Navy escapes by the skin of their teeth as Temple failed on a 2-point conversion with less than a minute left, leaving the Middies with a 2 point victory. It's been a strange season for Navy at 2-2. They have lost by 52 and 33 points and won by 2 and 3 points. Interesting pattern.:rolleyes2:
I also see that that Alabama has decided to outscore their opponents instead of playing defense. They have given up 19, 24, and tonight, 48 points in a shootout with Ole Miss. I think the 2 teams set an ACC record for yards gained/yielded in a game as Bama had 723 yards and Ole Miss had 647. Bama eventually outscored Miss and won 63-48. The Bear is rolling over and over... -- Al

I had a choice of three games to watch last night:

Alabama vs. Mississippi State (one team with players auditioning for the NFL)

Miami vs. Clemson (one team with players auditioning for the NFL)

Temple vs. Navy (one team with players preparing to put their lives on the line to defend our country)

Watching the Midshipmen win was well worth my time.

Me too.:salute:: I turned over to the Bama game only after the Navy game finished. Enjoyed the Navy game quite a bit while just being shocked by the complete lack of defense in the Bama game. -- Al

I think Alabama could be in for an upset if they play a team that has a good defense. Funny to watch Saban's antics on the sideline. CHris

Army is playing at UTSA this Saturday.

I would actually go to the game if it wasn’t for the pandemic.

Alabama vs Ole Miss (Not State, perish the thought!) was entertaining. However, what I believe was a boneheaded move by Ole Miss Coach Lane K. put the game over. That said, he gave Bama a strong run for their money, would have loved to see the upset. This game is why I like College Football, no bs, just good ole fashioned football.

On another note, FSU improved by playing about 3 good qtrs against Notre Dame, knowing they were gonna lose, they kept it close for a half and played strong to finish it out. It is a start, but still an *** kicking.

Tom, my wife, a Miss State grad, appreciates the correction. :salute:: Chris

Too funny, I have worked a good bit with Economic Development in Mississippi over the years and that is quite an interesting rivalry! Both schools honestly are quite wonderful, I have often said I would retire in Oxford at Ole Miss and tailgate in a seersucker suit and dine on fine china! Honestly, have never seen anything like it. But one of my long time contacts there always told me - the smart ones go to State and become scientists, doctors, veterinarians, etc. The connected ones go to Ole Miss and become lawyers and politicians and (family) money managers!

Odd you mentioned that. My wife grew up an Ole Miss fan. But she wanted to get a computer science degree. She was an early female in that field. Ole Miss didn't offer that so she wound up at State. Her sister graduated from U of Miss.

Some yrs ago the governor sent questionnaires out to professionals asking what it would take for them to return to their home state. I told her to put at the top of the list "a divorce." :redface2:

Define irony, over the weekend Florida’s head football coach Dan Mullen all but demanded a sellout of 90,000 fans for this Saturday’s home game versus LSU despite COVID-19 dangers.

Monday he was asked if he stood by his request, he emphatically did.

Yesterday, the SEC rescheduled the game due to an outbreak of the Coronavirus among Florida players.

It should come as no surprise that the SEC put football over the safety of fans and players. I'm all for playing football with the proper protocols but it is reckless to conduct themselves as they have. The PAC and BIG 10 erred in the other direction. They are no better in my opinion. If they deemed it unsafe to play earlier in the year, nothing has changed. In fact it has gotten worse. So either they were wrong about the safety risks when they cancelled the season or they no longer care.

Good lord...
52-7 and it's not even half time...
guess that is why Clemson is rated #1...

I guess these are the kind of things you post when your regions beloved football coach turns out to be an aider and abettor of a serial pedophile.

Nick Saban tested positive for the VID Tuesday night. His positive test was from PCR testing, the gold standard of Corona virus testing with false positives only happening approximately 5 times out of every 900,000 tests.

After being tested repeatedly between then and Saturday night he was able to coach against UGA.

Maybe the answer to getting this all under control is testing the positive cases over and over until we get the results we want?

Very weird. And another Georgia choke job last night.

Only weird if you have the interpersonal skills / self-awareness of a piece of granite.

Dawg nation remains resolute.

LOL. Maybe they should have been more "resolute" last night when they were getting their backsides kicked. That was embarrassing.

It seems reckless for a coach to be positive on Tuesday and coach his team on the field Saturday. He may still have been contagious. There was no reason to be on the field in the midst of his players. He could have sat an empty press box, for example, and coached the game.

Losing to fellow SEC powerhouse Bama is hardly embarrassing. Losing to a PAC 12 or Big 10 school, now that’s shameful.

When USC becomes relevant in football again, do let us know. If not for being the alma mater of OJ Simpson, few would even know they have a football team.
