A couple of major programs are really sliding this year. Penn St. is 0-4. Michigan looks awful. They took a real spanking last night. Harblow may be on his way out. That seemed like a dream matchup after his success at Stanford but it has turned into a nightmare. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. He is a real alpha hotel. Liberty keeps on rolling!

Cancelations everywhere this weekend.

I have given up on paying attention to the rankings etc., I just try and find good games to watch no matter what the conference or what the records of the teams that are playing each other.

Penn St. is 0-5 for the first time in their history. And they have been playing since 1887! The mighty Trojans continued their march to an undefeated season with a win in frosty Utah. A couple of teams played yesterday despite having a combined 28 players with the virus. And the stands at the Auburn game were more full than empty. Crazy.

To that, watched games yesterday that I normally would have missed had my local favorites been playing. Saw OSU v Indiana and was highly entertained, as I was by Clemson v ND. Both worth watching, though I don't care about any of them. Beginning to wonder if Navy or UMd will ever play again.:rolleyes2: -- Al

Alabama confounded Vegas and doubled the point spread winning against Kentucky 60-3. {eek3} It's funny to read head coach Mark Stoops and players say "this is not who we are." I wonder then who it was playing the game. :rolleyes2: Chris

It might be time for my alma mater, Ursinus College, to demand resumption of the series they dropped back in 1917. The series stands at 0-2 in Penn State's favor. Maybe UC could even it out a little bit.

Prost!

Response to Jason - I cannot take the standings seriously either. Too many cancellations, too many scheduling changes. An undefeated season to me this year really means not a whole lot regardless of who the team is. No consistency at all. As a matter of fact, to date I have seen one team play consistently - Alabama. If they can keep this intensity, there is no other team in the country who should be on the same field.

Another prediction - Notre Dame beats Clemson twice this year. I will go out on a limb and say it. I think the Clemson QB finally has an inflated head and it will be his downfall. As a matter of fact, not even sure why he wants to play anymore this year, with the draft and contract awaiting him, he has nothing to gain in my opinion.

Again - one team looks in a class by itself - Alabama.

Another addition I forgot - Kudos to Florida State, they had a cancellation of their game this weekend and thus were not forced to record another loss...........................not real happy in Seminoles land this year.

This would definitely be the year. Maybe also add Michigan to the schedule. They are amazingly bad given the talent pool. It's a very strange year when Liberty has a better football team than Penn St.

The Apple Cup has been cancelled and probably won’t be rescheduled. It has been played every year since 1944. Depending on further testing and an availability of an open date it might still be played but it’s trajectory truly sums up this college football season.

Quoting my self , but the more I read on the cancellation and its aftermath, the more I think Dabo and his QB are arrogant jerks. I mean c'mon pointing fingers about COVID when it seems like Clemson obviously has issues - why do they keep having so many positives ???? What is their deal, their protocols? And yet they want a forfeit from FSU? Really?? I hope they get waxed from here on out in the playoff, I always thought he was a jerk, now its confirmed.

I can’t help but wonder if the rocky college football season full of cancellations is indicative of how the college basketball season might go.

Found out this AM that UMd started it's B-ball season last night. Had no idea they were playing. Guess I'll have to pay more attention to the schedule with the way things are going. With so many cancellations, I don't even check the football schedule until Saturday noon to see who's on or who's been sidelined. -- Al

SC-Colorado game has been cancelled due to COVID. The folks in California are blaming Utah because SC played them last week and they had some cases on that team. It's a bit ironic given the situation in California. But SC remains undefeated!

Stanford got a huge victory against Cal in the Big Game yesterday.

Great win and now at 1-2 they just need one win and a tie in their final 2 games to be bowl eligible.

This season couldn’t be an more strange.

The way Oregon has played, the PAC North is wide open. I was shocked at how badly the Ducks have looked. They were fortunate to beat a lowly UCLA team. They up a record 220+ rushing yards to some guy in the loss to the Beavers last night.

The media is touting the appearance of the first female in a Power 5 football game like it was some type of major event. It came off like a huge gimmick to me, though. She got to kickoff just once and they asked to her squib kick the ball! If she can kick at a college level, then let her kick the ball like anyone else. I'm all for allowing anyone to play if they are qualified to do so, but not as a stunt. If anything, this made it look like she was not qualified to be out there. Vanderbilt wouldn't squib the kickoff with their normal kicker on the field.

Another reason Vanderbilt is 0-9 and fired their coach after the game. Reminds me of the female defensive back (not a Div 1 school) who's 5'6" and said she wants to play in the NFL. Well okay, me too. :rolleyes2: Chris

To compound matters she was named special teams player of the week in the SEC. For a "perfectly executed" squib kick! You can't make that up. This is obviously very silly but it highlights the insanity of political correctness run amuck in sports. The whole thing is a stunt and then to compound matters the SEC felt under pressure to awarded it lest they be criticized in the media.

I wonder why the Big 10 has even bothered to try and play this season. I haven't counted the cancelled games, except for UMd, but there are a lot. UMd had 8 games on the season slate after the Big 10's late start. So far, 3 of 7 have been cancelled, leaving UMd with a 5 game season, IF they get the final game in against Rutgers. Why did they bother? The B-ball season is going the same way at this point with 3 of 6 games cancelled for UMd. What a joke. -- Al
