Gad, now I'm depressed. All that loss and now we gotta wait to February to see where and how everyone else is. What a great show! -- Al
I don't think very many people in that kind of world would live to old age.Did you see the preview of a AWI show called Turn;America's First Spy Ring.Suppose to be based on factoral events, coming in 2014.

I need someone to explain to me why Rick opted for hand-to-hand combat with the Governor instead of just shooting him with that cannon he carries. I mean, if Rick could surprise the Gov by jumping on him from behind, in the middle of a fire-fight, why not just blow his brains out instead of risking a fist fight? Some people just have to do things the hard way. -- Al
Al,
IMO , hand to hand is more personal...After the governor hacked off Herschel's head , I am sure each & every person in the group would want to have a go at him...So Rick wanting to work over the governor seems fitting...He did get the script flipped on him when the gov was choking the life out of him...before Michone showed up...but the governor deserved to get the snot beat out of him....

I still say the Guv's death wasn't gruesome enough for all the carnage he wrought.
Just got into this show thanks to my wife. While I am back in California I am going to watch seasons1-3.
I still say the Guv's death wasn't gruesome enough for all the carnage he wrought.
I agree I was hoping that Michonne would cut his head off too like he did Herschel.I don't know why she walked away without making sure he was dead.I think when he was up there flapping his jaws I would've put a bullet in his head right there and then.I think his followers would have wilted and run away.

That's where I am at this point; I thought he'd just lay there and get ripped to shreds by walkers, or biters, or whatever you want to call them.
Plus I hate to say it, but we didn't actually see him die, I hope to God he doesn't come back again.
And from what I heard, according to the comic book, there is another character out there that the group will be running into who's worse than the Governor.
Wow.
I think the Governor has had it as well. He has what is known as injuries incompatible with life. As you say, a sword through the body would have had to damage main blood vessels, organs, whatever, and with no medical help, infection would be guaranteed. Gut wounds without care are pretty hard to survive. Sure hope the show just lets the Governor go to Hades. Now it would be a hoot if Machonne was to turn him into one of her armless zombie slaves. -- AlPretty sure the Guv is dead - unless maybe Lilly fired that shot to show him whose boss and then rescued him somehow. With the camp wiped out, sister AWOL and daughter dead, her prospects aren't promising. She could see him as her only hope in a cruel world. But doubtful. Plus, coming back from a sword theu your middle with very limited medical treatment, that's a bit of a stretch even for a zombie show. Seeing him resurrected as a zombie though would be a nice touch. One Eye Bi(ter)
The group really needs to ramp up their security, whenever if ever they find a new home. By now the zombies really are the minor threat. People who want your stuff, they're the menace. Zombies couldnt destroy the prison -- but other people did. Any facility that can withstand an attack by the living is more than enough security necessary to keep the zombies at bay.
I don't know why she walked away without making sure he was dead.
For the same reason that when the Governor killed Merle, he didn't shoot him in the brain: So he would become a zombie.
I watched the Talking Dead right after. It was explained that much loved characters usually end up with quite a gruesome death ala Hershel. Hated characters aren't given the satisfaction.
Was interesting to see the stunt doubles for the characters, especially Karls.............his is a 31 year old female.
