Thanks Mark...Fraxinus aka Ken has your fort covered...it looks pretty good too from what I have seen...

Looking stunning. These things can't be rushed and your doing a excellent job the attention to detail is amazing
Mitch

I got a little work done today...

all the interior buildings are secured and adhered to the inside walls...

all the steps are secured...

the lamps...unfortunately I will not have them light up...

the transformer I got...had too high a voltage and burned one lamp up..it actually melted it in about 20 seconds...

I clipped all the wires off the lamps and will still attach them in various spots...I mounted them on a small round dowel and will punch small holes in the walls and insert the dowels with glue...exposing only the lamp...they should still look really good...

I still need to make the tower for the top of the fort...maybe about 1 foot tall...with a ladder to the top...

then do railing all along the catwalk and tower...

add the 8 lanterns...

fabricate some type of latch on the inside of the door...

paint the water trough and add Magic Water...

a few other little odds and ends...

but I can see the end in sight...

Shame about the lights Michael, but either way it is a great building and looking forward to seeing it complete and involved in some combat :)

Coming along very nicely. Hope you were not too dissapointed about the lights it will still look awesome when completed
Mitch

Michael your Fort will be awesome, whether it has lights that work or not.

I am looking forward to the finished building

Cheers

Thanks Mitch, Scott...Martyn...

I got the railing done today...well some of it...

Reminds me that I should be working on my Napoleonic redoubt...oh wait, there is that stockade fort too, and that pile of gabions...and those gun batteries...and that Napoleonic gunboat...and..oh wait, thats everything I have in the basement. I still need to add in the retaining walls and "flooring" on the redoubt. The stockade has 1/3 to half of the walls on, and the gabions are 3/4 done. Still have to finish detailing one battery, and carve another. The boat is nothing put a simple foam hull. Good luck on yours, but remember not to get caught up in every last thing. For wood planks, cut the ends off Popsicle sticks, and soak them in water, dirt, and a little brown paint.

Michael

You've really done a great job packing so many features into your fort.

It would be great with French Foreign Legionnaires too.

Hehehe...sounds like my house...

an unfinished pyramid...1/2 an artillery battery...a camel that only has a coat of primer on it...

I'm impressed...3/4 done on the gabions...at least you're getting close on some stuff...

Rule #1..."Don't sweat the little things"...

Rule #2..."They're all little things"...

have fun...do your best...when it turns into work...it's time to quit...

good luck on your projects...;)

Thanks Randy...yea...it's better suited as a Legionnaire's fort...but it is what it is...a Gordon's fort...:D...

do you think the courtyard turned out too small...

it's still shrinking...

The detailing on the buildings is great! About the gabions- I was at this show, and found a pack of 15 hand woven twig gabions that were unfilled. All for $5! best find ever!

thanks Nap...

Okay...

if all you have to do is fill them with dirt...

then you are more than 3/4's finished...

ps...if you find some more at that price...I need about a dozen of them...I love good deals...:D

That courtyard will be big enough for roll call, most of the Forts defenders will be on the walk way dealing with the Dervish:cool:

Enjoy your golf, I've just seen our weather for the coming week and there is a threat of snow:eek:

Cheers
