My JJD Inter-War Aviation Collection (1 Viewer)

Thank you Al . . . . I plan to leave the Left Wing Man on the stand placed as if he is making his approach to land on the SARA . . . . Once the deck crew figures are released the plane director figure with paddles will be helping the pilot with his approach and landing . . . .

IWA-12 F4B-4, Section 4 Left Wingman landed on the deck of my USS Saratoga display this past Thursday afternoon. Was gone for the weekend visiting family and this is the first chance I have had to take some photos of it as it made its approached to the SARA. My Fighter Squadron Six (VF-6B), Section 4 is now complete. Now all that is needed is the deck crew figures to help service and prep these beautiful Navy Yellow Wings . . . .

Nice to see the full section together. Chris

This is an overall view of what my US Navy Carrier based operations display area currently looks like. I framed and hung the photos yesterday . . . gave me something to work on while I wait on the release of the deck crew figures and being able to afford the additional deck plates I want . . . . .

. . . . and its a perfect corner to work with Chris. All the prints I found on the internet while "google searching". I downloaded them to "My Pictures" on my computer and then printed them using glossy 8.5"x11" photo paper. I found the four frames at Amazon.com . . . . 8.5 x 11 Ikea frame four-pack . . . .

Absolutely beautiful, Mike. It is the perfect display for these outstanding models and the pictures are the icing on the cake. :salute:::salute:: -- Al

Mike you are really "Hitting a Home Run" or "Throwing a 75 yard T.D. Pass" (depending on your sport of choice ) with this tremendous set up.

It is all coming together so perfectly.
As Al mentioned, those photos are a "perfect" companion to the models and setup you are doing.

I'm an keeping an eye on this thread! {sm4}

Thank you very much Larry . . . . . As we discussed at the Chicago show last month, its a great time to be a TS collector especially if you like aviation history. With future releases such as JJD's carrier deck crew figures and Corsair, along with K&C's Avenger torpedo bomber, how could one not be excited about the possibilities . . .

Today is my 69th birthday and earlier this morning delivered to my door was a package containing JJD BH-100 annd BH-200. I ordered these carrier deck plates using TF gift certificates from my adult children and wife that I received from them on Sunday when we celebrated my birth anniversary. With the addition of these two deck plates, my 1945 USS Bunker Hill carrier deck display area is now complete . . . all I need now are some deck crew figures and carrier planes. The display area is approximately 30-inches square . . . So far its been a SPOOK-tacular day for me . . .

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Mike !

Great timing on a wonderful acquisition...soon those planes will be 'bouncing' down on your completed carrier.

Have a great day.

Thank you Ivanhoe . . . . Looking forward to what 2018 will bring in the way of carrier based planes. Of course we are all aware of John's Corsair that was introduced at the Chicago show, but one can only hope or imagine what other planes may be offered in the coming months . . . .
