I see no other option...

staff told her to leave...she wouldn't...
cops told her to leave...she wouldn't...

masks are a choice of the business...
protect their staff and customers...

she refused to leave...

what do you do now?

Forcibly remove her. The optics aren’t good.

it's not a pretty picture...
but there seems to be no other options as she wouldn't leave on her own...
or put on a mask to conduct her business...

if it were my business...
I would want her forcibly removed if she wouldn't leave on her own...

all she needed to do was put on a mask and comply with the bank's rules...
stubborn woman...Americans don't like to be told what to do...
this could of been easily resolved if she simply complied...

I think you may see more of this in the near future...

I’m sure we will see more of this as restrictions loosen. One thing people don’t understand is that they don’t have the same rights on private property as public property. The Supreme Court has spoken on this matter.

CNN is reporting today that 107 million Americans have been vaccinated while the Wash Post ticker indicates 72 million. That's a significant difference of 35 million. You might think there would be one uniform source for this information but two major news outlets are reporting vastly different numbers.

Went out for lunch today to a large restaurant. Even though it was not crowded because of the limitations imposed there was a delay in seating people as they arrived. The net result was that a small number of people were dining in a mostly empty area while a large and growing number of people were congregating nose to nose in the waiting area. No logic to that result.

All,

I do not like when people knowingly disregard POSTED signs on door of business, places of worship or government buildings, a-la NO SMOKING, MASKS, or whatever. I went to the Red Wing store a few months back and they only allowed 3 customers in the store at a time. I peeked in the window...counted 2 customers...they sales dude waved me in...I went in, mask and all, bought my boots, left and was happy.

I mean, C'MON MAN this isn't new! We have been doing this for almost a year now and ya can read can't you? Seen the news have you? Heard about COVID did you? This was simple "I ain't gonna give the common courtesy to abide by mandates, rules, public health and common courtesy.

The Police Officer should be commended for being so patient and did his job and it was because of her that the situation escalated to her getting arrested. SHE was the one who knew the optics of her refusal to comply. What is the cop supposed do? He did the best he can with a woman who refused to comply, leave and then pulls the "Im so smart" card by reciting laws, trying to engage the officer in debate, asking for help in Spanish, yelling in public "this is what THEY do when you don't wear a mask" and on and on and on. No dummy this is what you DO when you don't get what you want: put on a show, play victim, claim broken bones, i.e. veiled police brutality AS IF she is apart of the struggle to expose police misconduct. She is everything that is wrong with the world right now.

Zero sympathy for her...enjoy your internet fame...and tell all your problems to the judge. Guarantee that she won't walk into a bank or anyplace again without her mask. This one is going to cost her a few nickels and it would have been cheaper for her to wear a $2 mask, do her banking and leave like everyone else.

Wow, the entitlement on this one...

John...

they have a social media name for people like this now...

they call them "Karens"...

someone who believes they are entitled and wants it their way...
someone that believes rules don't apply to them...
someone that believes they are somehow overly privileged...

Yeah Combat, there is a lot of dumb chit going on right now and I don't get it. I, like everyone else am tired of the shenanigans, lack of logic and what have you. You'd think this stuff was simple, but nah some folks just complicate things even further. I find it to be a tough beat for businesses and patrons who want to support their favorite joints and the restaurants who trying to do their best to comply...to stay in business!

Mix signals are to blame. A Mayor lays down a plan for their city, then gets usurped by the Governor, who then may or may not get usurped at the Federal Level. From day one this has been a leadership failure from the top down and the bottom up. Don't get me wrong, I know there are leaders who are and have been doing the right thing to keep their community safe. But, petty politics ruined all of last year and the response to COVID and EVERYONE knows it. Any person living and breathing knows the COVID response was dung show from the get go and just got out of hand and was ridiculous and we have 600K of deaths to prove it. It did not "disappear" it did not "go away" etc. No, no...NO and guess what? IT STILL HERE.

Last year the United States showed the world how easy it was to pull down our gym shorts in PE class in front of everybody. Hell, here in Texas we got our gym shorts and underwear pulled down and smacked on the bare butt during the snow storm. Talk about a disaster that was embarrassing and worst of all took lives. Geez, I have come to the conclusion that we are on our own man, you can't rely on anybody when the chips are down. At the end of the day, you will get better service and care or help in a time of need from a stranger in your neighborhood than you will from you City, State or Fed.

Okay, I'm done ranting.

some people never learn...

the same woman was arrested again yesterday...
for refusing to leave an Office Depot in Texas City...
about 12 miles from Galveston...
after her first arrest for violating a Galveston bank's mask policy...

what is she trying to prove?

Unbelievable . . . Some people. Those that believe without reason can not be convinced otherwise with reason.

All,

Im scheduled for April the 3rd...I think...I'll have to double check it may be April fools day, which I hope its not. Wouldn't that be poetic.

I was just reflecting this morning that during this entire pandemic I have yet to get sick from anything. Usually, I'll pick up a cold, sinus infection or something but I have been sick-free the entire year. Masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, social distancing HAVE to have something to do with it and making the conscious effort to wash hands every time I am in public I think has trained the mind to be cognizant of hygiene.

This is what I was talking about in the COVID the first or second thread before it got shut down. The precautions we take become second nature and in sense we are now classically conditioned to heed simple standards of cleanliness to avoid contracting a virus of any kind. I don't get out much into the public (by choice) but it has become a social faux pas to not wear a mask, cough or sneeze in public and we have gotten used to the masks and they are no longer "weird"...just like in Japan. It is my hope now that if you are sick the mentality would be to stay home and mask up when your out...just like Japan. Further, you will not be looked down upon or made fun of if you take the respectful and courteous step to keep you cold to yourself...just like Japan. At this point, when I am dealing with people who I don't know or shopping and someone makes a snide remark about masks or otherwise, I just ignore them and stay silent. By not engaging with them about the policies of the masks (or whatever) I have spoken to them loud and clear.

Onto the dummy in Galveston...Mike at this point she is proving to be mentally or socially ill. She is putting on a show and obviously knows it. Now she's caught two cases in two different cities and when the legal bills start pilling up I think she'll get the picture. Man, I hope she shows up to court mask less and doesn't get through security and misses her court hearing. Then she'll get a bench warrant for failure to show and yet another charge. For a lawyer I think this would be easy money, unless of course she has a public defender. I hope he or she is bi-lingual too.
