Hi Konrad,

I am not sure if I will be attending the Chicago Show this year or not, but if I do attend, it will be strictly as an attendee and not as a seller. I am glad you like the Hiriart sets I have posted. Although I sell Hiriart at the West Coaster each year, I have only been a seller for one of the 13 years that I have gone to Chicago. Since I really am a collector and not a dealer, the logistics and associated costs of hauling stuff to Chicago just doesn't make a lot of economic sense for me. If you send me your email address, I will send you a Hiriart Catalog List plus a list of Hiriart sets that I have available for resale. matara42@roadrunner.com Thanks.

Here are a few more Hiriart sets that I received on August 4th for my personal collection:

1083 THE RED DEVILS PARACHUTE REGIMENT

1088 ACADEMIA MILITARE DI MODENA, ITALIA

1172 FRENCH SPAHIS DE VALENCE, 1990

1174 GUARDIA CIVIL, ESPANA

SPEC IMPERIAL GUARD COSSACKS (this is a non-catalog set)

These four posts give you a small insight to the wide variety of sets that Hiriart has in its' 340 set catalog.

Thank you, Damian. It is hard to beat Hiriart if you like traditional glossy, 54mm toy soldiers. I do import them; I place one order a year with Hiriart. This year's order #7 was for 161 sets which is being shipped in three parts. I have received two parts, to date, and the third part should be completed in December. I am not sure how easy it is to buy direct from Hiriart, because, in the past, Hiriart has refered inquireres they received to me since the individuals were not placing large orders. I honestly don't know the size of orders they would consider from new customers to sell to them directly. My first, and smallest trial order, was for 30 sets in 2005. All my subsequent orders have been for at least 100 sets. I currently order Hiriart for almost 30 different collectors, including about a dozen from the Forum. I also sell them at the West Coaster Show in March. If you will send me your email address I will send you a Hiriart catalog list of their 340 sets and a copy of a list of what resale sets I still have available from this year's order. The sets are $125 each while double sets (i.e., artillery gun teams, bands, Dehli Durbar elephants, etc.) are $240. My email address is matara42@roadrunner.com Thanks.

I have sent an email.
Thanks Mike in advance.

Hi Damian,

I did not receive your email. Why don't you try again? BTW, where are you now located? I am sure that the tower of song is not Sing Sing Prision in New York.

I think the great Leonard Cohen was referring to a spiritual prison.

I must admit that I do not have a clue as to who Leonard Cohen is or was. So much for my six years of liberal arts college education, but I do know where Birkina Faso is and the name of its' capital---but who cares?

Last week, I bought 34, Marx Rin Tin Tin Cavalry 60mm.
In that same lot were five 60mm horses.

Now, I want some damaged figures to build conversions.

Well, it just goes to show ya, doesn't it. We are all different when it comes right down to it. I stopped listening and following popular music when heavy metal hit the scene. I consider rap to be worse than water boarding. Earlier this year, I saw a list of the top five songs for 2010 and the artists who performed them; never heard of any them or their songs and I couldn't care less. My car radio is tuned like a laser to three classical music stations and an oldies but goodies station. Only time will tell if Cohen joins Bach, Beethoven and Brahms. However, I did play a couple of links provided by Damian of some of Cohen's works and found them to be interesting and entertaining. But I ain't much in to Prophets, religious or otherwise.
