I remember the 1/72 scale Rat Patrol set; it was made by Aurora, I think and used tanks similar to the Austrian-made ROCO mini-tanks, except the Pathers' barrels were shorter and I don't remember them having wheels. They might have been smaller, too. I think I still have the vehicles stowed in a...
Boy that brings back memories. I also remember a cover of a tank (I think it was a Stuart tank similar to the "Haunted Tank") being airdropped by parachute with the crew inside while being attacked by pterodactyls - what a hoot. Even ignoring the dinosaur angle, totally beyond belief - but what...
That was my dilemma - I was going to go for two pre-sale specials but figured for a few bucks more I could get the whole set with all the goodies and if I did that how many more figures would I need? So I decided to hedge my bets and go for one special and put in for the full playset. Best of...
That's my impression, too. Already took advantage of their advance sale deal. Kind of torn, though. I want the set so wondering how many more figure sets I really need? What a dilemma! lol
I've always liked Technolog. They are beautifully sculpted figures and the prices aren't too bad. Sadly (for me) even though I find their style charming (if that's an appropriate word for toy soldiers) - I can't really fit them in with my other figures and don't have the room to start another...
I have mixed feelings about the whole thing. I can't recall the last time I went into a "Toys-R-Us". Ours never carried anything I was interested in as far as my Toy Soldier Collection (the last being when they stopped carrying BMC sets). When I'd hear on one of the forums about this or that...
I've been using their 1/32 Prussians for my ARW Hessian contingent since I got them painted. I figure these could be used in many different situations. It looks to be another great complete series in the making that will fill a definite gap.
I do know that HaT is serious about pushing ahead on...
The boat looks fine to me - realistically worn and weathered as it would be after years of travelling the jungle rivers. Reminds me of the fun and imagination of childhood when we sat on our living room or bedroom floors and re-enacted our favorite movies with our toy soldiers.
You're doing an awesome job; makes me want to break out my DVD of "Plan 9" and see it again and order the "Crab Monsters." I don't think I've seen it since I was a teenager.
Of course I'll have to wait until my wife turns in for the night; she just doesn't get the charm of great poorly made...
They look beautiful. So excited; just hope they're not TOO much bigger than the stuff that's gone before, even though I know ACTA's figures were more 1/35th scale.
If they are... I guess I'll just have to suck it up and get them anyway. These are the figures I've been waiting to get my hands...
