Steelers..........we laid an egg twice against Cinci. First game, our fault, should have put them away, this game, oh god, my worst fears are confirmed, they are legit and we can play not so good at times. Going to be a rough road the rest of the season for us, and now with Troy down again, doesn't look good, he really changes the game for us.

The Colt-Patriot game was one of the best I've seen in a long time. Belichek's 4th down call was "interesting", to say the least. IMO that call was a concession that the game was over on that call. If the Pat's make it, they run out the clock and win. I feel Belichek knew Manning was going to beat them if he got the ball back at all, ie., by punt or 4th down failure. With Manning, the distance he had to go meant nothing, 28 yards or 70 yards. I see "The Call" as one of the most daring I have witnessed in pro ball. I couldn't have done it. I would have punted and placed the game in the hands of my defense. It is going to be an interesting week in the New England area. -- lancer

The classic "If they make it he's a genius, if they don't he's an idiot" scenario.

It took balls to make the call he did.

Tom it ALMOST sounds like your talking about the Ravens. LOL

The Bengals are for real for sure this year. I think that right now they can beat any team in the NFL. And I'm not talking winning by some fluke or bad call, I talking about out playing them.

.....Orton was hurt and Simms stunk; that said, good job Redskins, thank you very much.
............
Well George it is another tough year for the Skins but they did show some promise this week. Simms made it easier for them but frankly those two first half Orton TDs were blown coverage gifts so it is not clear to me he would have made the difference. The coverage in the second half was much more typical of the only consistent part of the team this year. Given the season to date, I had almost reached the point where I root for their losses to get a better draft position but perhaps there is some life.;)

Funny thing is this year, the Steelers and Ravens can actually elminate each other if they split and lose other games. I think it mathematically possible that Houston and Jacksonville can secure the spots. WOW, didn't think that would be anywhere int he cards!

The Giants had there best Sunday in 5 weeks . . . by not playing:eek: . . . seriously though, the Eagles, Cowboys, Bears and Falcons all lost. The Giants are in a tie for the wildcard spots with the Eagles and Falcons, and are only 1 game behind the cowboys.

I guess a win is a win ...but if my Ravens don't find some offense again it's gonna be a long game vs. the colts Sunday...Sammy

Gotta agree with this. The Ravens were unimpressive last night. Colts are gonna massacree the Ravens if they don't get their act together. The Ravens division is too tough for mediocrity. 3rd place means no playoffs. -- lancer

It almost seems like the Ravens Offense doesn't even start to wake up until the 2nd half.

The best that the Ravens can hope for is for Payton Manning misses the flight to Baltimore. LOL :p And they would still have to play their "A" game. (if at this point they have one)

Chuck

With the Saints easy schedule, what do you expect? They only have 1 tought game and that against the New England Pats on Nov. 30th. You don't see them playing the Vikings, Steelers, Bengals, or Colts! If they did I think that their record would be somewhat different. :p

Time will tell my friend im just enjoying the season, well the games i get to see in Aus.

It seems every week my Ravens can find a new way to lose a close game to a good opponent :(.... well if we miss the playoffs this year you can pick a number of stupid plays/penalties/turnovers to figure out why we may not go the playoffs this year, hopefully we can man up next week and play 4 quarters against the Steelers, not the 57..58..59 minutes but a whole game, looks like we have to win 5 out of 6 to make the playoffs, a tall order for my boys, but I think we can do it...Sammy

You can't go down to the 1 yard line with a first down and NOT get a touchdown.

You just can't do that against a good team like Indy. :(

Steelers are in the same boat this year, what a wild year, how the heck we lose to the Chiefs in overtime is beyond me. With Troy in limbo, I am not really looking forward to the rest of this season. It sucks. As for the Ravens, it's just not their year for some reason, they look off. My predicition is the Steelers and Ravens split, other teams win and both sit out the playoffs this year!

My Colts are still rolling, but those 4th quarter comebacks are going to give me a nervous breakdown!! I don't look forward to the playoffs... we rarely do very well.

Thats 10.........................:D

Well the Skins are back on their (downward) track and managed another game without a TD. Of course a loss to the Cowboys is worth at least 3 losses to anyone else. But hey, at least the season has some magic in it. Farve continues to defy the laws of physics (or at least aging) and had another personal best game with 4 TDs and and 88% completion rate.:cool: That must make you TF folks happy.;)

Wasted Sunday watching my teams (Redskins and Ravens) both blow their games. Both should have won and, as usual this year, they both found a way to lose. Moving on, there were some pretty wild games around the league again. It seems no lead is safe this year. Some of the upsets are pretty hard to understand. How do Oakland and KC win? Giants got lucky and Denver continues its nosedive into oblivion. Really must congratulate the Lion-Browns game for providing such a remarkable ending. The NFL is proving to be quite enjoyable to follow this year, unless you are a Ravens or Redskins fan. -- lancer

My Giants finally got off the snide . . . but they have not had a defense this pathetic since the '70's. Coughlin almost blew it again by being ridiculously conservative on offense and relying on the defense (who frankly, couldn't stop a college team right now). This after blowing close games in the 4th quarter to both the Cardinals and the Chargers by being too conservative. He better realise that if the Giants don't keep scoring on offense, they are not beating anyone.

For me, in the 4th quarter of every game, every series is 4 down territory. No punting, because the other team is just going to score anyway. Additionally, I would never run on a running down, because the Giants have been completely unable to run the ball this year. I would pass on running downs, and only run when there is no way the other team is expecting the run (3rd and long, the field spread, 3 or 4 wide sets).

Tom, I thinking more and more that you are exactly correct. Ar least for the Ravens, I can't see them making the playoffs this year.
