Things that annoy me (7 Viewers)

You all seem like a bunch of sissy's! Growing up we had no air conditioning. My parents did not get air conditioning until after I was married and out of the house. All we had were a box fan that was in a window and turned on at night to pull in some cooler night air. I remember my mom telling us "don't complain about the heat as we are all hot". Up until I was 12 years old we lived in Jefferson Barracks. It was an old army post when after WW 2 because of the housing shortage they converted the old wooden army barracks into apartments. Only veterans could live there. Then when we moved into a house it did not have air conditioning but at least it had a basement where it was a bit cooler. About the first 4 years on the police department none of the cars had AC. Also looking back on the police department in the first 4 or so years the only radio we had was in the car, no portable radio that you carried on your person. As I look back how dangerous was that? But I was in my early 20's, nothing could happen to me!
Same here, grew up in Baltimore with August temps up to 100 deg and no A/C. We also had a box fan in the hall window to draw in some air to be able to sleep. Parents finally got A/C after I moved out.

Ahh the good old days!

My first car had no A/C, but it did have the 260, 2 windows rolled down going 60MPH.

All of my cars since then have had air conditioning. Now and then I think about rolling down the windows and turning off the A/C so I can suffer. Then I remember that I am not a “get off my lawn”, back when I was a kid, old man.

Not yet at least. 😁
Yeah, the good old days when people were dropping like flies from heat stroke.

Nothing I enjoy more than sitting outside in July and August with sweat rolling down my face and making ball soup, now that's what I call enjoyable.

None of the cars I owned from 16 to 28 had AC, then I came out of the stone age and what a difference.

The childhood home I grew up in has AC window units galore until my parents decided to put in central air...........my condo has central air too.

Can't live without it, don't know how those who don't have it can either.

When it's cold out, you put on another layer; when it's hot as balls out, stripping down to you drawers is not an option, nor would it help.

But again; hey, to each his own.
