Let it Snow (1 Viewer)

Probably better than watching The Shining. The laugh tracks on those old TV shows were hilarious. I once met Bob Denver at a book signing. He was a strange dude. I think he eventually retired to WVA before he passed away.

The dialog was cheesy as were the jokes, but sorry, I find most of those episodes comical................the fact that they could not find their way off the island with a professor super genius and a skipper who knew boats and sailing is beyond idiotic, but it is what it is.

"We'll put a dummy on the boat and sail it out into the lagoon"..........Gilligan "Oh no, I'm not going out on that boat alone!"

Glad you all got through the Storm!! As far as Gilligan's Island, love that show!! My fav was the episode a Japanese WII soldier showed up on the Island thinking the War was still on I think?? Ginger getting close to him and he replied..." aweee, you steam up my glasses!!🤣

The amazing thing about those old TV shows is that I can watch them over and over without getting tired of them. Green Acres, Hogan's Heroes, Andy Griffith etc. I couldn't do that with any sitcom made in the last 40 years. Same thing with Westerns.

Sammy, its like this, "you steam grasses." My favorite episode also.

Agree,
I grew up on the afternoon comedies (reruns of previous prime time and some were still in prime time!). Favorites - Happy Days, Sanford and Son (there truly was no one like Redd Foxx, just loved him), Jeffersons (Sherman H. was a close second to Redd), Good Times (JJ), Mamas Family, Diffrent Strokes, Gimme a Break, One Day at a Time, etc. The list goes on. Have a lot of them on DVD.

I also like Hogans Heroes, who could forge Sgt. Schultz! and Klink! On another more sad note, has anyone seen the film about the Murder of Bob Crane (Col. Hogan), really sad story and freaky too. Who would have thought it.

Tom,

How about Kojack? I remember this one as a tot and Barney Miller? Plus, WKRP in Cincinnati. The Jeffersons were a hoot and yes Sanford and Son. I also remember All in the Family and Threes Company. Great, funny shows.

Anyway, yes I saw the Hogan movie with Willem Dafoe and Greg Kinnear. Strage story and very bizarre how that story went.

PS: After I grew out of love for Ginger, I fell in love with Stephanie Powers from Hart to Hart. During all these romances, I was still true to Dain, from the Price is Right.

Me too. William Holden was a lucky guy! :wink2:

All,

Blistery yesterday and today (I know, I know nothing as bad as you east coasters and midwesterners), but woke up to ICE everywhere. Thank God, I covered the plants with the secret U-Haul blankets and then put a tarp on top. Hopefully, no pool pipers are busted as last year that cost me 5 K. The sprinkler damage was another 1K and the lost plants were around 3K, plus all the sweat to dig them out and put in the new ones. Last years Blizzard was for the books, but I got heat and water this go around.

End of next week should be in the 70's.

End of April should be in the 90’s.

As if things were not bad enough, it is supposed to snow here tomorrow. Maybe three inches. Good grief.

We got between 4-5 inches of the white stuff here in south central Wisconsin yesterday. Mother Nature's reminder that winter is not over.

Chris you have to understand . . . In Wisconsin we have two seasons: Shovel (snow) and Swat (mosquitoes)

That's totally false! The seasons are Cold and Construction:wink2:.

Same going on here.

Nothing like our OZ friends have been through but here's a fun one:
a 120-150 yo Hickory went down in the recent winds here, taking with it a smaller Cherry and a venerable Maple (among other things) and our neighbors' ability to escape their driveway (lady of their house screamed mum out beacuse she (neighbor) missed her 3 hours of Church - how Christian...).
The guys we hired had to work 5-6 hrs in the snow to clear it all. They did it just before the nuns hit them with rulers.

But (and this is the wrong thread for this so sorry a little bit) at least we're above water!

Seriously mates and TS-Friends:
Stay safe to all of our friends Down Under! Our prayers are with you even as the World insists on overwhelming our prayer list.
