Great Job Alex. I was gone for a week and miss out until today. I am taking notes. Thanks for the tip on the Camel and Linen color from FOLK ART. I was having problems matching colors. I will get those 2 colors today. Thanks.
Lou
Alex, As a fellow Almao collector, I look forward to your dio. I have made a few small dios too. Perhaps I can take pictures this weekend and get them on this thread to compare notes. I like the idea about the background. I have been thinking about how to put in a background scene. I will be...
I just read in PLASTIC WARRIOR MAGAZINE that Steve plans on making a second series of mexican peasants and a set of mounted mexican bandits. I can't wait to see them. THanks for making a great series. I look forward to the next releases.
Thanks for the photos. Yeah, I regret not getting them alright. Maybe at the next show. I tried looking for the MARXMAN web site but could not find one. That's okay. I have enough to keep me busy for the next few months. :D
I liked the T-shirt too. They had them back at the King X shop. The price was too steep for me at $21.00 per t-shirt. I would have bought a couple if they were $15.00 or so. But I did like them.
Thanks, that was great. I just got back from planting American Flags at the 3 local cemeteries. It is an honor for me and my wife to do it for the local VFW.
Hi,
Just wanted to mention that The MARX MAN also had some 40mm lead Alamo soldiers call the "FORTIES". He had some other lines too but I only looked at the Alamo set. I was impressed. Now, I am regretting not getting any of them. Did anyone else get some? They looked great.
Alex,
That's okay. I just hope that the show continues. It is my chance to save up and go see the latest stuff out on the market. I think it should be moved to a larger location. What do you think?
Scott,
I found the post. Thanks. Now, I am going to try to do some converts. What did you use to glue the parts together. I have Zap A Gap. What do you recommend? I am going to start with the peasant with the rasided machete. I think he will be the easiest to convert.
Yes, I am wondering if the gloss finished K&C ures had a different facade than the one that is offered with the Matt finished one. I have two recent Alamo facades and am trying to find out if there was an earlier one produced by K&C with the gloss figures in 1995. Thanks.
Scott,
I like your conversions of the Weston peasants. Could you show us some close ups of them. Or perhaps provide a "How to" on how you made them. I just bought my first set of them and want to try to make some too. THanks.
Hi, I just returned from the show. My second time, as I went last year. It is small. But, I do like the variety. I think this year the show has more variety. I hope next year they find a bigger place. It was very crowded the 2.5 hours that I was there. One older gentleman bumped into me...
I too, just try to put together figures without much accuarcy. Good points made. I will attempt to do more research on my next diorama. But, then again, I am the only one who sees my dios before a taken them down for a new one.
