I picked up another 14 inch Steiff German Infantryman, this one wearing dunkelblau Feldmutze Cap and Waffenfrock, but with white pants, and jointed knees:

Very neat. This is the same uniform the recruits are seen wearing in the early training/barracks scenes in the classic 1930 'All Quiet on the Western Front'. -- Al

Finally picked up a Steiff Kriegsmarine Sailor in good condition:

These are the first nine in a commission of 80 Imperial Romans marching. All 28mm from the excellent Victrix range. Cost per figure in total? £7.50. The guy who paints these is just unbelievable in terms of VFM. 28mm is the future!

The repair of my Steiff Bersaglieri Doll is complete, and I am very pleased with the results. Here are a before and an after photo:

Looks like some great workmanship on the repair!

Zach,

The guy is amazing.^&cool^&cool He is an authorized Steiff repairman, and has a website with before and after photos of his work. I am sending him my French Infantryman next.:smile2:

Here are a few shots of the repaired Steiff Bersaglieri back on display in my collection. As you can see from the close-ups, the badge on the red, white and green cockade is a perfect match to the real Bersaglieri hat badge. The repairer actually bought an Italian Medal awarded to a Bersaglieri, and took the badge off the medal ribbon to use in creating the hat:

With the Aztec releases from John Jenkins I've been looking to add some different collectables of the same historical period. When I was younger I remember going to the pyramids at Teotihuacan just outside Mexico City and buying some small ceramic statues of Mesoamerican gods and Indians. I started looking online to purchase some and found a website store sponsored by national geographic called Novica. I found that they sold some Aztec ceramic sculptures made in Mexico. Just received by first the and was blown away by the size and detail!

Here are some pics. I also included 1 pic for size reference next a John Jenkins Aztec figure.

Beside toy soldiers, I collect military uniforms and airsoft guns... I guess you can't fight your tastes once they've taken root!
