I too watched it again...in the dark and it was spectacular the second time around. A couple of things though:

Weren't the wight walkers/King created by the forest children to help them fight against man? And yeah what is the story between the Wight King and Bran?

The Dothraki attack was de-moralizing when the lighted swords slowly went out.

Tactical error...when they lit the trench the wight walkers stopped and both sides just looked at each other...No, NO, NO!!! ATTACK!!! Jon Snow and his dragon should have blasted them with dragon fire before the King raised the Bella Lugoisi hand to give them instructions to make a wight walker bridge over the trench.

The giant scene was brutal...dude got a poker in the eye.

I'll be honest I thought all was lost and was wondering how they were going to end the episode, until Arya shanked the King. Wow...

I'm going to miss the Red Witch (with the necklace on)...she is hot.

I cannot wait for Sunday to come!!!

Good build up episode to THE BATTLE which I think will be decide The Iron Throne :rolleyes2:.I really think the last episode will decide the fates of Danys and Jon.

but...
I'm getting the feeling Dany is not gonna be around too much longer...
she's a little too ambitious at any cost to be the logical choice...
and Lord Varys made some dark foreshadowing ambiguous remarks about her being the one...
Sansa and Arya don't dig her at all...
Arya...the Hound...Jamie...Briane...and the Wildlings aren't following her into battle...
actually...haven't a clue to what Jamie's new plan is...
not to mention another dragon is lost...

I'm guessing it's Jon or the Imp will rule...

I really wanted to see the Battle of the Cleganes...{eek3}
hope the Hound gets back in the fray...

There was some spectacular writing in last night's show. The dialogue between Varys and Tyrion was fascinating: as an advisor what should you advise under difficult circumstances? Should you be guided by your ruler's guiding principles or by the desire to achieve the ultimate objective, no matter the cost. Reason or emotion?

Varys seems to care about the kingdoms and the people more than anyone.Perhaps he will sit on the Iron Throne.Last 2 episodes
should be very interesting.Jon Snow is a very honest and noble man but we know what happens to those kind of people in this show.

the Lord of the Rings part ll made a similar booboo when it was shot...
they panned back from a mountain scene and you could see a Volkswagen driving down the road...

then the show ended...

I think they skipped any closure and left it up to the viewer...
how did you interpret that?

but after 8 episodes of with the central theme of ruling the 7 Kingdoms...
I gotta believe someone will end up with the crown...^&grin

I was personally really disappointed in the Soprano's ending...
there was talk of a 2 hour movie which was to provide a conclusion.
but it never happened...

I didn't love this particular episode, the death of the Dragon was in my opinion a waste and on a whole - stupid. Those Dragons were seeming invincible and since when has fire not been unleashed on the enemy. It would have been IMO a great point in the story to eradicate Euron Greyjoy. Yet Drogon never even lit a match much less destroyed them. The build up in the books was all about the return of the dragons. That is the part for me that was engaging. Simply coming up with a type of siege machine to stop them is ludicrous in my opinion. Just a waste.

As to the ending, who knows and frankly not sure I care as IMO again, inevitably when they decided to condense this season and end it in 8 eps, you knew there was going to be sacrifices to the story and I feel like that is what I am watching. It is not that I don't like the show, but the story line thus far at times is underwhelming.
