Things that annoy me (1 Viewer)

All,

I am sick and tired of getting my Double Whopper Cheeseburger from Burger King cold AND it seems to be at every Burger King I go to.

The master list which grows as I get older:

1) Drivers who try to pass on the right even though there is obviously a slower moving vehicle in that lane rendering it impossible. My unscientific observation identifies most of those people as being from NJ.

2) Pop up videos on Internet news forums that make reading any article almost impossible.

3) People who mow their lawn more than twice a week.

4) People who have yard sales and/or those that decide to suddenly stop in the road for said purpose.

5) Restaurant servers asking if I have been there before as though that makes some difference in my ability to read the menu.

6) Any change whatsoever. There is some guy name "Paul" who has lunch in the same restaurants as myself in Gettysburg on the same days. I see him at least twice a week. I've never spoken to him but find his shadow like presence comforting like a character from a Charles Dickens novel.

7) People who ask if I'm standing in line if I'm not breathing down the neck of the person in front of me.

8) Flying anywhere with all the torture associated with air travel.

9) Going to the doctor and waiting hours after my appointment time to get in for five minutes. I have to laugh at the criticism that "socialized medicine" will result in long wait times. Try to make an appointment with a specialist and you are on a waiting list for months. When the day finally arrives you cool your heels for as long as it takes to get in.

10) Self-serve check outs at stores. There is always some person monitoring them which seemingly defeats the purpose even assuming that they work - which they usually do not.

11) Being told that you can only buy tickets to a sports event via your mobile phone. No paper tickets. Ridiculous.

One that I hear on tv that drives me mad: People using ' Aksed ' instead of Asked !! Come on people its not difficult to say!!😡

I can never understand what is being said in those fast food drive thru speakers. It sounds like the teacher in Charlie Brown. And are there so many choices at fast food restaurants. If the point is to serve people quickly, then there should be about three choices like in that Belushi skit on SNL ("cheeseburger, cheeseburger, chip, chip, pepsi"). The McDonald's menu is unbelievable. So many different combo meals etc.

Awesome.........................coming and going from toy soldier shows when I stopped at a rest area for something to eat, I'd always have to stand back and try to wrap my head around the menu, otherwise if I got in line, the clerk would bash me over the head asking me what I wanted as I was trying to process the 4,125 choices.........................fast food is not my bag, so I have no clue for the most part what is on each menu.

I'll prefer a diner over a fast-food place, if there's one available. I look for a place that is open 24 hours, that serves breakfast 24 hours, and that has good meat loaf, SOS, and eggs sunny-side up with toast and home fries. And free coffee refills. And family-run, if possible.

Prost!

Yes, the food is mostly awful at any fast food places. I sort of liked Carl's Jr out west but there are none here on the east coast. McDonald's is truly awful. The worst of the worst though are those fast food places at rest areas or gas stations. Holy cow. I'm a sucker for those You Tube fight videos at fast food restaurants, though. Imagine having to work at one of those places and deal with the angry customers leaping the counter if you get the order wrong.

The airlines. I hate them like poison. We have a discount airline Allegiant in PA that flies out of the local airport. So it's a lot more convenient than going to DC or Baltimore but their customer service is atrocious. I had to change a date on my ticket and was on hold for over three hours. There was no way to do it without talking to someone. They do that intentionally to avoid having to do anything. And I must be the last person in the world not to use their phone to download the boarding pass. I show up at the airport to check in and they ask me for my boarding pass. I tell them that's something they give me. The agent charges me $5 to print it! LOL. They also charge for water. The passengers are not much better. I'm old enough to remember when passengers dressed up to travel on planes. There was a guy at the airport wearing a t-shirt that said "Show me your *hole." You can't make that up.

I'm dying laughing over here....................the airlines/the airport.

I haven't been on a plane since 1993 and if there is a God in heaven, I never will step foot on one again.................it was a nightmare to travel back then, can only imagine what it is like now.......................dress up to fly? I remember when folks dressed up to go to a ballgame, suits and ties, or more to the point, a wake/funeral...................some bozo showed up for one of my uncle's wakes in shorts and flip flops, surprised he didn't have a cold one in one hand....................

Yeah, those airlines and passengers...........

I took my mom to the airport yesterday morning at 4am for her 5:30am flight. The United counter already had a line. There was one person in front of us in the premier line. When they opened a gate agent immediately approached us and asked who was traveling, I told them my mom was traveling alone. The agent stepped away and asked the man in front if she could help us first, the man nodded yes.

Well, they took my mom's bags, checked her in and then asked if she needed help getting to her gate, My mom did not understand so she told the agent no, she did not need a wheelchair. The gate agent then simply offered to walk her to her gate to make sure she got on her flight safely.

What a jerk that guy in front of us was for letting the agent take care of us first and what jerks those gate agents were..........

I went to the Dunkin Donuts today and they had no donuts. I was somewhat reminded of the old Steven Wright joke:

[h=1]“I went down to the 24-hour grocery. When I got there, the guy was locking the front door. I said, 'Hey, the sign says you’re open 24 hours. He said, 'Yes, but not in a row.”[/h]
And the kicker is that I later learned it is National Donut Day.

Those double drive thru set ups at fast food restaurants. You are supposed to pull up to the first one but sometimes the cars get backed up and you are stuck in no man's land between the first and second speaker and the order taker is barking out a demand for your order while you are a mile from the speaker. Then you finally get up to the speaker and there is no one there. I also never know what other people want and delegate to my wife to order. So she is shouting the order from the passenger seat while the order taker in blaring into my other ear that they can't hear what she is saying.

Back when the earth was flat they used to make the donuts on the premises, now they bring them in from a large central baking spot, just in time to be stale.

Was never a fan of Dunkin Donuts donuts, they are a whole lot of nothing, not to mention anything I like, they find out and ****can it...............brownies, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate crullers, or my all time favorite, chocolate covered donuts with brownie batter filling, on my God, tremendous.....................

On the Thread - manufacturers not answering questions. Treefroggers having a go at the messenger rather than the subject [you know who you are], if someone points out an error then argue the error not the person sending it. Play the ball not the player.

Toy Soldiers - the uniformity of the human frame used, would like to see a group with smaller frame figures and 'human differences'. Tanks and vehicle which are singularly marked, i liked it when companies produced a set of the same tank variant with different turret markings, letting me make up a 'unit'.

Life - Every human, just all they do and they say.

Movies and TV shows that depict things that differ from real life. I haven't seen a nurse dressed in a white gown and funny hat since the 1960s but still that way in some shows. Do people still have use those aluminum garbage cans? Funerals in which everyone is dressed to the nines including the small kids. Whenever I see those things, I realize this is TV Land.

I still wear a coat and tie to a funeral. :salute:: Chris
