Things that annoy me (2 Viewers)

George, if you look closely at your Nat Grid gas bill, you'll see that 2/3 of your bill is " delivery services" and only 1/3 is for "supply services" ..... translation, the cost of getting the gas to your home is twice as much as the gas you're using ... thanks to your (and my) governors refusal to let gas pipelines to be constructed in the People's Republic of Taxachussettes ... she even brags about it!

Oh yeah, and a large portion of your gas and electric bills goes to help subsidizes your moonbat neighbors' installation of heat pumps and solar panels.

B.
I want to know who at the state house approved these rate hikes; the gas companies had to get approval on this, correct? So who signed off on it?

I'm going to go ahead and assume it was signed off on largely to pay the 5 billion dollar a year bill from "MassSave" so the green new deal BS can get rammed down everyones throat.

You know the old expression; ****e flows downhill.

This winter, home heating/natural gas costs are through the roof, we're paying 30%/35% more than last year, my bill for January was 450.00, 300.00 of which was a "delivery fee"................these rates were approved by our governor and the stooges around her...............people have been raising Hell over it.............so our brilliant Governor announced a 5% decrease in prices for March and April, but the gas companies can recoup that over time.

Yeah, that 5% will save us.

The rate increases are funding all sorts of green new deal crap in this state; i think it's time to move.
You got off lucky. Here in PA, I paid almost $800 in utility bills last month. It's outrageous. I'm not sure how most folks are heating their homes.

Sorry to read about the health issues of former Vietnam vet and horror movie icon Reggie Bannister who is suffering from dementia and entering hospice care. He was fantastic in the various "Phantasm" movies during the 70s and 80s. They don't make them like that anymore.

Yeah, she's a real piece of work.

But in this moonbat state, she'll keep getting reelected.

It's time to move, enough is enough, my electric bills this Summer ought to be something else.
We have a half-witted gov too and he's originally from wait for it "Massachusetts". Take him back, PLEASE! 😰

ABC News had a segment interviewing three federal workers who had been laid off recently. There has been a great hue and cry about this in the MSM. Why are federal workers somehow sancrosanct? Businesses layoff workers everyday and those are taxpayers. The military discharged thousands of officers at the end of the Vietnam and Iraq wars. Where were the ABC interviews then? One of the interviewees was a FAA economist, no ATC workers were laid off. Will anyone notice the week after she's gone?

There are wars going on, the Pope is seriously ill, there is a new plane crash or incident every day and the news cycle was consumed today by an email that Musk sent that created some confusion. I once joked that if an asteroid was on the way to destroy Earth, CNN would be carrying a Trump story to the very end. And now there actually is an asteroid on the way and we only get stories about Musk jumping around and waving a chainsaw. The end can't come soon enough.

.....and the legacy media wonder why folks are turning away from the likes of CNN & the BBC etc.......maybe dish the leftist woke rubbish and actually report the unbiased facts for a change, its not rocket science.

Sadly Robert De Niro and now Tom Hanks, followed by an ever increasing number of actors and musicians who seem to think their political opinions mean something worth noting....... 🤪🥱🤦‍♂️

The US budget process. Only four times in the last fifty years has Congress passed an actual budget. The next deadline is quickly approaching and there is almost nothing in the news about it. Instead they are consumed with Musk. Typically, this process goes right up to the deadline and then every member can toss in their pork spending at the last minute due to the pressure to avoid closing down the government. Repeat endlessly.

The absurdity and outright stupidity of the American Public - Luigi Mangione is an accused murderer who was caught on video coldly executing a CEO of an Insurance Company. His fan club is bordering on larger than Guns N Roses......................................WTF. His lawyers have had to request his "femaie fans" send no more than 5 photos at a time as it is overloading their servers. Again, what kind of complete donkeyness is this. The guy is a cold blooded killer who got caught and should be publicly hanged.

Getting to be a sick world Tom. I think God will cleanse it again.

To further Doug's point; my late Mother used to subscribe to the Boston Globe, a complete liberal rag, no clue why she did, for whatever reason, my email account was/is linked to her account.

When Biden was president, I'd get "maybe" two stories a week about him and what the Democrats were up to...........since Trump took over, I'm literally getting carpet bombed with stories, I'm talking 7, 8, 9 a day about him and the Republicans and how bad they are..............and no, I don't want to delete the account/block them, I want to see what they are up to.

Mother of God, give it up already..............more than 3.5 more years of this non stop media bias?

The proposed budget is projected to INCREASE the deficit by about $4 trillion. That's trillion with a "t". LOL. You have to laugh at the hue and cry about saving a few million here and there when you are talking about trillions of dollars and counting on the other end.

That's a CBO (Congressional Budget Office) estimate which is total nonsense (as usual), they also estimated 2017 tax cut bill would also run up the deficit by 4 trillion when it actually increased total tax revenue by a trillion and half since implementation.

If you cut over $4 trillion in incoming taxes but only $800 billion in outgoing spending, that is fairly straightforward. Even if the tax cuts generate some additional revenue in terms of improving the economy, it is not going to be enough to avoid adding to the deficit. Musk's efforts are laughable when you are talking about a $38 trillion and counting deficit. The interest on that alone is more than all the cuts (even if the DOGE cuts were even real). This is smoke and mirrors. The efforts being made are ideological rather than an effort to reduce the deficit.

How many billions of dollars of revenue will be generated due to the 10% tariff on Chinese imports; imagine an importer bringing in a 500K in value container of goods and getting hammered to the tune of 50,000.00. The importer has to either eat that or pass it on to the company that buys it wholesale from him who will them pass it on to the customer.

Mega inflation here we come.

Anyone with more than an 8th grade understanding of tariffs knows they do not work, or at least work in the way they think they do, ie, punish China.

China and the manufacturer skates in this scenario; everyone else, not so much.

What is straight ward and undeniable is that tax cuts during the JFK, Reagan, and Trump administrations increased tax revenues (and, once again, CBO numbers are total B.S.) ... and what's really laughable is thinking 4 weeks is ample time to undo decades of deeply imbedded waste, fraud, and corruption. Smoke and mirrors is when big spending politician name multi trillion dollars spending bills The Affordable Care Act, The American Recovery Act, The Chips Bill and Inflation Reduction Act.

I'm hoping the tariffs are a short-term bargaining tools to get those countries (almost everyone) who have ripped us off for the last several decades to change their unfair trade practices. We buy all their stuff but can't sell any US made goods in many places due to tariffs. And we also pay for the privilege of defending many these same countries with our military. That is not only idiotic but not sustainable with a $38 trillion and counting deficit. I don't see any hope of reducing the deficit. Politicians retain power by spending. Not cutting spending. Half the country pays zero taxes. Half the country is dependent on some type of government support. As a result, there is no realistic political or economic solution. The deficit will continue to increase until it is not sustainable and then there will be a total financial collapse that will make the Great Depression look like a barrel of laughs.
