A bit of NCAA hoops trivia...while Northwestern may not have ever made it to the Big Dance, they are a part of tournament history!
From Wiki...
The 1939 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament involved 8 schools playing in single-elimination play to determine the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship. It was the first NCAA basketball national championship tournament. It began on March 17, 1939, and ended with the championship game on March 27 on Northwestern University's campus in Evanston, Illinois.
I've played on that very floor ^&grin
So I guess that means it's about a 73 year drought...ouch!
