I finally got the vaccine shot yesterday. Other than a slightly sore arm, no problem. One down and one to go. I've heard a few people complain about flu-like symptoms more commonly with the second shot.
Glad your daughter got the shot and you as well.
Just curious; are you yourself in a high risk category as you're young, correct, mid to late 40's?
Don't understand they way they are rolling this out at all, here in MA it's nothing short of a mess.
They want you to go to either Fenway or Gillette Stadium; can you imagine what a mob scene either of those is going to be?
I've done a 180 on this vaccine, I am in no rush to get it, as in zero. I am 60 and have no risk factors, so I won't be eligible the way it's going until late Summer/early Fall anyway........................IMO, they'd be better served coming up with a pill/medicine so that if you get it and your symptoms get worse, your doctor prescribes a pill, you take it and get better vs getting jabbed with a needle.
Not to mention, just as I feared, now there are new strains popping up; UK, South Africa and Brazilian, how effective will the vaccine be on those..............are we going to have to get some sort of booster shot vs those next and for how long will the vaccine be effective........again, will we be required to get a booster shot every year, much like the flu shot?
And it's not like once you get the vaccine, you go back to normal, masks are still required, indoor gatherings restricted, certain activities you still can't do, nothing is 100% fool proof.
Give me a pill to treat it vs a vaccine to prevent it any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
Needless to say, I've changed my mind on this; the vaccine business is much more profitable than the pill business.................and sorry, to me that's what this is all about the more I think about it.
