Walking Dead (WARNING MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS) (1 Viewer)

I ended the season and the series three weeks ago . . . . haven't missed it at all . . .
:smile2: Mike

Always go out on a high note; guess they didn't get the memo.
Boy, did they ever miss it. One of the most useless episodes, ever. I'm guessing the big finale was supposed to be the first ever snow/inclement weather event in the history of the apocalypse. Like it was pointed out, the episode last week with the heads and pikes would have been the perfect shock ending to the season. The writers sure blew this one. -- Al

When it snows in the DC area it is always an apocalypse. I'm surprised they didn't have a horse and buggy traffic jam on the Beltway. A dud episode for sure. Dog was the most compelling character. His method acting was outstanding in that scene where he was lost in the blizzard. I give Daryl runner up for his icicle kill. The best part of the show was the ad for NOS4A2.

YAWN YAWN YAWN.
Someone wake me when the Vikings return.

How is it that it was blizzard conditions where they were but no snow on the ground for Team Alpha.

Also, the clothes that everyone seems to wear seems nice and new. Since presumably there’s no manufacturing going on — not to mention the garment business in this country is on life support and since there’s probably not too much importing going on during a zombie apocalypse — I wonder how that’s possible. A meaningless detail ^&grin

Good point. They should all be dressed like The Flintstones by now. -- Al

I wondered the same thing; where was the snow in their camp?

Hard to believe the actor who played Gary Bertier in Remember the Titans and the US Paratrooper with the hearing loss in SPR (They are defending a town called Bumville or some **** place)………………...is Alpha's right hand man...……………….

Maybe they raided a Hugo Boss outlet. I'm sure there would still be an abandoned Hummer dealer or two around or at least a few snowmobiles. So I'm not sure why they have gone Robin Hood in such a hurry during a snowstorm.

The problem with trying to answer questions like that is, once you open that door the whole show falls apart.
Why has no one made spears? Why does gas still work? Why does no one wear protected clothing?.
No one alive has ever seen a history book to come up with a shield wall?

It’s zombies you have to let those common sense things slide inmo.
And this show has NEVER had common sense. Who would have left the farm?

AMC has announced yet another spinoff series to start in 2020. Not much in the way of details but it's somewhat odd given how the rating dropped to record lows this season for TWD. I have enough trouble remembering where they left off with FTWD and now a third series. Oh well, another show to complain about.

THE WALKING DEAD---AMC announced a third series is underway which will focus on two young women and will premiere in 2020, “We’re thrilled that the Dead will keep walking into a new corner of the post-apocalyptic world, a corner that will present stories and characters unlike any that The Walking Dead has dramatized thus far, and that is bound to excite one of the most passionate fanbases in television.” Scott Gimple and Matt Negrete are the creators.
Also, Gimple hinted that FEAR THE WALKING DEAD might continue a plotline from the original series, "This season, I wouldn’t classify it as an enemy, but there will be this, beyond Austin [Amelio], this very interesting commonality, this story strand that’s gonna be furthered on this show that started on THE WALKING DEAD. And who knows where it will go? But that’s the thing on tap right now.”
Chandler Riggs said he is interested in returning as Carl Grimes if the opportunity arises, "Great, yeah, it’d be a lot of fun. I’m super down, yeah. That would be awesome."

I watched the first couple of episode of Netflix's "Black Summer." A lot of action but all the jumping back and forth gave me a headache. Not a great show and not an awful one. Reminds me a bit of Fear the Walking Dead meets 28 Days. Supposedly a prequel to Z Nation but there doesn't seem to be any overlap.

THE WALKING DEAD---Robert Kirkman announced that comic book issue #193 which will be published on July 3 will be the last issue, “I’m upset, too. I’m going to miss it as much as you will, if not more so. It breaks my heart that I had to end it. and we have to move on,.. but I just love this world too much to stretch things out until it doesn’t live up to what I want it to be. I hope you understand. I hope you. dear reader, know how much I appreciate the gift you have given me. I got to tell my story exactly how I wanted to, for 193 issues, and end it on my terms, with no interference at all along the way… at any point. That’s such a rare thing, and it doesn’t exist without the unyielding support this series got from readers like you. Thank you so much.”
Publisher Eric Stephenson added, “For a monthly comic book to progress and change the way The Walking Dead has is completely unique, and what’s more impressive is that it has done so for its entire 193-issue run without relaunching or rebooting. Robert Kirkman has told one story and told it well for over 15 years, and while most comics are based on the illusion of change, The Walking Dead has happened in real time — characters have aged from children to adults, they’ve lost limbs, they’ve lost eyes, they’ve lost family members and friends, they’ve died. Not “died” in the nudge, nudge; wink, wink way that Superman, Captain America, and Wolverine “died,” but in as real a manner as can happen in a fictional story. The series is concluding with the same finality and while that will no doubt be disappointing for some, in the big scheme of things, it’s a remarkable achievement for Robert and his collaborators.”
