a teleprompter, and second, they were all so distraught that they were too drunk to write the speech for her.

Prost!

Today's annoyance - 'the great state of maryland' (notice disprect of uncapitalized letters) is getting ready to elect another crook from Prince George's County to the Senate. I mean, you just can't make this up. For anyone who has ever lived in Maryland - Prince George's County continues to be the center of political indictments and general shenanigans, dare I say worse than Baltimore City. Yet......wait for it..............we are getting ready to elect a middle age person who ..........wait for it...........cheated not once but twice on her property taxes for over a DECADE.................claiming a homestead credit on her home as well as a property that it not a full time home as well as claiming the elderly credit on the property. If I did this, I would be fighting to stay out of jail. This person has done this and it is being swept under the rug. Again, you just cannot make this crap up. I hate the state i live in. It is the armpit of America. My alma mater is much the same. ON that note, 37% of my tax dollars support in state recruitment of Students, while 63% is spent out of State. Reminder it is a public University, the University of Maryland. Sorry 2 things that annoy me.

Tom,
I know how you feel. I live in the great state of Illinois and in Cook County (need I say more.)

Watching Jimmy Kimmel blubbering was......................pathetic.

These guys are not funny, they all have an agenda politically, what happened like you said to the Carson's of the world, no one knew who he voted for, he dumped on both parties.

The wokeness and virtue signaling is something else; the most comical part is they yammer about diversity and inclusion; and they are a bunch of middle aged white guys.

The hypocrisy is astounding.

New movie "Blitz" about the racism faced by a biracial child during the bombing. Do we really need another movie about racisim? I'll pass on this one.
More left wokey cokey DEI BS, who can only lie, changing history to insert those without any actual historical legacy or achievements right into our faces such is their jealousy. I for one ain't falling for it !

Apparently a new episodes of the bbc Tudor series Wolf Hall begin this weekend, with a multi racial cast. Once again bbc selling out British / Western history with woke lies.
Stopped paying my bbc licence fee because of this endless bs a while back since watching it just winds me up, so better for my blood pressure just not to watch !

Similar situation here Steve, the ABC in Australia is basically a front for Lefty/LGBQA-Z garbage, they are Government supported from Taxes rather than TV Licenses but the result is the same and the commercial TV stations aren't much better. For over 2 years l have watched mainly (over 90%) online media rather than free to air propaganda bs.

Imagine the chaos if this had been a close election and came down to AZ and PA which are both still counting votes. PA keeps finding votes in a close contest between McCormick and Casey for Senate. AZ has only counted about 80% of their votes. If you want citizens to have confidence in the elections, then have the results within 24 hours. AZ is talking about weeks.

I think there must have been two clerks wearing green eye shades and an old hand crank adding machine counting votes in Arizona.

People who assume now that Trump won, we're home free/our economy will be saved.

Hate to break it to people, but prices on groceries and consumer goods won't suddenly drop except for gas and a few commodities.

Thanks to rampart inflation, the currency has been devalued.

Grocery stores blamed skyrocketing prices on the rising cost to bring those items to market, both for the farmers/meat processing plants/fishermen/dairy farmers and the grocery stores, our economy is driven by cheap oil and gas prices, once those spiked, the costs went up and they're not coming down, which is complete BS.

If the cost to bring the goods to market drops, then prices should drop, but they won't.

The price of gas and natural gas will go down as production gets ramped up, but the cost of groceries and consumer goods will still be high/won't be coming down.

Same with the cost to eat at restaurants; they costs will come down, but I doubt they will pass that along to the customers.

Grocery stores don't care; if you spend 150.00 for three bags of groceries, if they lower their prices, you will still spend 150.00 but you'll have 6 bags of groceries
What they don't get is people will go back to eating steak, eggs, bacon, etc, etc; they will splurge on items, treat themselves to steak once or twice a month vs eating pasta as it's cheaper, but if prices remain high, they will be resistant to splurge.

Funny how the toy soldier business does not work that way; my costs to bring the goods to market (international and domestic shipping) when up, as in WAY up, but I can't pass that cost on to the consumer, I have to eat those costs as a cost of doing business, but grocery stores and retail stores get to raise their prices at will to fight those costs/not have to absorb them.

What a great system.

I'm more optimistic. Much of the economy is based around expectations and confidence. Trump's policies are expected to lower energy prices. That will have an impact across the entire economy to bring down inflation. Many businesses will also expect lower taxes. Lots of incentives to begin lowering prices. I am concerned about the stock market. That's the only area of the economy that has improved under Biden. Mostly because he pumped trillions in government spending into the economy. Ending the endless wars also means that certain US industries will be losing profits. So the market might level off.

Having to read about the opening on SNL on every news outlet each week. Why is that show even still on TV? I haven't watched it since Will Ferrell left a hundred years ago. And it wasn't very funny even then.
