Kentucky has teamed with Kroger supermarkets to help administer the vaccine. BUT, due to the special freezer rqts, only one location in Kentucky to my knowledge has been designated to date. Maybe more will be added later but this doesn't seem to be much help.

Hope you are able to get the vaccine soon Jason. I was able to get the first dose at the VA hospital. Chris

Only the Pfizer vaccine requires the special freezers. Most pharmacies can dispense the Moderna vaccine with no issue because it just requires normal refrigeration.

Massachusetts just made type 1 diabetes a comorbidity!
Looks like I’m in the next group up!

Finally got an appt for my mother - hopefully in a few weeks I’ll start the fun again for myself

Chris:

I am glad you got the first dose.

I am looking forward to getting mine, hopefully it will be sooner rather than later once the pharmacies start to distribute it.

Woking hits the headlines today............ for all the wrong reasons. Looks like the South African variant has arrived and the NHS are taking no chances with the publics health. SKY News even interviewed my next door neighbor on the 2pm news when she was passing a testing centre near Goldsworth Park Lake {eek3} My wife and I live just outside the catchment area that has all the community being tested but our daughter, grandson and son in law live right in the middle and our son and his wife live just inside the boundary of the area:eek:

Door-to-door testing for South African variant to start in Surrey | Daily Mail Online

Stay safe

Martyn:)

All tests for the family members came back negative for the Virus although Trudy had to have a second one as the first was "unclear" but the second was negative {bravo}}

So in addition to being the highest paid US federal employee, Fauci has now received a $1 million "prize" from a foreign source. Wow. I thought there might be some type of prohibition on government employees receiving benefits from foreign sources. But I'm sure there is some loophole. What a great gig. And you never have to produce results. Just give TV interviews.

He also reminds me of a fish out of water - flip flopping daily depending on what tv interview he is doing. I believe today he just contradicted himself again with the vaccine rollouts. Unbelievable. He may be an expert, but you got to start questioning credibility here at some point. You just can't keep changing stories, I am sorry but that becomes indefensible.

The old saying , if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, etc. You have to call things for what they are.

The experts deserve some blame but the media and its drive for ratings (money) deserve more.

Every news agencies across the board reported the following:

The vaccines side effects are unknown and potentially terrifying;

The vaccine finally rolled out but suddenly variations arrived that “might” be able to overcome these inoculations;

When no one bought that they reported:

The spread and deaths have slowed but that has nothing to do with vaccines, rather it is mostly due to mask wearing and social distancing;

Wait, what?

Hardly bother with the UK MSM anymore. Much prefer catching up with the News MSM don't bother with via YOUTUBE channels like WE GOT A PROBLEM, ALEX BELLFIELD and EX ARMY PAZ 49. ^&cool

Parts of this true are correct and parts are not.

At the beginning, aside from the adverse effects (AES) seen in the clinical trials, not all possible AEs were known. As the amount of doses given (approximately 53 MM) increases you learn more.

Some of the vaccines may work against the variant, others do not. Pfizer and Moderna are developing boosters against the variant. South Africa has stopped using the AstraZeneca vaccine because it offers minimal protection against the variant. SA is hoping the J & J one will be more effective.

The halting, to date, of the spread is due to a combination of both vaccines and mask wearing/social distancing. The more weapons you have the better. However, March is expected to see a rise in cases as the variant may become the dominant strain in this country.

Brad:

Excellent post that indirectly proves my point.

The scientific community continues to analyze the data and ever changing landscape of this pandemic. They do not offer any concrete conclusions as this, like most science based issues, continues to evolve.

The media on the other hand soundly purports that each bit of information, no matter how minuscule or unproven, is an absolute fact.

Jason, I saw last night that Israel, which has somewhere around half its population inoculated, has found that the Pfizer vaccine has 85% effectiveness. Not as good as 95% but still pretty good.

Brad:

As usual, off of the radar of mass media there is some legitimate good news on the vaccine front.

Israel has been at the forefront of so many scientific breakthroughs and milestones it is no surprise that they continue to be a huge part of COVID progress.

Thanks again for the important info.

Best,
Jason
