Figarti Stuka Photos (2 Viewers)

I am not sure how the manufacturers and collectors requirement for detail equates to accepting items that are either badly made, poorly painted or that arrive broken/damaged because of the latter issues or, faulty packaging. the tail fins and supports are not really collectors pushing the bar for extra detail are they?

I accept some may come damaged. possibly damage by transport?? packers in the factory being heavy handed?? but, all of the ones we have heard so far are damaged in the same way and extent.

I would say that because of the limited numbers that Figarti make compared to others I would expect the absolute opposite of this scotty's law!!! which, can we really accept as an explanation? since there are so few they could easily be scrutinised, absolutely, before they leave to the main distributors. It may only be a few damaged but, when you have such low production numbers the percentage rates increase quite a bit. we are now at nearly 10% of the production being damaged!!

Lets hope no more have any damage

Well I have a happy ending to my saga. My friend that bought one and decided not to keep it traded me his which was is in pristine condition for mine !
How could I say No !!! He has a co-worker willing to take the other one off of his hands. It all worked out in the end ^&grin

So your selling the damaged one now for the same price ^&confuse

You would of thought figarti would of had more shipping problems with the Owl than with the Stuka with the radar aerial detail :( ,

I'm amazed that damaged Figarti pieces are a surprise to any of you at all. These issues have been discussed on this board for years. Damaged planes, tanks, figures, no consistency in figure scale in the same range. I'm going to start a new drinking game, every time you read the word "GLUE" in a post about Figarti drink a shot. It will help deaden the pain when you realize that the piece you ordered and waited months for is in pieces when you open it :)

Post of the year!!!!

My friend is selling it to his co-worker, I got a fresh mint plane and the other guy is buying the other one. Win /Win situation. It is now his plane so whatever they have worked out. ^&grin

well, apologies my comments were not a dig really at FL just a light hearted jibe!!! I have a good bit of FL (mind, the WWII stuff is all about to be moved on) and they are nice but, not above comments that are not all Rah Rah. Everyone is entitled to like what they like and, everyone is also entitled to say what they don't like or, find wrong with whats on offer. Anyway, away from the jest with Wayne.

I have to disagree with you KV with prices the way they are (and, even when they were cheaper) superglue should not be a way of life in this hobby. Many collect these very sets because they cannot build and paint themselves and really should not be expected to do repairs however simple we or they find them.

I am probably not the person to be moaning the money and products I have had over the years fixing and repainting stuff for slack manufacturing but, its a simple job to ensure a model comes pristine. I mean, we have guys on here, and no disrespect to them that have already painted their Stuka which, means its worth zippo now, if they ever come to sell it, as its not mint.

Its a sad state of affairs if we live by the mantra that superglue to the ready or, mitch or KV et al will fix them good as new.

OOOPs to much fun Mitch..........................^&grin

Excellent Post{sm4}{sm4}{sm4}......I still think that Figarti should offer a discount/rebate to those collectors who have recieved damaged items due to faulty packaging....That is the only fair thing to do IMO.....This problem really needs to be rectified

Does FL offer any discount for damage vehicles/figures ??

I used to buy a lot of Figarti sets before I decided to only collect Aussies, and it is true that I did receive some models that were damaged. However I always found that Treefrog and or Figarti directly were very willing to arrange repair or replacement.

Good post. These problems, which I have been following for years, are the main reason I have never purchased a Figarti piece. I only buy via the internet at this point, so I prefer not to take a chance on getting something that has a high chance of coming damaged. As I mentioned somewhere else, I have only received one damaged piece in all the years I have been buying via mail, from all the different makers I have bought from. Figarti makes beautiful looking items, but the unresolved problems, high prices, and extremely low production numbers equal no sale, to me. Why spend high dollars for a piece that has a high probability of arriving damaged, then, because of low production numbers, has no hope of being replaced because it is long sold out? Makes no sense to me. JMO. -- Al

For the most part, damaged items are a thing of the past. Their packaging is very good now. I think it could have been better here but the packaging on their tanks and vehicles is now top rate.

LOL LOL ....First of all as mentioned earlier by Brad and Myself First Legion does not have breakage issues...VERY VERY RARE......WHY??.... EXCELLENT PACKAGING.....If something arrives broken FL promptly replaces it.......but this has been an on again /off again issue for Figarti for some time now.......Packaging Problems Again???....Since they only produce 100 of these planes it is imperative to not have this many breakage issues since a replacement model is not likely..... It really should not happen with this frequency....It's not good for either the customer or the manufacturer.

I am a regular Figarti customer and really like their products......BUT.....Some good points are made here.....Hopefully this will be solved once and for all

The situations aren't comparable because all Figarti items are limited items that are retired almost immediately whereas FL items take a very long time to be retired. In the case of an item like the Stuka, if you receive a damaged item it's unlikely you'll be able to replace it, whereas with FL it's replaceable.
