The American Civil War Diaries (1 Viewer)

In a word, stunning. Spectacular really Bob, really love the way you are incorporating flocking of different shades and textures to blend the bases into the display creating a seamless layout.

There is a lot of savage fighting ahead, can't wait to see how this episode unfolds.............

This is truly inspiring. Just one of those dioramas where you shake your head and think, "holy cats!" You've got every detail covered (I won't repeat all the accolades, but I am thinking them). Great smoke too! And the storyline just guides us through the whole thing. I had to share it with non-forum friends. Congrats!

Bob, What everyone else has said and more!:) You should really do a book - you know you want to! ;)

Bob this was a great way to enjoy my cup of coffee this morning. This episode is absolutely astounding. There's not much more that I can say that hasn't already been voclaized by others before me. Your planning and attention to detail has been well worth the wait. Keep in touch - from your Confederate friend trapped in Wisconsin.

Absolutely stunning Bob.Without wanting to cause insult to previous chapters this is the best yet.Wonderous, bloody, chaotic, superbly done and very well narrated. You remain Sir, the master of this craft:cool:.

Rob

phenomenal...

Reb, how long it takes to set up a battle scene?

Excellent job my friend.

Rod.

Excellent start to the morning Bob. This is a fantastic episode; so much grit and fury animated so dramatically. Beyond being beautifully assembled and photographed and meticulously accurate, it is completely immersive; I felt like I was in a CSA Saving Private Ryan scene.:cool: Once again, I am left a bit breathless and with thumping heart, voraciously craving for more.

A wonderful job illustrating the desperation and confusion of hand-to-hand combat. The figures and your composition are story telling at it's best. Thanks. -- Al

Wow

I am still dizzy from all that fighting I witnessed ! What a whirlwind of blood, blasts and bombs ! It is amazing how these scenes look like stills from a movie.

GREAT JOB - UK REB - GREAT JOB !

Autographed of course!

Great idea Bob!

I'm all for it!

Thanks for another great chapter!!

Bob,
Supercalifragilisticexpealidocious!

For a interesting point of view could you try a sepia tone or black and white? Your pictures seem so real it would be extra cool to see what it would look like.

As for the book, It would be hugely expensive but I would like one too! Where should I start sending payments to?

"The part of the captain was played with vim and verve...a pucky adventure aimed more at the heart than the head...we look forward to seeing more from this director."

These are works of art.

Thanks guys for all your comments as always very much appreciated. This was a tough one to depict with a lot of hours spent on it to get it to look right but the fact you guys get some enjoyment out of it makes it all worthwhile.

Alex-thank you for the above comment  but actually I cheated a bit as the inspiration for this shot.......

........came in fact from real art- this famous scene by the artist Thure de Thulstrup

800px-Battle_of_Spotsylvania_-_Thur.jpg

-a Swede by birth who emigrated to the States shortly after the war ended. This actual scene painted around 1880 is entitled "The Bloody Angle" and was sketched by the artist based on eye-witness accounts from veteran Union and Confederate survivors of the three days of fighting around that bloody salient.

Thanks again guys

Reb

Once again, outstanding job Bob, well done as opposed to medium well.

Reb, awesome as always!!!:cool::cool: Keep them coming. You always put such great effort into your dios and it shows big time. Your dios are incredible!

Well, the Muleshoe definitely didn't disappoint. I particularly like the way you started with the sentry, and you have some great looking hand to hand action. My favorite shot though is the one that focuses on the Union advance coming in from an angle. Nice entrenchments too!!
