Things that annoy me (1 Viewer)

The new Sonic fast food commercial with two women (replacing the two goofy guys in the car). They are so not funny. Chris

Sonic itself is awful. Their food is awful even by the low standards of fast food. If given a choice of eating at Sonic or starving to death, I would eat at Sonic but only after giving it some thought.

Going to take some hits for this but so be it:

People who put their bags in the first class bins then proceed to the bag of the jet.

Standing in line at a fast food restaurant, Hardees in this case, behind people taking several minutes talking with the counter help to decide what they want. One time a couple were asking about customizing a breakfast order and how much it would cost and this was for several options. Drives me nuts. Chris

Worse when it is in the drive through.

If it was me I would step to the side and say to the person behind, you go ahead I am not sure what I want yet.

Sadly these days it's all about the 'me' generation, very little concern for others. However I have noticed that a lot of people now pre-order on phone apps. And some fast food outlets such as MacDonald in Australia have displays in the public area where you can punch in your order, you get a number and collect when it's available. A good system, and I understand Macca outlets in Australia have much more variety than in the US.

Emergency room wait times at the hospital. My experiences are mercifully few and far between but the average wait time at a hospital emergency room here in PA is about 3-4 hours to be seen by a doctor. It's ridiculous. And then they charge you thousands of dollars for the privilege. I bet that a lot of people ignore their symptoms and die from things like a heart attack because they don't want to wait all day at the hospital. It also makes me laugh when I hear criticisms about health care delays in other countries. Try to see any medical specialist in the US and you are looking at about a 3-6 month wait to even get an appointment.

Here in Canada we have a tele-health system where you can call and speak to a nurse practitioner and they can advise where best to go to get help etc. In June I waited for 9 hours for a call back. As everything was locked down for Covid I didn't want to overwhelm the already chaotic emergency room in my city.

One of the consequences of COVID is that most businesses have decided they don't have to answer the phone as part of customer service. Rendering it impossible to complain about anything. They blame it on some unspecified cause assuming you can ever talk to someone (e.g. staff shortage). The airlines are the absolute worst. It takes 3 or more hours on hold to talk to a real person and often there is no other way to go about it. They hope you just give up and don't bother them since phone calls from customers are often to complain about something and they are on the losing end. I don't have any trouble GETTING calls from businesses but try making them and it is out of the question.

The endless layers you have to peel away to talk to an actual human being is mind boggling, these sophisticated systems they install in most cases lead you to the wrong department, then you have to start the entire process all over again.

Unless you call me at MMTS; the phone rings, I answer it, it's quite a concept.....................;).................

The best is when the flight attendant calls them out and they sheepishly remove the bag!!

I'm trying to locate a pkg with Christmas gifts for one of my sons. Been over seven days with no shipping notice. The company has NO tel number listed. You can't even place an order over the phone. Sent an email and hoping someone replies. Will never use them again. Chris

After posting several things that annoy me, I have one case of the opposite. My wife received a set of pots and pans from her mom about 30 yrs ago. The knob came off one of the lids and couldn't be fixed. The company sent her a new lid AND pot after she emailed them a picture. Excellent service. Chris

FL, K&C or other? :)

The wind. A real pain in the arse in the winter or summer. I don't care how cold or hot it is if the wind is not blowing. Went to the beach this summer and the wind was a horror show. You could barely stand up. Unbelievable. The only good thing the wind does is blow my leaves away. I never have to rake them. Somewhere at the ends of the Earth there must be a giant pile of leaves.

Getting a request to review a product or take a survey every time I make an online purchase. Merely adds to the junk mail every day.

I'm going to give the 2021 award for the most annoying thing to the airlines for their incompetence, greed, and horrific customer service. Nosing out Dunkin Donuts for having no donuts on national donut day. After being given tens of millions in COVID relief funds, the airlines then fired thousands of employees and kept the money of passengers who couldn't fly because of the pandemic. Now they are blaming the weather for widespread cancellations leaving thousands stranded over the holidays. Anyone dumb enough to try to contact them by phone are placed on hold for 3-5 hours under normal circumstances.
