Gad, now I'm depressed. All that loss and now we gotta wait to February to see where and how everyone else is. What a great show! -- Al

Just got into this show thanks to my wife. While I am back in California I am going to watch seasons1-3.

I don't think very many people in that kind of world would live to old age.Did you see the preview of a AWI show called Turn;America's First Spy Ring.Suppose to be based on factoral events, coming in 2014.
Mark

Dying of old age is not an option in zombieland.

I did see the preview, can't wait to read about all the things wrong with it from the AWI rivet counters....................

Great episode.Hard to believe that I stopped watching it after season 1 but came to my senses and caught up with it in season3.
Mark

Couldn't agree more, it was a great episode.

Much like the ending at the farm where the characters are scattered like sticks in the wind, same deal now, they need to reorganize, get back on the road again and find a new home.

Awesome end to the half season finale. Good to see some loose ends tied up, but enough left for us to want more. Roll on February.

I need someone to explain to me why Rick opted for hand-to-hand combat with the Governor instead of just shooting him with that cannon he carries. I mean, if Rick could surprise the Gov by jumping on him from behind, in the middle of a fire-fight, why not just blow his brains out instead of risking a fist fight? Some people just have to do things the hard way. -- Al

Al,

IMO , hand to hand is more personal...After the governor hacked off Herschel's head , I am sure each & every person in the group would want to have a go at him...So Rick wanting to work over the governor seems fitting...He did get the script flipped on him when the gov was choking the life out of him...before Michone showed up...but the governor deserved to get the snot beat out of him....

Agreed. Also, shooting the Gov from behind the bus while he's not looking would have been a bit on the cowardly side, right? Facing him man to man in a fight to the death was the only option for a "good guy" at least in TV world. In real life id have no problem assassinating the gov while wearing a woman's skirt ;)

I still say the Guv's death wasn't gruesome enough for all the carnage he wrought. But it did give closure to two people who had good reason to detest him. The takeaway is, I guess, that Good People correct wrongs they see but don't go for bloodthirsty revenge like the Bad Guys do.

Certainly the splitting up of the groups offers the potential for being the genesis of a spin off series. Personally Id rather see them keep the characters distinct, as one zombie series at a time may be my limit...

That's where I am at this point; I thought he'd just lay there and get ripped to shreds by walkers, or biters, or whatever you want to call them.

Plus I hate to say it, but we didn't actually see him die, I hope to God he doesn't come back again.

And from what I heard, according to the comic book, there is another character out there that the group will be running into who's worse than the Governor.

Wow.

Lucky you that will be great viewing,i did that earlier this year and now we have to wait till February great ending, what happened to the "Little *** Kicker" ??

I agree I was hoping that Michonne would cut his head off too like he did Herschel.I don't know why she walked away without making sure he was dead.I think when he was up there flapping his jaws I would've put a bullet in his head right there and then.I think his followers would have wilted and run away.

Pretty sure the Guv is dead - unless maybe Lilly fired that shot to show him whose boss and then rescued him somehow. With the camp wiped out, sister AWOL and daughter dead, her prospects aren't promising. She could see him as her only hope in a cruel world. But doubtful. Plus, coming back from a sword theu your middle with very limited medical treatment, that's a bit of a stretch even for a zombie show. Seeing him resurrected as a zombie though would be a nice touch. One Eye Bi(ter)

The group really needs to ramp up their security, whenever if ever they find a new home. By now the zombies really are the minor threat. People who want your stuff, they're the menace. Zombies couldnt destroy the prison -- but other people did. Any facility that can withstand an attack by the living is more than enough security necessary to keep the zombies at bay.

I think the Governor has had it as well. He has what is known as injuries incompatible with life. As you say, a sword through the body would have had to damage main blood vessels, organs, whatever, and with no medical help, infection would be guaranteed. Gut wounds without care are pretty hard to survive. Sure hope the show just lets the Governor go to Hades. Now it would be a hoot if Machonne was to turn him into one of her armless zombie slaves. -- Al

I watched the Talking Dead right after. It was explained that much loved characters usually end up with quite a gruesome death ala Hershel. Hated characters aren't given the satisfaction.

Was interesting to see the stunt doubles for the characters, especially Karls.............his is a 31 year old female.

I also always watch the Talking Dead afterwards...It was quite a sad farewell to Scott Wilson ( Herschel ) , seeing how Lauren Cohen & Emily Kinney were emotionally affected by his character death on the show was touching...
The Governor being killed was satisfying enough for me...
Also enjoyed seeing the stunt doubles...

I usually watch the Talking Dead, as well. I don't much care for the host but the guests can be interesting. I did feel sorry for the host a few weeks back when Marilyn Manson was one of the guests. He was so off-the-wall that the host didn't know what to do with him. It was kind of funny. -- Al

I like the host he seems to really like the show.He was a real trooper going on when his dad died the day before.
Mark

Finally something my 25 year old son and I can bond to. He just confessed that he's hooked on the show by way of his friends and is now looking for earlier seasons.
