It's one thing to come back 14 points down against the Rams, quite another against the Broncos.

Harbaugh looked like a punch-drunk fighter at the post-game press conference. I felt bad for him, he had no answers on the field, he sure as heck was not going to have any off of it.

That was quite a comeback by the Steelers tonight. As long as Fitzpatrick is the Texans QB, they will never win.

Interesting note on Manning's record: The three all-time leaders in touchdown passes (Manning, Favre & Marino) have 2 Superbowl rings among them. You would think with all of those TD's that the championships would just pile up?

Perhaps that stat is an indictment of the style of play that has prevailed in the NFL for the past 30 years (and especially by these 3), being pass, pass, pass, and forget the run. Can't go wrong with the fundamentals of defense and a strong running game. -- Al

Excellent point. Trent Dilfer is the best example of that. In his 14 year career he had 113 touchdown passes (about 8 per year) and he has as many Super Bowl wins as Manning.

God, the Steelers sure know how with inconsistent play to make a game interesting. I still say lucky if they end up 8/8. Just wow, what kind of play calling at the end of the Houston Game???? Opponent with zero time outs and we throw bombs................Holy smokes. AND I don't care what anyone says, video replay is flawed, they reversed the touchdown at the end of that game, how? IT should have remained as called on the field, game over. Instead, reversed, settle for a field goal and the zaniness began. Lucky to have won that one. I will settle with a win against the Ravens in 2 weeks, if that happens, then dont care about the rest of the season! :smile2:

Other than the team Dilfer won it for, this post makes me smile.

Peyton "All world/greatest QB in the history of the NFL/Mr never met a product he didn't want to pitch" Manning and is one Super Bowl win.

Next week will be thus far the game of the year in the NFL, Patriots/Donkos; the Patriots need to take away all that underneath dink and dunk crap Manning feasts off of at this stage of his career. He still has one of the quickest releases in the NFL, so forget about pressure, just take away that underneath BS and he can be beat, just ask the Seachickens.

Glorious day so far in the NFL; Patriots win, Jets and Ravens lose and Luck just threw his 8th INT this year, a PIC 6 and the Dolts are down 21-3.........................

I agree, quite a nice day, GO Steelers! Although College Football yesterday was a great day too watching the "sanction free Mighty USC Trojans" lose to Utah in the last 2 minutes.....................guess they should have cheated more and they might not have blown that game.

Judging from the rather high number of points scored in the games today, I think that defense, which has been dying in the NFL for years, is officially DOA. Jeesh, what a sad display today. -- Al

Particularly if you were on the losing end! {eek3}

Al...

with so many prolific quarterbacks in the league now...with laser dart arms...and all the touchy, feely interference calls on defense...I think it's easier than ever to score big...

I have always thought it was easier to run a route...than to defend a receiver...but again...the quality of quarterback arms this year is amazing...

tonight's game for example...Rogers and Brees...

Roger's set an all time record for yards receiving in the NFL in one quarter...I think they said he had 208...

in the first quarter...^&grin...

there are some strong arms in the league right now...

Great second half SAINT,s good way to start the week..................:salute::

Need further proof? The games today and the one Thursday had average scores of 31.5 to 18.5. Average total points per game of 50! Lombardi, Halas, and many others are rolling in their graves. Plus, this was the first day in NFL history where 4 different Qb's threw for over 400 yards each. Time to change the game's name to Aeroball.:rolleyes2: -- Al

Nice OT win by the Redskins over Dallas, in Dallas. McCoy did a very credible job at Qb for someone who hadn't started a game in 3 years. Played very much under control and executed the game plan to perfection. Probably will be the highlight of the season. -- Al

Thought it was a very enjoyable game and McCoy played well. All the so-called experts on ESPN picked against Washington. That's why they're "so-called." Probably Romo shouldn't have come back. The only thing I found tiring was the constant shots of McCoy's father.

This win should make Giants and Eagles fans happy.

I agree. The Dallas back up QB was doing a good job. The momentum for Dallas stopped once Romo came back after getting hurt !

it was hard for me to watch...^&grin...

Washington's defensive coordinator called a much better game than Dallas's offensive coordinator...

Dallas could not handle the all out blitzes...

seemed like they gave up on the run too early to me...

I don't think Weeden would have handled the blitzes much better than Romo...

nor Peyton...or Brady...or any quarterback...
