What else do you collect beside toy soldiers (1 Viewer)

Here's all the Mountie stuff on display. There are actually official Mountie instructions as to where to attach the insignia, but I am going to wait until someone like Ken and Erika Osen, who knows what they are doing, comes to visit and ask them to help before I screw things up!{sm4}

I love the zouave uniform -- you can really get a sense of it on the dummy. The doll is quite cool!

Thank you Zander! I am trying to find a horizon blue 1916 French Uniform to go with the doll, and a Zouave Doll to go with the uniform. Luckily I have the matching Toy Soldiers already so I can keep my 1:1 scale, 1:6 scale, 1:30 scale display theme going!😆

Here's that 1916 French Infantryman in situ. I found a Therault's Auction where about 25 dolls made by the same manufacturer were sold, at prices between $900 and $2,200, including U.S., Canadian, British, Belgian, Japanese, Turkish, Serbian Infantry, Zouaves, and French Sailors. I got very lucky, picking mine up for about a tenth of the average prices from this auction.

I just picked up these two Steiff Soldier Dolls, a German Infantryman and a German Chevauleger from two online auctions, both way less than I expected. I was the only bidder on one (the cheapest I ever bought) and there were only six bids on the other, which went way below my highest bid. Both will be restored by the same Steiff Certified repairman. Further photos will be posted after restoration is complete.

I managed to obtain a miniature mess jacket version of a French legion d’honour, and thought I would have the real uniform and a Steiff doll wearing a similar uniform wear the matching medals:

"by the same Steiff Certified repairman" who knew? Nice addition Louis. And quite a uniform collection you have as well. :salute:: Chris

Thanks Al and Chris! Yes Chris I cheat and get the dolls restored. I presently have 42 uniforms on display with about 15 matching soldier dolls wearing uniforms I display.👍

You have an amazing collection Louis! Thanks for sharing the photos with us.

Dave
