Tom:

I think you are looking at $50k-$60k with any of those schools!!!!

A few years ago our youngest narrowed his two choices to Rice and Texas. With room and board etc. Rice was about $55k per year, UT was about $15k per year. Thankfully he chose UT!

Some alum recently gave USC $400 million. And they turned around and raised tuition to $54k. The university system is corrupt to the core. It is mostly about raising revenue. And there is never enough. USC sold the naming rights to the LA Memorial Coliseum. Now it is the "United Airlines Field" and they plastered it with ads. LOL

Oklahoma's playoff hopes are going up in flames thanks to that powerhouse Kansas State; 23.5 dog and they are up 24 on the Sooners...………..what an embarrassing defensive effort, they are toast with one loss for sure, they aren't coming back from a 24 point deficit.

All you have to do is put your wheeling and dealing toy soldier hat on, thin out your collection and Logan gets a free ride to the school of his choice thanks to your smart purchases over the years.

^&grin:D:wink2::):tongue:

YA MON! Although I don't know if I could do it. I had to break it to Logan that the Pachyderms hold a strong position in my heart!!! Just kidding, but all of them will be expensive, hopefully he continues the high grades/SAT and that translates to scholarship!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i saw this, very disheartnening as I do not want Notre Dame anywhere near that playoff. GO MICHIGAN AND GO BIG BLUE TONIGHT, Beat the Irish!

I do not agree with the overturning of the onside kick in the OK game, that went 10 yards or it was inconclusive, bad call. That said, how did OU put themselves in that position.

Michigan impressed me last week in a very hostile environment. I think they get it done at home but you can never count the Irish out when the refs always give them a call in a crucial situation.

I justnsaw the biggest bs call of the year for Notre dame a pass interference and they have finally scored bs to the tenth degree the refs are in on the fix mark my words if nd can steal this they will

Ok take it back refs didnt matter big blue rolls and brian kelly cried and fsu won all in all stars aligned today

UK wins two in a row, against weak teams, with a wide receiver (Lynn Bowden) at QB. All the other QBs are injured. The season starting QB is out for the season. The announcers said he was the leading rusher in the SEC for those games. He ran for 204 yds yesterday. Don't know how long he can last getting some serious hits every game. Chris

I don't know if Al is following his Terps during the World Series, but I give them credit. When they lose, they lose big. And they have Michigan and Ohio St coming up. Yikes. I'm not sure what is going on in Minnesota but they are quietly putting together a good season. My USC Trojans managed to steal a road win against lowly Colorado despite 13 starters out with injuries. 13! Unbelievable.

Oh, I'm following the Terps, as always, but it is more like the fascination of watching a slow-motion disaster unfold then anything else.:rolleyes2: Their schedule is brutal, with 5 ranked teams. They just lost to #17 Minnesota 52-10, and have #19 Michigan next, then #3 OSU. The schedule then lets up with their last 2 games against Nebraska and MSU.:rolleyes2: Terps will be lucky to win again and will likely finish 3-9 after starting 2-0. At least they managed to beat then #21 Syracuse. Losing big is their calling card this year.{sm2} -- Al

Anyone else notice the obnoxious lighting effects during the Bama game last night? That light-dark-light-dark crap between plays had me going nuts. Turned the channel after a few minutes and never went back. Someone needs to rethink those special effects...start by firing the moron who came up with the idea. :rolleyes2: -- Al

Kirk Herbstreit is the most biased analyst in sports. He said that Ohio State should be ranked #1. When pressed as to why they should be ahead of LSU he said that Ohio State had signature wins against Cincinnati and Wisconsin. When asked about LSU he said that they had a couple of decent wins but Ohio State's wins were more impressive.

Wait, what?

I am not an LSU fan but their signature wins are against Texas, Florida and Auburn.

LSU has to play Bama in a couple of weeks. So they control their fate. I think the top four are clear for now with Bama, Clemson, LSU and Ohio St. But at least one of those teams has to lose a game and that opens things up for Oklahoma and Penn. St. The big question might be whether two SEC teams get in when either LSU or Bama has a loss and that only loss is to the other. Then you have a situation in which a one loss Bama or LSU team doesn't even win their division. I think an undefeated Penn St. team might jump them but not a one loss Oklahoma team.

My pick of the day is Washington over #9 Utah. I think the Huskies win big at home.

Navy pounded UConn 56-10 last night to improve to 7-1 on the season, a heck of an improvement over last season's 3 total wins. Their remaining 4 games are tough ones, Notre Dame & SMU are both ranked. Houston, while only 3-5, has played a very tough schedule with 4 of their losses to ranked teams and then there is the season ending game with Army, always a tough opponent for Navy. If Navy can upset ND or SMU, they have a decent shot at a 10 win season, but it won't be easy. -- Al

The calls the Irish get in South Bend are unreal. Another phantom roughing the passer call after an INT. And then a phantom PI in the end zone. Virginia Tech and USC have both been screwed there by the refs. Not even close calls. Like Russian judges in the Olympics.

YUP! The luck of the Irish strikes again, it is downright maddening. It is ridiculous. On a positive note for me, FSU just spent $18M to end Taggart Time. Thank goodness, that futile exercise needed to be brought to a close. Hopefully we find a better coach and a more permanent (at least for the forseeable future) solution.

It seems like just yesterday that FSU, Miami, Nebraska and USC were all dominating college football, now they are all struggling to stay bowl eligible, let alone relevant.

I read that Lame Kiffin was interested! If they hire that clown, things will get even worse. It amazes me how some coaches can fail over and over and there is still a demand for their service with multi-million dollar contracts. I got into the wrong profession. "Warden" Myers is being mentioned for just about every coaching position including FSU, USC, and ND. There is no way he goes to USC, though. The last thing they need is to hire a scandal magnet like that. He is a great coach but always leaves under a cloud. The coach at Minnesota looks promising. If he can recruit and build a winner there, then he should do well in warmer climates.
