Moe,

Your airplane scenes are just incredible. Love seeing them.

Thank you. :D

Keeps me busy while dodging the corona-cooties. ;)

Moe, you keep knockin' 'em out of the park. On the other hand I feel you are taunting me with your photography skills. {eek3} Fantastic! Chris

This is ACE-12, the Nungesser Nieuport 17:

Note that the grass near the bottom of the backdrop-image appears to be in front of the model, a perceptual slight of hand.

Today's output, another view of one of Jenkins' best models, the Collishaw Sopwith Triplane:

This is Jenkins' only 2-seater, a Roland C.IIa Walfisch:

Admittedly not the best image that I've ever produced, but it's sorta fun, at least, so I thought that I'd share it:

This is another example of perspective being forced on a subject. In this case, the model appears set back against a foreground of poppies.

You could get that way cheaper 3D printed to be honest

That's true of resin vs wooden subjects in general.

I'd also note that surface detail and parts definition translates far better with resins than wood.

Still, mahogany has it's charms, character if you will, and collectors keep buying.

Put another way, I don't view the turrets solely as scale models.

Rather, I'm purchasing them as pieces of furniture for my home.

In the end, IMO, you get what you pay for, in terms of uniqueness, quality and workmanship.

Louis,

That's my favorite, also. It's kind of hard to believe that we can buy a model that sophisticated "off the shelf." The rigging is so elaborate and well executed:

!

Terrific detail. Back in my youth I attempted a model of this aircraft, the rigging drove me crazy, unbelievably difficult to glue struts tight and make them hold. Partly why I gave up on modelling and started buying pre-built items. I have a friend that builds large sailing ship models, complete with string type rigging for the sails etc. They cost a fortune but he's a retired teacher and no doubt has developed more patience than me ^&grin
