NCAA Football 2019 (2 Viewers)

Crazy money being thrown around for coaches. Brian "Sgt. Carter" Kelly getting $95 million from LSU. They are paying him so much he has apparently even started talking in a Southern accent. He must be hoping Nick Satan is on his way out at Bama because Kelly certain had no luck coaching against the SEC teams while at ND.

What a choke job by Georgia again. They went down like the Titanic after being up 10-0. No way should they make the playoff. I dislike Saban but he is the greatest college football coach in history. Coming off that brutal Auburn game to torch Georgia was unbelievable. It also highlights how soft the SEC is beyond Bama. Georgia's D for the ages was absolutely torched. They were a fraud.

Georgia’s loss proves just how flawed this garbage CFP voting system is.

They had nothing to play for since they were in the playoff even if Alabama blew them out (which they did).

If the NCAA had any guts (which they don’t) they would implement a system that values championship games by making a win in your championship a prerequisite for making the playoff.

Georgia is definitely one of the top four teams but it is ridiculous that they back into the college playoff. Bama effectively has to beat them twice to win the championship. It also shows how skewed the stats are with Georgia's D coming in having given up less than 7 points per game. They played teams like Charleston Southern, Vanderbilt, UAB, and several hapless SEC teams including TN, Florida, and South Carolina. Even the few competitive teams on their schedule like Clemson ended up having a terrible year.

The championship game should be Michigan/Alabama, Georgia got demolished and Cincinnati; yeah, nice little story, but I don't care.

Hopefully that's the match up we get, we'll see.

And yes, Saban is an incredible coach, they blew Georgia out of the stadium, it was men vs boys, that Georgia QB is not very good, as in he's terrible, how they were undefeated going into that game speaks volumes as to the march of the tomato cans they played.

Just like Cincinnati.

I'm really looking forward to this game. I've watched almost every GA game this year, and love their rabid defense. I just don't see AL being able to score enough against that defense, while GA will manufacture some points even if their starting QB was to go down. Also, this AL defense can be scored on. I think GA will run right at them early and often and try to soften them up in what will mostly be a field position game early on before GA pulls away some in the 3rd qtr and expands their lead in the 4th. It should be a fun one matter what happens.

Ooops, this didn’t age well. 😀

Bama-Georgia should be a great game. Bama has shown signs of being mortal. Coming off a tough 3OT game that they should have lost. Usually that means trouble rebounding for the next game. Georgia has looked invincible. Typically that would mean a big Bulldog win, but their history of choking might mean they get tight if the game stays close. Tough to bet against Saban in these types of big games.

Wow, pretty impressive analysis.

Yeah, no it did not, but that's sports for you.

Georgia looked impressive shutting down a bunch of tomato cans, Alabama lit them up yesterday and their top receiver did not play in the second half.

That's the beauty of sports; there is no script and again, another example of why I don't gamble.

The oddsmakers had Ga a 6.5 favorite. I dont bet on sports. But my sense is Vegas is pretty good at its job. That’s why I don’t bet on sports.

Is Ga really a fraudulent joke of a football program? Michigan may well expose them as such. Or maybe Ga redeems itself. Heck if I know.

Before last night Ga had won 16 games in a row. That’s a hard streak to maintain. Sometimes a loss/beatdown will get your mind right. Or not.

If it ends up GA vs AL #2 for the natl championship, I’ll have a hard time watching it live.

There are a lot of flaws in the Championship series as many have noted here. But at least we have a playoff system. Think back to the days of the poll system to determine a #1. THere was always a matrix of games to be considered. Team A beat Team B who beat Team C. So Team A is better than Team C in the final poll. Some seasons had unbeaten teams left out. A bad situation.

Georgia did not score an offensive TD in the first game of the season against what proved to be a weak Clemson team. May have been an early indicator of a poor showing against a good team (AL). Chris

UGa v Mich will be a good one, but I' have a feeling Cinncy is going to be sorry... -- Al

So Vegas has Georgia a 7 point favorite vs the Wolverines. If Ga is truly a highly overrated fraud who only wins against tomato can opponents, taking Michigan and the points should be easy money. Right?

Yup, I'd think so, easy money.

But I don't gamble.

Again, Georgia clearly had nothing to lose.

Under the current system Georgia was in no matter what and there was no way “the geniuses” aka the committee was going to make them play Alabama in the semi-finals.

Rankings are a terrible way to decide a playoff/champion, if you lose a championship game you should be out, no matter what the the sport or level.

Well, I would not describe the SEC Championship, an undefeated season and finally beating the Tide as “nothing to lose”. But I get your point.

No, it didn't, and that's what I get for going against Saban. He is the best, that's for sure. Kirby Smart did his squad no favors though with an offensive game plan that actually went away from Georgia's strength in favor of tendency breaking. I would have preferred to see a more direct, power running attack early and often rather than put the game in the hands of a QB who will not be playing on Sundays. Moreover, if Saban had been coaching GA, he would have had the courage to make a QB change at the half to someone who would have had a chance to match the hot hand of Bryce Young. Enter JT Daniels. Although he is not as mobile as Stetson Bennett, he can make all the throws and would have been a nice curve ball to throw at AL. If nothing else they could have tried him for two series to see if he could jump start the offense. Anyways, just my take. Congrats to AL on wonderfully crafted and executed game plan. So Bradley, if the the two teams meet again in the playoffs, I'd like to see your prediction of the course and outcome of the game.

To be fair AL played Mercer Bears, Southern Miss Golden Eagles, New Mexico State and hapless SEC teams TN and FL too. Clemson was a bold season opener for GA actually because at the time Clemson's deficiencies were not known. It was a tense game dominated by defense. Furthermore, Clemson only lost to Pitt and to NC State (I believe in OT) after that.

The one thing that everyone seems to forget that out of conference games were usually scheduled anywhere from 8-10 years ago.

When UGA scheduled, or should I say rescheduled Clemson (as they used to play them regularly in the 1990’s and early 2000’s), Clemson was nowhere near the team they are now and Clemson had not won any of their championships yet.

I am really looking forward to the Army/Navy game later today.

For the first time in as long as I can remember (if ever) the game is being played on my birthday and I plan on making it an integral part of the day!
