I am not sure how the manufacturers and collectors requirement for detail equates to accepting items that are either badly made, poorly painted or that arrive broken/damaged because of the latter issues or, faulty packaging. the tail fins and supports are not really collectors pushing the bar for extra detail are they?
I accept some may come damaged. possibly damage by transport?? packers in the factory being heavy handed?? but, all of the ones we have heard so far are damaged in the same way and extent.
I would say that because of the limited numbers that Figarti make compared to others I would expect the absolute opposite of this scotty's law!!! which, can we really accept as an explanation? since there are so few they could easily be scrutinised, absolutely, before they leave to the main distributors. It may only be a few damaged but, when you have such low production numbers the percentage rates increase quite a bit. we are now at nearly 10% of the production being damaged!!
