Tiger 211 2./s.SS.Pz.Abt.102 (1 Viewer)

Well Brad...Not yet anyway:wink2:...but I think that Figarti or First Legion could match the HB Tiger if they wanted to.....Both of these companies do AFV's quite well. Frank

Frank,

You'll notice that I said "still". I don't think Rick has any interest in making one in 1/30 scale. I need to correct myself; his 1/32 Tiger has no equal. Never will. FL would make a very good one but I think that will be awhile, based on how Matt likes to develop a range.

Vezzolf...

IMO HB set the bar for quality in the hobby. Although the Tiger 1 was the gold edition the quality was no different to the standard releases and, the tiger 1 would have been no different had they released it as an open edition like the panthers et al.

I know its all down to the individual but, FL and Figarti do not come anywhere near these releases there was just something about HB stuff that was classy and spot on. I am the most picky person for accuracy and detail but, could not fault these models

Mitch, I'm not faulting these HB tigers at all....Great Stuff.....But since HB does not have any plans to return to producing AFV's...I would think the 2 manufacturers most likely to be able to fill the void would be Figarti or First Legion.....As for high levels of accuracy and detail I would think that First Legion could do it very well if Matt decides to give it a go....Who knows?...we can at least dream:wink2:

well, with FL doing DAK there is an opportunity for them to address the Tiger 1 it will, as you say, be interesting to see
Mitch

It's apparent that the detail on this Tiger is awesome. I like the look of the front drive sprockets being carved out and the detailed cut finish of the "Zimmeritt"^&cool

What was the price of this TIGER?I bet when FL or Figarti do one it will cost over or very close to $300.00US.

HB tigers were one off things for collectors so, adding more or less changed the price I can't remember what a basic (not that it even was) one was.

I would think a FL would be well north of $300 if a Panzer III is what it is and, they stick to correct scale I would think it would be nearer the new gun price. Figarti probably around there
Mitch

I believe the base price for the HB Tiger was $300. It then went up if you added figures and extras. I think the $300 got the buyer his choice of paint jobs and basic equipment. I also think shipping had to be figured into the final price and the S/H was quite high coming out of Argentina. -- Al

If memory serves I think the base price was $350 which included one of the "stock" paint schemes. Figures and custom paint requests were additional as was shipping. i can't remember the final figure I paid for this one.

Thing is it cost a fair price but, so long as you had a little imagination you could have a unique AFV of unbeatable quality delivered to the door. I would not pay that amount or more for a roll of the belt production model.

I paid £425 for my HB version and bought one recently from a mate for much less.

It was certainly worth every penny, no matter what it cost! The quality and level of detail is unmatched in 1/30th scale.

very true :(

Ditto. I was so enamored with the quality of Honor Bound that I got 2 GE Tigers, 2 GE Shermans with additional cost for crews and accessories (basic was $350) Non GE models made earlier are equally great and also far exceeds any other models in the market today. Bought 5 M4A1 76mm Sherman (Al Capone, Bonnie, Unnamed, Elowee and another unnamed camo version)... and not to forget the first AFV HB produced...Panthers 221, 223, & 224. They started the trend on detailed tracks!
These non GE version sold for $186 with all the accessories. I don't think we'll ever see those days again.

Now this is an impressive collection of HB.:salute:: -- Al

Frank,

You have the best collection of Honourbound vehicles out there, bar none.

How about some more shots of your Sturmtiger (the only HB vehicle I don't have at least one version of)?

I totally agree that they are the best polystone vehicles produced in the hobby to date, and still stand up well (although in my opinion Figarti and John Jenkins have caught them in overall quality using mixed media, including resin and metal).
my understanding is when the gold edition tigers were being offered thier were seven different paint schemes being offered for the tiger i have seven gold edition tigers with each paint scheme two of the sturmtigers and two of the shermans all gold editions when i learn how to post a picture i will post them of all of the vehicles.
