Things that annoy me (1 Viewer)

Things are so bad in California that they are installing water flow reducers in homes to limit that amount of water that can be used. Imagine living in a typical California home that now costs a million dollars or more and trying to take a shower with water that barely trickles out. Talk about karma. Now if there was only a source of water for California like access to an entire ocean.
Yep. If only there was some way to seperate salt from water to make that ocean useful for something other than swimming and peeing in... -- Al

What annoys me is that 2 years in a row, the leader of the free world failed to formally acknowledge and commemorate one of the key remembrances of World War 2 - D-Day. I just find that absolutely disgusting. Only thing said in 2 years is a tweet at 8:45pm last night..........................WTFF....

Come on, Tom, Uncle Joe wasn't even 2 years old at the time of D-Day. He can't be expected to remember everything, or anything, evidently.:rolleyes2: Jeesh. -- Al

And if only the government had some money to spend! But I guess no current politician has any relatives in the desalination business. I think Israel has been doing this for decades.

The California Coastal Commission tonight rejected the proposed construction of a desalination plant in Huntington Beach, sealing the controversial project’s fate after more than 20 years of debate.
The unanimous decision about the $1.4-billion plant in Huntington Beach is pivotal because it sets a high bar for the future of turning seawater into drinking water in California, which can help buffer its vulnerable water supply against drought.

It's official,the inmates are running the asylum.{eek3}

But they'll spend that much on a new sports stadium.

Election runoffs. I don't get it. You have an election. Someone gets the most votes but they are not the winner unless they get over 50%? An impossible task in some instance because there are several candidates. So the winner has to do it all over again. It goes on and on. Costing millions. It also took almost a month to count the votes in the recent PA senate primary. A relatively small state election. They were still recounting when one candidate finally gave up. The vast majority of these votes are cast electronically or counted via an automated process but it takes weeks to count them? One high school kid with computer skills could count those votes in ten minutes. They don't even start counting the mail in votes until the election ends even though they allow ballots to be cast weeks or months ahead of time. Creating inevitable delays.

They almost never call charging in the NBA. You can run over a defender with his feet cemented to the floor and it's still a blocking foul. It's a tough call to make but it goes 90-10 against the defender. I haven't seen many Golden State games but does Curry fall to the ground after almost every drive to the hoop? He must have been on his back 20 times last night after a shot. He's a great player but that is ridiculous.

I tuned out after game 4, enough is enough.

Basketball is now soccer; flopping everywhere, the classic "head whip backwards/grab to the face" once contact is made and the non stop whining for foul calls.

Even the announcers admit it, flopping and embellishing everywhere.

Al was right; what a terrible product, what a truly ****ty sport it has become.

The Warriors have rallied around Draymond Green; they're 2-0 since the "**** you Draymond" chants in game three and Kerr and Thompson whined about it after the game, those Boston meanies.

Those Warriors showed the Celtics who's boss; he may be a total POS, but he's THEIR POS.

Imagine that grabbing/hacking/mauling/arm yanking/nutback kicking ****** will one day be in the Basketball HOF.

I'm out.

I give the Warriors credit. A couple years ago they were awful. They didn't panic. Stayed the course and are back on top. The Celts have a solid group, but no real leader who has that killer instinct. Tatum is too nice. The Celts could still pull it out but they were not a confident looking group last night. Turnovers are killing them. I think the Warriors win it in seven.

18 turnovers last night; the Warriors have scored 103 points off of turnovers so far, an NBA record after 5 games of the finals.

The moment has been too big for a lot of the Celtics; last night, Cury was human, yet the Warriors bench outscored the Celtics bench 31-4.

Who in the **** is Poole? I wouldn't know him if I fell over him.

Tatum is too nice; whoever that goofy white guy is on the Dubs, he was guarding Tatum at times in game 4 and Tatum couldn't do anything vs him; if you can't exploit a match up on Ralph Malph, you are toast.

Things that annoy me - Steve Kerr - please just focus on basketball and oh by the way, please lose. Gotta love holier than thou people who preach to the masses from their glass house.

Hate that guy.

Running an alarmist weather scroll to "take shelter immediately" throughout the entire NBA finals game last night despite the storm being 50-100 miles away.

The Celtics should have headed for shelter, crapped themselves after being up two games to one, up 94-90 in game 4 with 3:41 left.............they proceeded to get rolled from that point forward.

Warriors in 6, just like I predicted.

if there are any Golden State fans on here...
congrats to you...

Boston...22-23 turnovers...
hard to win with that...
that equates to about 2-3 interceptions in a football game...

shooting percentages were about the same...
but all those turnovers gave the Warriors another 20+ shots...

I think Celtic's fan should be somewhat happy...
they basically went to the Superbowl...
I would gladly trade the Laker's record this year for that...

I doubt anyone expected the Celts to make the finals. So there is that. I can't imagine the old Celts getting rolled at home like that last night, though. They would have taken some hard fouls and tried to get physical. That was woke basketball. Dribble, shoot a three point shot, dribble some more, flop. It was an entertaining series but neither of those teams are what I would call elite NBA champions. Imagine them playing Magic, Bird, Dr. J, Jordan, or the old Detroit teams.

Getting through the Nets, Bucks (defending champs) and the top seeded Heat was quite a run.

They ran into a better team and lost, they committed a **** ton of turnovers, but a lot of that was on the Warriors defense, snuffed out their offense, forced extra passes, panicked passes, desperate passes which led to turnovers.

Cury is on another level.

The better team won, I thought they had a shot when they were up 2-1, but they got rolled 3 strait after that.

The company seeking to build the desalinization plant spent over $100M on the permit process and engineering plans. Approximately 80% of Israel's municipal water comes from desalinization and plans to double production by 2030. The vote against the California plan was 11-0. The US has not built a new oil refinery since 1976. Hoover Dam and The Golden Gate Bridge could never be built today.

Yes, they will wait until the catastrophe is on them before doing anything and then pay ten times as much to fix it (and only after a lot of folks suffer without water). They are almost there. Another year like this one and they will be putting rain buckets on the lawns of those Beverly Hills mansions.
