Late war German armour (IN GERMANY)

These vehicles weren't even issued to the Panzer Lehr Division.

I quite agree, but it is still inaccurate.

    Check out NEW Bulge stuff!

Unfortunately King and Country have got it wrong with all three German vehicles. The jagdpanzer IVs in the Ardennes did not have zimmerit and all used the three tone camo scheme. Then we have the Steyr and the 251 pakwagen in 'factory gray'.Afraid not. That particular color was discontinued before...

    Reenactor Videos

Although the bulk of civil war reenactor videos tend to be historically accurate, the great majority are let down by the participants who are either too old,way overwieght or in completely the wrong type of uniform.Of late this sorry situation has been rectified somewhat by the excellent 'Wide...

Hope they don't have the Texas Brigade in those innacurate frockcoats. They were long gone by the time of Antietam.

    fov sd.kfz7/1 normandy 1944

Stefano The tractor is an SDKFZ 7,not a 7/1.The 7/1 was an an anti aircraft mount. As for crew uniforms it all depends on which unit you want to portray. An SS crew would have different uniforms than a 'Heer' or a Luftwaffe crew. There are many sites on the net dealing with different camo...

    The American Civil War Diaries

Excellent sculping, fantastic paintjobs, imaginative poses, but unfortunately, like their infantry, wholly inaccurate. There are no records of a general issue of yellow caps ever to the reb cavalry, even though they were authorised. The usual issue caps were grey, with the bulk of cavalrymen preferring...

    Civil War/Rev War Reenacting Uniforms

Hi Scott, Got to agree with you there.Clothing from the Trans-Mississippi depot can take upto a year to arrive! And don't forget the good old British Isles where there are numerous reenactment groups. One,'The Lazy Jacks Mess',is regarded by many in the USA as the most authentic in the world.

    Civil War/Rev War Reenacting Uniforms

Scott wrote.... I would go along with all of the above except Jarnagins.Their clothing isn't accurate, especially in the Civil war dept.Other excellent suppliers include BenTart ,S and S Sutlers in Gettysburg and the Trans-Mississippi Depot, all of which produce highly authentic clothing.

    "Combat Tanks Collection" Magazine (Australia)

There have been major problems with this collection in the UK.Apart from the quality of the tanks being atrocious, the 'special offer',ie free famo and trailer, never materialized.Huge numbers of customers, including myself, had to threaten them with legal action (through the Trading Standards...

    Mel Gibson as a director

I was referring to undue stereotyping.Certainly in a Bridge too far this was not the case and all the aforementioned movies were generally historically accurate.Parts of The Patriot were laughable, especially the ambush scene where a dozen or so English soldiers stood around waiting to be shot...

    Mel Gibson as a director

Quite a profound statement, which unfortunately is not true.Could I refer you to movies such as Saving Private Ryan,The Thin Red Line,A Bridge too far,The Longest day,Gettysburg or Son of the Morning Star. All made without having to resort to fabrication or undue stereotyping.

    Toy soldiers in movies

Lancer In 'The Equalizer' Woodward is called Robert McCall. But I have often wondered the same as you as both characters are of the same ilk, although Callan tended to be darker.(mood not colour).

    Toy soldiers in movies

I remember 'Callan'.He was a cold blooded killer who played wargames. It was a brilliant tv series. In 1974 it was made into a movie, the centrepoint of which was an excellent miniature layout of the battle of Gettysburg along with thousands of figures.

    Back to the Norm

I know that K&C have already released a citreon field car in the Normandy series, but I would like to see a few more 'foreign' trucks besides the Opel blitz models that most manufacturers dwell on.After all, during the Normandy Campaign,in Divisions such as 1SS and 12SS,almost 75% of the softskin...

Conte figure from The Horse Soldiers??

UKREB Your query about the abrupt ending throws up two answers. The first being that footing had already been shot of the Union troops parading through Baton Rouge accompanied by a huge fanfare, but production costs had shot through the roof so this scene was deleted.Another, rather sad factor,was...
