JB,
I'll post a few shots this weekend.

Cheers Joe - I like repairing and painting simple glossy Toy Soldiers - so haven't got a clue how painters might tackle some of these complex paint schemes - but would be interested to find out more. jb

Hi JB,
Here are photos of the damage. The big crack to the back of the surcoat (which was not disclosed by the seller), has had an attempted repair performed to it prior to my acquisition of the figure (the evidence being glue residue along at the break point). It requires a real repair including gap filling and repainting. I have yet to complete this task, but I did repair the helmet decoration and reattached it although the locating pin for it sheared off and is seized in the back of the figure's head.

Gorgeous figure! Wow!

What’s the backdrop? Is that a puzenko special???

Thanks Zach!

Yes, the backdrop is a Puzenko piece. It's the same structure he made for Aeroart's Borgia dioramas, but mine is without the figures.

Here is a 54mm Viking I painted. I bought the casting from Sergei at the Westcoaster many years ago. When I finally got around to working on the figure I realized the kit was missing the scabbard/hilt assembly. So I fit the figure w/ a new one I got from a Pegaso accessory kit. I hope you like it!

That is really well done. I’m especially impressed by the cape!

Great work! You really did do an excellent job painting that figure. As previously mentioned, the cape looks amazing.

Always amazed with that kind of talent, as I have none! :salute:: Truly remarkable painting details. Chris

Chris,
Thank you kindly. I just wish I had more time to paint! I guess that's a problem we all have, wanting more time to do the things we love.

Happy New Year!

I have the time, I’m lacking the talent 😀

I used to have the talent, but now my eyesight is fading, my hands aren't nearly as steady, and, when I make the time, the results aren't anything close to Joe's!{sm2}

If you have the desire Zach you can build talent and as well as discover some that maybe you didn't know was there. I think there is potential for latent gifts within us all awaiting activation. It all starts w/ the love of something and then the learning required to harvest hidden predispositions.
