I think its fair to comment on some errors in any piece and, thats not rocket science its all down in Books etc which are readily available. I think its the manner of the jibes that have been bandied around from that.

I second that, the jibes and digs are pointless and designed to annoy.

Sad thing is that some people just enjoy annoying people and being argumentative. Psychologically, its a deficit in their personality or a gap in their lives which, through being like this gives them some form of fulfillment. Good point about not saying something you would not say to someones face but, some people are somewhat ignorant to others feelings IMO
Mitch

Dont agree, I think what (in my mind) is being vilified and justly I might add are posts that are blatant barbs and baits and there is not one person (in my posts) being vilified unjustly. I just happened to use 1 example that referenced one person b/c it was available.

Technical points are quite justified and worth asking about. Blatant attacks and disrespect are not. Therein lies the rub, which is which is hard to identify, but when the same drum gets beaten over and over it is easier to identify such barbs.

I guess a good rule is don't post something you wouldnt say to someone in person, that generally keeps the disputes to a minimum.

I don't follow what you don't agree about. First off, Dave was referring to the thread in the entirety so while your posts my not do that, that does not speak to the many others that fit his observation. Also, your original example reads as a response to the question of an example of conflict of interest, not baits or bards, which was a follow on point for which you did not cite an example. As I noted in response, I don't see that as a conflict example but I did agree the phrase "cartoonish" was unfortunate.

We both seem to agree that criticism is fine and insult is not but repitition, while annoying at some point, is not automatically insult. I do think your rule of what to say, which I certainly try to follow, is a good one. Also thinking about how your comment will be taken by others, a luxury we do not have as easily in person before you post it is another.;)

We seem to be discussing different subjects here, Tom, and I think Doug tried to bring this up a while back. Don't know how these 20 pages of posts evolved to the present discussion, but from a purely disinterested perspective, it would seem that the thread's author has been painted unfairly as some sort of insider or saboteur along the way.

As for baits and barbs and what I call "forum rage" or lacking a filter between ones brain and typing finger, I think most of us would agree this is unfortunate behavior, but really misses the point of my current concern.

Well I may be going back to the 1980's when this thread first appeared, but I think it looks an excellent model and would grace any collection.

I think its took the fun out of the release of one of the best fighters in WWII. I will still get one as its ordered but, I think its been done to death now

For anyone that pre-ordered this kite, I would be highly appreciative if you could post some images of her once she lands in your respective collection. Thanks in advance for your time.

I hear you, I agree original post was fine in my eyes, I think what I was referring to was the recent history of the thread. So, you are correct, we are apples to oranges and I understand your post. Heck, to tell the truth, I had to go back and read the first post!!!! Unfortunately, the thread disintegrated real fast much like a lot of them on here lately.

Ixec, I was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt.

However after your above post it is now very clear to me that your only purpose on this forum is to denegrate King & Country at every opportunity, be it deserved or not.

Your actions only hurt the reputation of TMG (which I also collect) by association and I ask that you cease your personal vendetta against K & C.

Ixec often posts photos of TGM models well before their release which gave me the impression that he does have some specific relationship with the company, maybe other members have also noticed this and came to the same conclusion (Right or Wrong).

Your wrong....

The drumming of personal attacks to Vilify me comtinue....what am I to say, other than it reminding me of a lyric....

The beat goes on.....The beat goes on

Drums keep pounding rhythm to the brain...La De Da De De

La De Da De DA

Agree with you and it certainly hurts the reputation of K&C (which I collect too) and some of its supporters.

Harvey.

Guys,
no offense, I don't think any of us or our opinions are hurting any manufacturer or their reputation. C'mon, as important as I would like to be, our forum is but a small part of the toy soldier family!

I have always said, does anyone really know how many toy soldier collectors are out there???? My opinion is that the offline community far dwarfs the online community. I think we are a growing online community, but we really in no way are the market.

I think the only reputations that get hurt are individuals. Critical opinions are very tough to give in an online forum without sounding condescending, arrogant or overly aggressive against the object of your opinion.

Also, the supporters stuff is just plain nuts, what is wrong with collectiong different manufacturers??? Why can't you like them all? Why is it personal?? Again, I know, rhetorical questions that I am sure will be continued to be posted ad infinitum.

Just my 2 cents on reputations.

Tom

BLAH BLAH BLAH.i dont care if K+C made 1 with 5 wings and a jet engine or TGM had rotar blades im buying all 3 because im am just happy these 2 companys exist and are making GREAT products, especially planes 6 months ago who could afford a plane i couldn't now im going to have 2 British,1 American and 5 German planes and more to come plus the accessories this is a great time to be collecting and the potential for Dio,s is amazing just my 23 cents worth i cant wait for my FW190 and then the Desert 109 (Hopefully)thanks Andy + Co keep up the great work cobber.

I picked up this hobby master 1/48 Fw 190 for £30.00 so if they can get it right
for that price I expect a company charge a Very lot more can do the same

I am buying the K&C, And the TG plane as soon as they come out. I am more than happy that these are coming out.
Now as far as Discrediting a manufacturer, If IXEC's thread is mostly just putting down what K&C is making. Then I would question his motives, Especially since he has gotten pictures/ information that TG only knows about.
